Chapter 474: Chapter 241 Broken Island Chain/Southern Cross_2

To be honest, he didn’t really care. Suddenly, he was taken aback. He didn’t quite believe in the Holy Mother. Could it be that he’d been found out?

He couldn’t help but ask, ”And what about me? When I prayed on the ship before, did I receive the blessing of the Holy Mother?”

Chadite looked at Alka, furrowing his brow slightly, with a strange expression.

”Of course, and quite a lot of it too.”

”Really? Haha.”

That’s good, that’s good. What a relief.

Upon second thought, he realized he was overthinking it. After all, he could use the Holy Sword, so how could he not be a believer of the Holy Mother? Besides, he had received revelations before. Come to think of it, does he really not believe in the Holy Mother? Alka couldn’t confidently say he didn’t believe at all. There was no reason not to believe in the Holy Mother, given her teachings, deeds, and demonstrated compassion. Moreover, the Holy Mother Church indeed treated him well, considering him as one of their own. So he really was a follower of the Holy Mother. Realizing this, Alka stopped worrying.

”Let’s talk about something else.”

”His cooking skills aren’t that great, quite a bit worse than Juanlu’s,” Pororo suddenly said.

His words made a few of them pause and turn back to look at him.

”What is it?” Seeing their looks, Pororo asked, puzzled. He then added, ”It’s really not as good, don’t you think?”

”It’s not as good as Juanlu’s, but do you think it’s appropriate for you to say that?” Simon, who was standing next to him, couldn’t help but lift his entire steel left arm and pat Pororo’s stomach.

At this point, Pororo’s stomach was quite round. One could imagine how much of the food from the table had ended up inside him.

At least two-thirds. That was a conservative estimate.

Hearing this, Pororo brushed away the hand patting his stomach. It was too hard, like being tapped with an iron rod.

He then argued, ”Food shouldn’t be wasted. We’re guests and should respect the host. There’s no better way to show respect than by eating the dishes our host prepared for the banquet.”

Well said. It left the others speechless.

”Simon, make a steel needle,” Pororo said, patting Simon.

”Why?” Simon asked. As he spoke, he raised his left hand and instantly crafted a steel needle.

Pororo took it and immediately began to pick his teeth.

TSK.

Simon rolled his eyes.

Pororo further complained, ”Next time, for something like this, you should get Jason to accompany you. He’s more suitable. This is the only way I can help you guys.”

Alka glanced at him and shook his head helplessly. ”You look more intimidating. And have you been learning bad habits from Jason lately? How come you’re becoming more like him?”

Especially this annoying look.

”Although we don’t know his real intentions, what he’s done so far is at least beneficial to us. We definitely owe him,” Chadite said, getting back to the main topic.

Alka nodded. That was indeed true.

No matter what Balazs’s intentions were, at least for now, he had shown goodwill and had genuinely helped them.

Thinking of this, Alka opened the item in his hand.

It was a gift from Balazs from when they parted ways.

Upon opening it, he found a flag and a book inside.

Alka picked up the flag and examined it.

It wasn’t a conventional flag but more like a strip of cloth. One end had ropes for tying to a flagpole, while the other end had nothing.

The long, blue strip of flag had a red line. In the middle of the strip, there was a Cross Star Mark.

”What does this flag mean?” Simon asked from beside him.

Alka examined it. ”There are Spells on it, woven with some kind of Spell Materials. The technique is unique, and the craftsmanship is very fine.”

That was all he could make out.

”Let’s look at the book first,” Chadite suggested.

Based on their earlier exchange, this book seemed more significant.

Alka nodded, put the flag away, and opened the book in his hand.

The book wasn’t thick; it felt very thin in his hand, about a finger’s breadth in thickness.

The cover was made with some sort of waterproof material, but judging from the material itself, it wasn’t very expensive.

”It’s actually written in the Homeland Sea common script!” Alka noted with some surprise, looking at the title on the book cover.

He only now recalled that throughout their entire previous conversation, they had been using the Homeland Sea common tongue.

Speaking of which, apart from their own language, the only other language the islanders in the town seemed to use was also the Homeland Sea common tongue.

Why specifically the Homeland Sea? And not the Southern Storm Sea, or the common tongues of the other Four Divine Seas? Even in the Dream Realm before, Alka hadn’t found an answer. The islanders had said in their dreams that the outsiders who frequently came to trade all used this language. Alka hadn’t managed to gather this information from the dreams of the merchant ship’s crew members.

He brought his thoughts back to the present.

Alka looked at the book cover in his hand.

It read: ’Broken Island Chain / Southern Cross’.

Judging by the name, it seemed to be a book about the Broken Island Chain and the Landmark Island, Southern Cross. The thickness seemed about right for that.

Alka flipped it open and took a look.

”This records some information about this area and the Southern Cross Landmark Island,” Alka said after a moment. ”It also incidentally includes navigation aid for the Endless Sea.”

Hearing this, clear interest appeared on the faces of Chadite and the others.
