Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 492: Chapter 247 Withered Flower_2

”This corpse, aside from the fractures in the hands and thighs, doesn’t have any fatal wounds. It seems he didn’t die from injuries,” Matilda said after examining the skeleton.

”Wait, something’s not right.” She seemed to have found something else and bent down.

The tip of her serpent tail stopped swaying silently.

She then gently picked up a rib, observed its color, and even lightly sniffed it.

”It seems to be the effect of some kind of soul extraction. A large amount of soul passed through this bone, leaving some of its power within.”

Hearing this, Pororo curiously took the bone from Matilda’s hand.

He turned it over and over, even imitating her by sniffing it.

”Is it really that mystical? I can’t see anything at all.”

”If you could see it, you’d be a Physician,” Jason quipped from nearby, earning a kick from Pororo.

”Alright, alright, keep digging. We don’t have enough information right now. We don’t know much yet,” Alka said.

After Alka spoke, everyone dispersed and began digging again.

As they dug deeper, the entire ruins were revealed, uncovering more skeletons.

These skeletons, almost without exception, had not died primarily from physical trauma; at least, their bones showed no fatal wounds.

But regardless of whether the bones had fatal trauma or not, there were traces of soul extraction on them.

This indicated that most of them died because their souls were taken away.

As for how the souls were extracted and who did it, they could not know.

After all, they had never seen soul extraction. Matilda only knew the theory, not the actual situation.

Strangely, why are there only corpses here and not elsewhere?

Jason and the others speculated whether this place had previously been used as a cemetery.

Using a tower as a cemetery was not impossible. After all, it was an ancient civilization from tens of thousands of years ago. Who knew?

With the complete excavation of the ruins, Alka found that they were relatively intact. The damage was not caused by external attacks but by underground tremors.

After all, the collapses resulting from these two causes are distinct. The other two sites they had previously inspected, aside from the museum, had collapsed due to external forces, as if struck by a gigantic hand. This was different.

And Alka had already seen the golden light emerging from the stone cracks.

He picked up a shovel, walked over, and began digging gently.

”Why are you digging there?” Simon asked curiously.

That area already showed signs of collapse and was supposed to be protected.

”There’s a Treasure inside,” Alka said calmly.

”Oh, a Treasure, huh.” Upon hearing this, Simon nodded indifferently, continuing with his task.

Then he suddenly turned his head, his face full of surprise, and loudly asked, ”What did you say? A Treasure?”

”Treasure? Where’s the Treasure?” Jason also ran over curiously.

Everyone was drawn to the sound.

”Look, right here,” Alka said, pointing to the pit he had dug and the object emitting golden light inside.

Next to the golden object, a partial skeleton lay exposed.

Why ’part of a part’? Because it had no lower body, and Alka had only excavated the side of its upper body.

Everyone immediately leaned in closer. ”Don’t crowd! Don’t crowd!”

Alka fully extracted the object and held it in his hand. The golden light disappeared as he touched it.

It was a withered flower. The wilted petals still hung on the stamen, and even the stem had turned yellow.

If not for the golden light it had been emitting, it would have looked exactly like any other withered flower, indistinguishable.

”This is... a Treasure?” Jason asked.

Honestly, it was hard to believe. If it hadn’t been dug from the ground, a withered flower couldn’t have survived in the soil for tens of thousands of years.

”Its appearance is really hard to describe. It will definitely be at the top of the ’Least Noticeable Treasures’ list,” Lucilia suddenly said.

”When did that list come out? How come I didn’t know?”

”Just now. The previous top entry was my banner.”

At this moment, Alka suddenly felt something and sharply lowered his head.

The skeletal hand of the Priest suddenly grabbed tightly onto his ankle.

A pink mist burst forth. A Mirror Surface appeared on Alka’s face, and he instantly entered the state of the Dream Death God, reappearing a few meters away.

The entire process took less than a second.

Chadite and the others nearby also jumped backward in an instant to avoid it.

The skeleton in the pit remained unchanged, except for its arm, which had broken off from the act of grasping.

A few meters away, Alka suddenly exited the Dream Death God’s state. He looked at the hand bone on his ankle and removed it.

Samor Road, Samor Road, Samor Road... Road... The word kept echoing in his mind.

The whole word filled his mind, making it impossible for him to resist.

He struggled to resist, sweat dripping from his forehead.

”Alka’s in trouble! Quickly, help him!” Chadite shouted, being the first to notice Alka’s strange condition.

Lucilia’s body went limp. Her soul emerged, piercing into Alka’s body like a sharp blade.

She could see Alka was experiencing mental distress and prepared to enter his Soul Space, intending to help him resist.

This was something they had done a long, long time ago, and it had some merit.
