Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

”Mr. Fang Zheng, I heard someone proposed to you?”

”Can you please not get involved in this?”

Looking at the bright-eyed Ruiko in front of him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.

”This matter is already troublesome enough...”

”So there really was a girl who proposed to you, Mr. Fang Zheng? How did you respond?”

”How did I respond...”

Responding to Ruiko’s inquiry, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but recall the scene at that time.

At that time, Fang Zheng’s response to Reiji was also straightforward.

”I refuse. We don’t know each other well, and we’re not familiar with each other. You say you want to marry me, and I can’t accept that.”

Fang Zheng gave a straightforward answer, but Reiji was clearly not going to let it go at that.

”I deny that. People of the opposite sex do not come together through conversation.”

As she spoke, Reiji raised the muzzle of the gun and pointed it at Fang Zheng.

”It’s through conquest.”

”.........”

Hearing this, Rem and Ram were both shocked, while Fang Zheng could only roll his eyes helplessly.

”Just to be clear, do you think you can beat me in a fight?”

”If I fail, then I’ll serve you as my husband.”

”Um... wait a minute?”

Fang Zheng nodded, then paused for a moment.

”So you mean that if you win, I have to marry you. If you lose, then you have to marry me?”

”Yes.”

”.........”

Is there any difference?

”No matter which way it is, I refuse. I never intended to marry you.”

Fang Zheng responded again, but Reiji did not back down.

”If you truly reject me...”

”What can you do about it?”

”Then I’ll kill all the women around you and then kill myself.”

”....... I have no grievances or enmity with you...”

Fang Zheng was completely speechless. What kind of nonsense is this like one-night stand lines? I haven’t even met you before, okay?

This is really headache-inducing...

”So what now, Mr. Fang Zheng? How did you handle it?”

”Oh, I locked her up.”

”Eh---!!”

Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s response, Ruiko exclaimed in surprise.

”Locked her up? Why?”

”What else could I do? Should I let her come and cause trouble for you all?”

If it were anyone else, that would be one thing, but Reiji is a sniper. Although Fang Zheng wasn’t sure if she was just saying it or if she was serious, at the time, Reiji’s manner didn’t seem like she was joking. Fang Zheng undoubtedly wouldn’t gamble on this, so he simply locked Reiji up—Reiji was quite cooperative in this, without any complaints.

”What a pity, it seemed so romantic...”

Upon hearing this, Ruiko couldn’t help but grumble, while Fang Zheng chuckled.

”Romantic? Once she blows your brains out, you won’t think it’s romantic anymore.”

”Hahaha... no, no, no, Mr. Fang Zheng, that must have been a joke, right? Generally, normal people wouldn’t do such things.”

”Do you consider a woman who traveled a long distance to Academy City to propose to a man she’s never met a normal person?”

”........ um...”

That really is a question.

”But Mr. Fang Zheng, you could also try dating her. She came all the way here, shouldn’t you give her a chance? Besides, she’s a very cute girl. I think you wouldn’t be losing out.”

”Not losing out doesn’t mean gaining anything. You wouldn’t understand.”

Fang Zheng shook his head and then looked at Ruiko.

”If you put it like that, I’d rather date you. After all, you’re cute too, and very pretty, with a much better figure than Reiji.”

”Eh? Eh?!”

Upon hearing this, Ruiko’s face turned bright red, and at the same time, Fang Zheng smiled and moved closer to her. He then reached out, lifting Ruiko’s chin to make her look up.

”So, Ruiko, do you like me? Would you be willing to date me?”

”I... um... no... that’s...”

Looking at Fang Zheng’s face coming closer, Ruiko’s face turned completely red, not knowing what to say. Fang Zheng slowly leaned in.

”Say ’yes’...”

Fang Zheng’s voice echoed like a spell in Ruiko’s mind, making the already flustered girl’s mind go blank. She just stared at Fang Zheng with a flushed face and then slowly opened her mouth.

”Well, um, I... I would...”

”Yawn...”

At that moment, Index strolled in yawning.

”Ruiko, I’m hungry.”

”Ahhhh---!”

Upon hearing Index’s voice, Ruiko came back to her senses, while Fang Zheng smiled and withdrew his hand, patting her head.

”Oh come on, Mr. Fang Zheng, don’t tease me like that.”

”So, do you think I’m teasing you? Or am I serious?”

”Uh...”

”Hahaha...”

Seeing Ruiko’s face turn bright red, Fang Zheng laughed heartily, turned around, and left. Ruiko was left standing there with a complicated expression, not knowing what to say. At that moment, Index walked over to Ruiko, curiously looking at her and then at the departing Fang Zheng.

”Ruiko, what’s wrong? Your face is so red.”

”No, it’s nothing...”

She forced a smile, trying to calm her racing heart, and took a deep breath before looking at Index again with a smile.

”Well, I’m going to cook now.”

”Okay!!”

After borrowing the kitchen at the research institute and preparing the meal, Index happily took Ruiko’s curry to the side and devoured it enthusiastically. Ruiko hesitated for a moment, then took another serving and walked out of the kitchen. Walking down the corridor and looking around, she soon saw Ram standing by the warehouse door at the end of the hallway.

”Miss Saten? Is there something you need?”

”Well... I wanted to bring some food to that girl... she hasn’t eaten yet, right?”

Honestly, Saten Ruiko was quite intrigued by Reiji too. After all, it was amusing to see someone she’d never met suddenly propose marriage. If Fang Zheng hadn’t locked her up, Ruiko would have already wanted to talk to her. But it’s not too late now; even if she’s locked up... they can still talk.

”Okay.”

Ram glanced at the lunch in Ruiko’s hand, nodded, and then turned to open the door. Ruiko took a deep breath and walked in.

Under the cold fluorescent light, the entire warehouse was very quiet. Soon, Ruiko spotted a short-haired girl with green hair, wearing a uniform, sitting on the floor with her arms around her knees, staring at the ground without moving. Her presence was so faint that when Ruiko first saw her, she thought Fang Zheng had casually left a realistic doll in the warehouse... but from the slight breathing movements, she confirmed it was a living person.

Upon hearing Ruiko enter, Reiji also lifted her head slightly, staring at Ruiko.

”Um... you haven’t eaten yet, right? Please have some...”

As she spoke, Ruiko placed the lunch on the table in front of Reiji, who nodded and picked up the spoon, taking small bites.

Seeing her willing to eat, Ruiko breathed a sigh of relief and then curiously looked at Reiji again.

”By the way, I heard you came to propose to Mr. Fang Zheng?”

”Yes.”

Reiji nodded slightly, her hand movements not stopping.

”Then why do you want to propose to Mr. Fang Zheng? From what Mr. Fang Zheng said, you two have never met, right?”

”It’s the wind, commanding me.”

”The wind?”

Upon hearing this, Ruiko was taken aback.

”Is that a code name? Or the name of a secret organization?”

”It’s not a person, the wind is just the wind.”

”Uh......”

At this point, Ruiko somewhat understood why Fang Zheng found it headache-inducing. Frankly, she was starting to feel a bit of a headache too.

”So, you mean the wind commanded you to marry Mr. Fang Zheng? Like a political marriage?”

”Yes.”

”Wait, is that even possible?”

Upon hearing this, Ruiko was completely flabbergasted.

”So you’re saying, whatever the wind wants you to do, you’ll do it? Even marrying a man you don’t know doesn’t matter to you?”

However, faced with Ruiko’s question, Reiji merely stared at her silently.

”---I am a bullet.”

”Huh?”

”A bullet has no emotions, therefore, no confusion...”

When Ruiko left the warehouse again, she was in a complete fog.

Now, Ruiko somewhat understood why Fang Zheng felt troubled; it really was... or rather, completely incomprehensible.

Who on earth is this person...?

Might as well tell Hatsuharu and Classmate Misaka, and everyone can gossip together.

Thinking of this, Ruiko eagerly headed to the door. However, just as she was about to push the door open and leave the office, she saw, in the distance, a girl in a black formal dress approaching. She had black twin-tails, with one eye covered by long black hair, while the other appeared as red as wine.

”Excuse me, Miss.”

Seeing Ruiko come out, the girl approached with a smile and greeted her.

”Ah, yes, may I help you?”

Hearing the girl’s greeting, Ruiko hurriedly responded, somewhat nervous as the girl’s tone and words had the elegance and grace of a young lady, which made the commoner Ruiko a bit tense.

”Is this the Quantum Neural Research Institute? Is Mr. Fang Zheng here?”

”Ah, you’re looking for Mr. Fang Zheng. May I ask who you are...?”

As she answered, Ruiko curiously eyed the girl in front of her. She was sure she’d never seen her before. Judging by her attire, she didn’t seem to be from Academy City either.

”Forgive my rudeness.”

With her hand near her mouth, the girl smiled slightly, then bent her head down.

”My name is Tokisaki Kurumi, Mr. Fang Zheng’s fiancée. Nice to meet you, I look forward to your guidance.”

”Eh......?”

Upon hearing this, Ruiko was first stunned, then...

”Eh, eh, eh!!!”
