Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 516: Chapter 255 Puppet Knight Order / The Egg is Broken_2

This included Alka and the others. Simultaneously, her perceptive abilities were exceptionally strong, utilizing Chadite’s silver ripples combined with Julia’s own. However, the issue was that she couldn’t sustain this ability for long, so it was reserved for truly intense battles. She was also able to fly and could perform Dream Realm Invisibility. Her only weakness was that she couldn’t fight at all.

Simply put, she was the central hub of the entire battlefield. An outsider to the actual fighting, she provided information and intelligence support to everyone engaged in combat. She was the eyes on the battlefield.

However, since her creation, she had never truly demonstrated her abilities, so they remained unverified. Previously, during battles with pirates, she was still calibrating, learning, and familiarizing herself with her capabilities, so she hadn’t participated. It was unknown whether her role was as important as Alka had intended when he created her.

In other words, the only one yet to be created was the 12th captain. Aside from this final one, the entire legion of Puppet Girls had been completed.

The happiest, of course, was Lucilia. Her Puppet Knight Order had reached perfection, bringing her a significant boost in power. Consequently, Lucilia had inexplicably become the second physically strongest person on the ship. Her small frame, paired with immense power, meant that once she was hidden, her lethal attacks would instill fear.

They had been sailing for nearly ten days and nights, yet they still hadn’t seen the so-called Southern Cross Island. The distance to Southern Cross Island might not be as short as they had thought. During this period, they also passed by an Island, but they sailed right by it without landing.

”Adjust the direction; don’t let the sea currents carry us off course,” Alka reminded from the lookout.

Following his words, the Sound of Dawn slowly adjusted its course to align with the direction of the flag. They had no choice. The more they sailed, the more they realized the Ocean truly was moving on its own. Even though they constantly maintained a forward trajectory, they would inexplicably veer off course without even realizing it. It wasn’t until they saw that the flag, which should have been pointing straight ahead, was completely askew that they realized their ship had gone off course.

Advancing in this manner, without the Guiding Banner to lead them towards Landmark Island, they would absolutely get lost eventually.

”In that case, doesn’t Landmark Island’s special significance become pointless?” Lucilia, who was nearby writing in the Monster Atlas, asked curiously. After all, from this perspective, maintaining a straight course on the Ocean was nearly impossible. With no reference points on the vast sea, who could ensure they maintained a constant heading? Wouldn’t the fact that Landmark Island never drifts with the currents then lose its meaning? Islands stayed still, but ships got lost, becoming unable to discern their direction.

Moreover, they had also tested the Compass and other guiding devices that worked in the Homeland Sea, finding them useless here. In this eerie place, the sun remained motionless, and the nights were even more bizarre, completely different each time. The moon appeared sporadically, and sometimes, other celestial bodies visually equivalent to the moon would manifest. The day was utterly silent, while the night was complete chaos.

Alka shook his head, indicating he also didn’t know. ”However, one thing is certain: Landmark Island always stays in one direction, doesn’t it? It’s just that our sailing direction is wrong. Given Landmark Island’s special significance, then there must be something that can guide us to the correct heading amidst these chaotic currents; it’s just that we don’t have it now,” Alka said thoughtfully.

He remembered hearing during a casual chat with Balazs that there was indeed such an item. It was something akin to the Compass and guiding tools of the Homeland Sea. But according to Balazs, it could only be obtained upon reaching Southern Cross Island, and even they didn’t have any spares. So, at that time, Alka hadn’t pursued the matter further. It seemed now they truly needed something to keep them on course while navigating the Ocean.

Lucilia, who was writing the Monster Atlas, suddenly stood up.

”What’s wrong?” Alka asked.

”The egg... the egg is about to hatch.”

”Which egg is about to hatch?” Alka looked puzzled for a moment. Then his eyes lit up. There’s only one egg on the ship, isn’t there? ”Jason is going to be a father—no, I mean Jason’s egg is about to hatch! That’s not right either... Oh, never mind!” Alka exclaimed, a bit flustered.

”I’ll leave this to you,” Alka said, turning to One.

One nodded.

The two of them quickly pushed open the door and jumped down. Grabbing the ropes that swung over, they used them to swing towards the aft castle. They quickly rushed inside.

Inside, the area by the fireplace was packed tightly. Jason’s group and the Puppet Girls were all gathered around, curiously watching. It was no surprise they were so concerned; after all, the egg had been on the ship for a very long time. The egg had been there for as long as the ship had existed. And due to some kind of Magic Power emanating from the egg, it occasionally caused a stinging sensation to those nearby, making it impossible to forget. Now that the egg was about to hatch, who wouldn’t be curious?

Alka and Lucilia also squeezed in. Alka’s shoulder dipped as Xuan settled onto it. ”Dad,” Xuan said.

Never mind. Alka had already given up on correcting her form of address.

Beside the fireplace, on a soft nest, the gradient-colored, crystal-like egg was wobbling.
