Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 486: Chapter 245 The Mystery of the Variant_2

No matter which function of these two Treasures was displayed, it was already quite outrageous. And perhaps this was not the full potential of the Treasure. Because Alka strongly suspected that changing a person’s appearance to grant more extraordinary power might just be an additional effect. After all, it was well known in this world that people’s bodies were very easily influenced by the surrounding Magic Power. This was something Alka knew from the beginning.

The Frost bloodline he learned about in the Homeland Sea was due to their ancestors holding a Holy Grail Level Treasure related to Frost for generations. Even the Energy released by the Holy Grail Level Treasure alone could, after two generations, alter the family’s bloodline to a certain extent.

Then, there was the most typical example aboard their ship, Juanlu, who had the ability to rapidly restore his body by consuming large amounts of food Energy. Didn’t this ability also originate from his family’s bloodline? Even though the family had declined, the bloodline had diminished, and the Treasure had vanished long ago. Yet, this bloodline still lingered, occasionally emerging to strengthen the descendants.

A Scepter Level Treasure could change a Race’s appearance to grant even more dramatic changes. It was akin to directly transforming a human into another Race, which was understandable. After all, humans, or rather the humans of this world, were so adaptable that spending a long time in an environment with peculiar Energy would cause them to change according to that environment. And Scepter Level Treasures also possessed this power. He had no doubts about the Energy strength of Scepter Level Treasures.

The Realm of Pitch Darkness had already proven this. He strongly suspected that people like Lucilia, who didn’t quite appear human, were likely in that state due to mastering even more powerful Treasures.

Thinking this way, the changes in Pororo, Julia, or even Matilda seemed overly exaggerated. The people of Vastva had supposedly been holding this Treasure for generations, yet they didn’t seem to have changed so drastically. Could it be because their ancestors once possessed even higher-level Treasures? Like Crown Level? Such speculation was quite reasonable.

The Holy Grail Level brings about changes to the physique, with the external form showing almost no significant alterations, but granting some peculiar abilities, such as innately changing the attribute of one’s Magic Power. The Scepter Level brings about a greater strengthening of the physique, with some non-human changes in form—like ears, eyes, or skin—but still maintaining a humanoid shape. It also grants greater power and talent, transforming one into a long-lived Race. The Crown Level leads to a complete change of physique, with the form undergoing more drastic changes while retaining some humanoid characteristics—for example, affecting the hands, head, legs, or even the entire body. It also almost entirely separates the Race from humans, providing entirely new powers and talents.

These were Alka’s speculations based on the currently known information. The Holy Grail Level was almost certain, the Scepter Level mostly certain, and the Crown Level was entirely based on logical conjecture. Even if he was wrong, he felt he would only be half wrong.

This world was becoming increasingly fascinating, and Alka was growing more interested in discovering more Treasures. The strength and secrets of these Treasures might exceed his imagination. The sensation of unveiling the world’s secrets step by step captivated him.

He reined in his thoughts and calmed his heart. Alka stared at the Treasure Information, pondering how to acquire this treasure. Looking at a particular line of information, he thought for a moment and reached out to touch the golden light.

[The Item Whose Position is Above]

[Difficulty: Hunter (Second Stage)]

[Fame: 0]

[Treasure Information: Enshrined in the Great Temple of Vastva, the item is of the Quartered God, a Treasure representing one-fourth of Him.

This Treasure, one of the most preeminent among Holy Grail Level items, is the ”Winter Flower,” whose symbolic meaning is ”Above.” It is placed in the northern Blue Temple and controlled by Winter, one of the four High Priests of Vastva.

It lies beside the corpse of the Winter Sacrifice.] (Perfect)

It actually became perfect just like that. Alka never anticipated that this Treasure Information, despite containing a Treasure, would be so simple and yet achieve perfection. The Treasure was right beside the corpse of the so-called Winter Sacrifice, meaning the golden light’s location was at the Temple. And this corpse was clearly in the Temple as well.

The reason it became perfect so easily was because this Treasure indeed didn’t have any mechanisms to conceal it; the person controlling the Treasure had simply died there. As long as one found that corpse, the Treasure would naturally be discovered. In fact, it was just like those other treasures Alka had easily found before—because it was an accidental discovery, there wasn’t much additional information to understand.

He only needed to know that the golden light was here, where this place was, the specific situation of Vastva, and the existence of the four leading Priests. With that, all the Treasure Information had naturally been expanded.

But the orange light was different; it was something deliberately hidden. Unless the key point was found, that most crucial information could never be expanded. And one reason Alka had chosen to tap on this golden light was that he might have discovered the key point to the orange light’s hidden Treasure.

The information for the orange light Treasure explicitly stated that only the leaders of the four Great Temples—the four High Priests, who were equivalent to the highest authority in this city-state—knew of the existence of the Star of Opening. And correspondingly, they each controlled a different, powerful Holy Grail Level Treasure. Each Treasure was distinct, yet each corresponded to one-fourth of the Quartered God.
