Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 509: Chapter 253 Leaving

Today, the second team was heading out for the excavation.

Alka had arrived early, positioning himself on the Pirate Ship tethered behind their main vessel.

He had to figure out what to do with this ship.

Using it themselves was clearly impossible; they didn’t have enough people, nor did they have such a need. And to be honest, they somewhat looked down on this ship—it was too small. The Spells on it were also quite ordinary, with nothing particularly noteworthy. They had already plundered all the supplies from the Pirate Ship.

”How about we sell it? We could sell it to the people in town; this ship looks much better than the two they’re currently using,” Juanlu suggested after some thought.

Alka nodded; the suggestion seemed quite good.

”Alright,” he said. ”Let’s try that later.”

Since Balazden Island might appear around this time, Jason hadn’t accompanied the team to excavate the ruins. Instead, he waited in town.

After breakfast, he and a few others dragged the Pirate Ship to the town’s port.

”Yamu, so it’s you two here today! Been a while!”

As soon as Jason disembarked, he headed straight for the two town Hunters stationed at the port. Judging by how familiar they seemed, it was clear they had known each other for more than just a day or two. In fact, Jason knew almost all the Hunters in this small town, and was quite familiar with many of them.

”Are you familiar with that Pirate Gang? If you don’t mind some advice, Jason, it’s best to keep your distance from those pirates,” the Hunter called Yamu whispered in Jason’s ear.

Hearing this, Jason smiled and shook his head.

”No, we’re not helping them. That Pirate Ship belongs to us now.”

”Yours?” Yamu asked, a little confused.

Then he seemed to recall something.

”Oh, right! That bunch of pirates seemed quite interested in you. Did they try something?”

After all, Alka and his group had been here for a long time, so anyone in town with a bit of strength knew of their existence. Thanks to the frequent help from Jason, Alka, and their companions, their relationship with the townspeople was, frankly, quite good. They could even be considered benefactors. This was because Alka and his group had given a more detailed map of the Island to the town’s mayor. Because of this gift, they were well-received in this town. For these Hunters especially, that map was a great help; it had practically saved their lives.

”That’s right. They were foolish enough to attack us yesterday, but clearly, they were no match for us,” Jason said with a laugh, patting Yamu on the shoulder.

Yamu nodded gleefully. Seeing pirates attacked and eliminated was something almost any organized settlement or force was happy to witness. Although their town only had a few thousand people, the pirates hadn’t dared to attack because some of the townsfolk possessed decent strength. Otherwise, they would have been destroyed by pirate attacks long ago. Besides, it wasn’t as if the town had never fought against outside pirates before. Therefore, no one had a particularly good impression of pirates, even if this particular group had behaved very civilly and politely when they first arrived on the Island.

”So, would you be interested in taking this ship off our hands? We don’t have enough people to operate two ships, after all.”

Jason added with a smile, ”Since we’re all friends here, I’ll give you a good price.”

”You want to sell this ship to us?” Yamu asked, pleasantly surprised.

In an oceanic world like this, good ships were always in high demand. In these chaotic waters, many ships were built, and many were destroyed, so the demand was naturally high. Not to mention, that Pirate Ship was undoubtedly a Spell Ship, and one capable of long voyages at that.

The two ships they possessed on the Island weren’t particularly good; even long voyages in them carried a certain degree of risk. It was far too precarious. Despite this, the two ships were well-maintained. They had no choice. Their numbers were too few, and they lacked the means to acquire better vessels. Their Island’s only specialty was its relatively good Spell Materials. But with the town’s small population, the Hunters couldn’t venture out to hunt constantly. The yield from each hunt wasn’t large, so they couldn’t ensure a stable supply. Only Balazs would come by from time to time to make purchases. Even their current two ships were actually gifts from an islander who had found success elsewhere.

Now that they had the chance to acquire a better ship, they were naturally eager.

”Great! No problem. Wait here, I’ll go get the mayor.”

Saying this, Yamu strode quickly towards the town, while his companion beside him smiled and began to attend to Alka and his group.

Before long, the town mayor arrived, followed by several Hunters. Seeing Alka, he smiled and gave him a brief hug.

”My friend, you’ve brought me good news again!”

Among the Hunters following him was Bai Shi, who waved to Alka and his companions.

”This is called mutual help. Alright, come take a look at the ship, see if it’s what you’re looking for,” Alka said, leading the mayor to where the Pirate Ship was docked.

The mayor looked at the Pirate Ship but didn’t ask many questions. Instead, he walked around it on the shore for a bit, then asked, ”Do you mind if I go aboard and take a look?”

”Of course not, go right ahead.”

When they stepped aboard, the scene on the ship somewhat surprised the mayor. Apart from missing its sails, the ship was surprisingly clean; there weren’t even any visible signs of a battle.
