Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 538: Chapter 262 Twin of Fear_3

The Broken Island was, unexpectedly, ranked quite high among these island chains.

”As for where he might have hidden the Treasure, I don’t know. But it’s said he should have hidden it on one of the islands in the Southern Cross Island chain because ever since he became a pirate, he has never left the Broken Sea Region and has always been active here.”

As he spoke, he marked a location on the nautical chart.

”He was cornered on this island. Although connected to the chain, it’s a very small, abandoned island.”

”This is all the information I know. I hope it can be of some help to you.”

After Balazs finished speaking, he laughed awkwardly. Truthfully, he had no idea how this information could help Alka find the Treasure. He didn’t even know the basic map indicating the island’s possible location.

Upon hearing Balazs finish, Alka nodded, looking at the copied map in his hand.

Even though the information Balazs provided was really sparse, if it were another Treasure Hunting Team, they might have given up collaborating with him. After all, if they couldn’t get useful information from it, it was effectively useless. But for Alka, this information was enough for him to gain some understanding of the Treasure.

He appeared to be thinking, lightly tapping his finger on the map as if in thought.

Golden light emanated from the map, revealing new information.

The Treasure Information had indeed expanded.

[Treasure Information: A Treasure hidden by the pirate named Klian. This is his lifetime’s hoard, ill-gotten gains stained with the blood of innocents and vengeful spirits.

A [Holy Grail]-level Treasure, [Twin of Fear], is hidden here.

The Treasure is hidden in an unexpected place, a sufficiently safe location known only to him.]

The expanded Treasure Information let Alka know the name of this Treasure.

But the most important and crucial problem was that they still didn’t know which island the Treasure was hidden on. According to past experience, the Treasure Information rarely told Alka the island’s location. This type of detail wasn’t within the scope of information that expanded, so he could only find it himself.

Now, there were two methods.

One was to find the island that might contain the Treasure; at that point, the mystery would reveal itself with a blink of his eyes.

The other method was to obtain the maps of all islands linked to the Southern Cross and check them one by one—the most tiring but most effective brute-force approach.

Just then, a knock on the door interrupted Alka’s thoughts.

Chadite walked in.

Alka looked at her and asked, ”Is everyone back?”

”Everyone’s back.”

”Then call them in; we’ll have a small meeting.”

Soon, Chadite brought the others in. They entered one by one and sat around the round table, nodding politely at Balazs.

Facing the professional Treasure Hunting Team, Balazs sat silently, keeping his mouth shut. He decided to watch closely how this professional team hunted for Treasure and perhaps learn a thing or two. He was quite curious about Treasure Hunting Teams; he had seen some before but had never witnessed how they worked.

Alka began, ”I’ve already told you about the information on the Human Skin Map, right? Today, I’ve signed a contract with Balazs to jointly search for this Treasure.”

”Now, I’ll share the known information with you.”

Then Alka briefly conveyed the intelligence he had just obtained from Balazs to everyone.

”So, the most important point now is to figure out which island this Treasure is hidden on,” Chadite said, looking at the copied map in her hand. She already recognized that the map depicted the island itself; a detailed map of the broader region was now useless.

Alka nodded and shared the two methods he had just thought of with them.

Jason thought for a moment, then looked at Balazs beside him and asked, ”Are the people who remember those events still on this island?”

”Some are still here. In fact, I had forgotten some of this information myself and had to ask them again a few days ago,” Balazs answered truthfully.

Jason nodded and, after a moment’s thought, said, ”If you don’t mind, could you take me to visit them later? I’d like to ask them some questions again.”

”No problem, of course, no problem.”

Everyone already understood Jason’s intention; he wanted to see if he could acquire more information.

”Then, Mr. Balazs,” Chadite proposed, ”could you assist me in finding maps of related islands? I need to do some comparisons. This way, we might be able to find where the Treasure is hidden.”

Balazs nodded in agreement with Chadite’s suggestion. This wasn’t difficult for him. After all, other islands also had maps, though they weren’t publicly sold. But he was a businessman; although he had faced setbacks recently, his connections remained. Besides, this was Southern Cross Island, a Landmark Island connecting the nearby islands. Obtaining some maps here was relatively easy.

Then, the group discussed further, confirming their plan of action. After everyone received their task assignments, the short meeting concluded.
