Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 549: Chapter 266 Prisoner_2

There were still people constantly pouring out from the Space Gate.

It wasn’t until ten soldiers, all wearing military uniforms and taciturn, stood behind him that the Space Gate finally closed completely.

At this moment, Balazs’s expression changed entirely, his eyes wide open in shock.

”Ge-General Kriel.”

Right now his mind was in utter chaos, countless incomprehensible thoughts flooding his head.

Alka and the others, who were standing a bit further behind, looked at the man in front of them, and at the soldiers standing behind him.

The power emanating from this general was terrifying, and Alka’s Dream Catcher was frantically sending out danger signals.

Definitely someone they couldn’t afford to provoke.

General Kriel looked down at Feiba at his feet, nudged Feiba’s head with his toe, and when he saw that Feiba was only unconscious, he lifted his hand and waved it.

Two soldiers immediately stepped forward and carried Feiba to the back.

Only then did General Kriel turn his attention to Balazs, who had spoken up.

”Mr. Balazs, I apologize for meeting you under these circumstances.”

His voice was serious, but not lacking in politeness.

It just didn’t quite match his stern expression.

Balazs looked at him, his expression gradually calming down. Alka could see that his face now held a certain air of despair.

He frowned in confusion and asked, ”So it was you? It was you who deliberately suppressed me, causing trouble for my trading company, wasn’t it?”

”Just some little tricks.”

When the general nodded and admitted it, all the doubts in Balazs’s mind were resolved.

No wonder that even after dragging out the traitor, he still felt the commercial acts against him were so inexplicable.

So that’s how it was.

But he was still baffled: ”Why? I’m just a small-time ocean merchant. Compared to someone like you, I’m not worth mentioning at all.”

He couldn’t understand why General Kriel would target him; in terms of strength, influence, or status, the gap between them was immense.

It was like a billionaire suddenly going out of his way to scheme against a beggar on the street.

Of course, the beggar would be confused.

While the two of them talked, Alka and the rest in the background remained on high alert, their brows tense with vigilance.

Although they couldn’t follow all the words, it wasn’t hard to understand: the one who caused Balazs’s commercial troubles, forcing him to seek wealth to recover, was precisely this man called ’the general’ in front of them.

Judging by his attire, his strength, and how deferential Balazs was, it was obvious this man had an extraordinary status on Southern Cross Island.

As for the reason he targeted him, Alka could more or less guess it.

If you’ve chased us all this way, what else could it be for? It has to be about the island, or rather, the half of the map in his hands.

”If you wanted the map I have, you just needed to ask. I would naturally offer it with both hands.”

If it weren’t for being targeted, causing a financial crisis, he never would have thought about seeking treasure on the island to get through the difficulties.

And given a general’s status, if he only had to ask, Balazs would gladly present his half of the Human Skin Map.

He would even shamelessly rush to offer it.

He believed the general would understand this too.

So what is the point of all this scheming?

”Kovari’s connection with that pirate must also be because of you. As long as you wanted, both map fragments would be in your hands.”

Other than these two fragments, he really couldn’t imagine what else would be worth so much effort from General Kriel.

But there was just no need for such trouble.

Facing Balazs’s questions, the general’s face stayed stern and emotionless.

”You’re very calm. That’s good.”

”It’s simple. This is something I cannot do myself, but someone still needs to do it.”

The general seemed about to say more.

Alka immediately interrupted, ”Since this is a personal grudge between you two, as outsiders, we’re probably not suitable to stay here.

Don’t worry, I’ll forget everything that happened here, and we’ll leave the Broken Island Chain immediately.”

He felt that if he listened any longer, they’d all be silenced—he had to cut in.

Hearing Alka speak, General Kriel turned his head to look at Alka and the others.

”Your appearance here surprised me. I have been observing what you’ve done on the island. I require your assistance here.”

He spoke without the slightest regard for what Alka and the others thought.

”It’s just some treasure, just the loot of some scum pirate. Why would you go to such trouble for it?”

Balazs seemed determined to die knowing the truth, still asking questions.

The general bowed his head slightly to look at him: ”Your curiosity is strong, but clearly you don’t really understand the Treasure.”

Then, unwilling to explain further, he turned to Alka and the rest.

”My friends, if you don’t mind, could you lend a hand? Once I have what I want, I’ll naturally let you go.”

Sometime during all of this, a pair of glasses had appeared on Alka’s face.

Just as he thought.

The general’s readings were already completely above Tier Three, and behind him, those ten soldiers—each one of them had reached Tier Three themselves.

Based on their previous deductions, anyone above Tier Three had to possess at least one Treasure.

With this kind of strength arrayed before them, they had almost no chance of winning.

Resisting would only end in failure—then being forced to help them against their will.
