Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 529: Chapter 259: Promotion to Stage 3_3

”According to the changes in the data summarized above, power enhancement for those at the Third Stage will be significantly slowed. However, the enhancement brought by Treasures has not decreased. This means that those who possess Treasures will take a large lead over others of the same level at the Third Stage. Eventually, ordinary individuals might find it very difficult to continue enhancing their power. To improve, they must possess Treasures. There might also be other methods...”

Alka recorded these speculations in his notebook.

To verify this, I just need to ask Balazs later. This isn’t information worth concealing. Simon will also advance to the Third Stage in a few days. Whether he’s an exception will become clear from his changes. Therefore, acquiring Treasures for the others on the ship must quickly be put on the agenda. Jason has already effectively acquired a Treasure with the birth of the Crystal Dragon. If he wants to possess another Treasure, it must be as compatible as the Crystal Dragon for him to use it. This is equivalent to searching for a second Treasure, which poses a certain Difficulty. Currently, only Juanlu, Julia, and Matilda do not possess a Treasure. Among them, Julia and Matilda have even reached Nine Spirals without Treasures. Once they enter the Third Stage, their power will stagnate.

Having understood all this, Alka began checking the impact of his power enhancement on his Treasures. The Mirror Surface reappeared on Alka’s face. Then, the figure of the Dream Death God appeared on the Mirror. Alka transformed directly into the Dream Death God, feeling the changes brought by his increased power. The Dream Death God still caused unusual changes to Alka’s body, but the enhancement wasn’t as exaggerated as in the Second Stage. This meant the high-intensity enhancement this form previously provided no longer existed, though it was still a very good transformation. After all, the Dream Death God’s teleportation, the defense from the Cloak of Light and Shadow, and the soul-injuring Scythe were all excellent. Moreover, he didn’t actually know how to use a Scythe, but the Dream Death God’s Scythe felt like an extension of his arm, controlled instinctively. This undoubtedly improved his melee weapon skills. He must seek stronger creatures for simulation, not necessarily as comprehensive as the Dream Death God.

A Mirror, two meters high and one meter wide, appeared before Alka. Looking at it, Alka punched it. The heavy punch left the Mirror covered in cracks, but it did not shatter. The Mirror’s durability has improved, and its Magic Power conduction is better, Alka observed. Then... can I realize my previous idea?

The Mirror before him restored itself, and an indistinct Rune appeared on its surface. With the integration of the Rune, the Mirror Surface rippled like water. Alka gently raised his hand and reached inside. It was like reaching into water, but no arm extended from the back of the Mirror. At this moment, another Mirror appeared behind Alka. Its surface also rippled like water, and Alka’s hand extended from it.

Seeing this change, a smile appeared on Alka’s face. ”`It’s feasible! Completely feasible! If I can pass through with my physical body, then Chadite and the others can too!`” The delight on Alka’s face was evident.

This effect was possible because the inscribed Spell was one Alka and the others had acquired in the Wattawa City State. It was the [Link Seal], and its original effect was to create a connection between two objects. The effect was vague; after all, it was a Spell from thirty thousand years ago. Based on their research of some Vastva documents, Spells weren’t prevalent in the era of the gods. They generally used their Magic Power to communicate with Runes in nature, merging natural Magic Power for stronger effects. In simple terms, they used a method akin to Magic. Spells were more like an auxiliary means. But after the divine war, the world’s fragmentation rendered such Magic impossible. Spells took the stage. Of course, Alka and the others didn’t know what changes had occurred during that transition.

Alka applied that Spell to his Mirror, successfully linking two different Mirrors. Then, Alka integrated a very simple but strangely fitting Spell. It was [Wall-Penetrating], a Spell that allowed passage through obstacles. The thickness and material of the obstacles affected the Magic Power consumption. During the Second Stage, Alka had already completed this integration. However, the problem was that his control over the [Link Seal] with his Magic Power wasn’t strong enough back then. This meant he could only pass through using the Dream Death God form. The Cloak of Light and Shadow and the Dream Death God’s inherent Dream Attribute allowed him to travel from one Mirror to another. While still decent, its usability wasn’t great. In simple terms, it wasn’t that practical. Now that his power had reached the Third Stage, his increased Magic Power and precise control allowed him to successfully realize his idea.

”`From now on, I’ll call it the [Mirror of Passage],`” Alka decided.

A Mirror that allows others to pass through! My Mirror Maze strategy is becoming increasingly powerful! It’s no longer just a Mirror Maze for one person. At my current level of Magic Power and control... when it comes to real combat, I could undoubtedly build a Mirror Maze covering the entire battlefield! Especially in combination with Chadite’s absolute darkness!

Thinking of this, Alka’s expression grew increasingly wild.

Such strength should be enough for self-preservation, right?

Having understood the changes produced by the Mirror Surface, Alka shifted his focus to the Dream Catcher. However, understanding the Dream Catcher’s changes was evidently not easy to do in reality. Alka lay back on the bed. Closing his eyes, he entered the Dream World.

Upon opening his eyes, he found himself inside his Dream Bubble. Behind him was a massive, irregular, transparent crystal, five meters high and three meters wide. Inside the crystal, gold and silver Energy spiraled, rotating slowly like a pillar of light. It was no longer just specks of light as before. Around the Crystal Pillar lay a large amount of materials and various dream items. These were all spoils of war.

There was no choice. Upon reaching the Endless Sea, there were too many dream creatures. Even if he didn’t actively hunt them, they would come to harass their dreams. Alka was only passively defending; he hadn’t actively gone out to hunt at night for a long time. This was primarily because he had spent only a few dozen nights exploring nearly the entirety of the area around Broken Island. And he would occasionally notice mysterious gathering spots in the distance that would vanish by the next day.

Alka looked at his Dream Bubble. I must have been too tired when I was resting just now, and didn’t sink deep enough into the Dream Realm to notice, he thought. His Dream Bubble had become much larger, at least twice its previous size.
