Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

After buying clothes, everyone went to a nearby family restaurant for a hearty meal, and then headed to a nearby park. Felt and Megumin, these two troublemakers, were running around the park, while Misaka Mikoto and Ais watched them. The Priestess of the Goddess and Emilia sat on a bench enjoying the croquettes they just bought.

”This world is so wonderful...

Taking a bite of the croquette, Emilia sighed and looked around. Although she had only been in Academy City for half a day, she already had a deep impression of this world.

”Peaceful, tranquil, everyone seems so happy... If only Lugnica could become like this.”

”That won’t be easy.”

The Priestess of the Goddess nodded.

”But indeed, if our world became like this, the church wouldn’t need to raise so many orphans, everyone would be well-fed and clothed, and wouldn’t abandon their children...”

The Priestess of the Goddess stared dazedly at the girls who were both playing and leisurely walking down the street. In their world, only the young ladies of nobility could do such things. But according to Misaka Mikoto, almost everyone here enjoyed the same life... This was something the Priestess of the Goddess had never imagined.

Thinking of this, the Priestess of the Goddess looked at the bags beside her, the clothes inside were not only stylish but also made of comfortable fabric. Such fabric was something ordinary people in her world couldn’t afford, and it was the first time the Priestess of the Goddess herself wore clothes made of it.

”I wonder how many more years it will take for our world to become like this.”

”We should ask Mr. Fang Zheng when we get back. I remember he mentioned something about reforming... Hmm, it should take a long time.”

As she spoke, Emilia picked up the croquette again, but at this moment, she suddenly noticed a gaze from afar directed at her. Emilia curiously turned her head towards the direction of the gaze and saw a small figure briefly appear in the nearby alley, then hide away.

”What’s wrong, Emilia?”

”Something seems a bit off... I’ll go over there and have a look.”

As she spoke, Emilia stood up and walked towards the alleyway. The Priestess of the Goddess glanced at Ais and Misaka Mikoto not far away, and Megumin and Felt who were jumping around, and hurriedly followed Emilia.

Then, the two of them walked into the alley.

Even the alleys of Academy City were as dark and damp as those in their world, which strangely gave them a sense of familiarity. After all, in the cities of their world, alleys were like this, but in addition to being dark and damp and filled with trash, there were also drunken drunks and... malicious criminals.

However, at this moment, suddenly, a small head peered out from a nearby corner, looking at Emilia. Seeing Emilia and the Priestess of the Goddess approaching, she widened her eyes in surprise. Then, the girl grinned, showing a smile, and ran towards the two.

”Sure enough, good deeds reap rewards. Misaka Misaka expresses her joy and hopes that the kind older sister in front of her can give Misaka Misaka some food to replenish her energy.”

Standing in front of the two was a girl about ten years old, wrapped in a shabby blanket. She happily ran up to Emilia and the Priestess of the Goddess, skipping and jumping.

”... Uh, do you need something?”

Listening to the girl’s speech, Emilia and the Priestess of the Goddess were a bit dazed—they couldn’t understand what she was saying at all.

Conversely, the girl also... had no idea what they were saying.

”Eh? Unable to communicate through language, is this a foreign language? It’s really an unexpected surprise! Misaka Misaka expresses her inability to understand this language and is unable to find a similar language counterpart. Misaka Misaka decides to try using a universal language to talk to the kind older sister in front of her—HELLO? Can you speak English? Misaka asks the older sister in English with the Misaka-style English.”

”.....? Sorry, I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to express...”

”Eh? Still unable to understand? Misaka Misaka is really...”

However, before the girl could finish speaking, the rumbling sound from her stomach immediately made Emilia and the Priestess of the Goddess understand the current situation.

”Well... if you don’t mind, please have some?”

”Wow!”

Seeing the croquette Emilia offered, the girl happily raised her hands, grabbed it, and stuffed it into her mouth.

”Indeed, even when language doesn’t connect, the heart does! Misaka Misaka is thankful to meet such kind people in this era and expresses sincere thanks to the older sister while eating the croquette!”

”You can have mine too.”

Seeing the girl’s smiling face, the Priestess of the Goddess also handed over her croquette, and the girl immediately grabbed it and started eating.

”She’s a really cute child...”

”But she seems like a stray child?”

”Should we take her to find Miss Misaka and ask what’s going on?”

”Come to think of it, why does this child seem familiar to me...?”

While the two were talking, they saw the child finishing the croquette in a few quick bites, then bowing to the two.

”Thank you, kind sisters. Misaka has now absorbed enough energy to move, so Misaka must leave here. Goodbye, kind sisters,” Misaka said regretfully, as she had to escape.

After saying this, the girl wrapped in the blanket turned and ran, quickly disappearing into the alley. The two young women stood bewildered, watching this scene — after all, they hadn’t understood what she was saying at all. It wasn’t until the girl turned to leave that they realized she was saying goodbye.

”I feel like I’ve seen her somewhere before... Ah! That’s right!”

As the girl’s figure disappeared, the Cleric clapped her hands, suddenly remembering.

”That child looks a lot like Miss Misaka!”

”Eh? Now that you mention it, she does a bit... Could it be, this child is also one of the clones that Mr. Fang Zheng mentioned, made from Miss Misaka’s blood?”

At this point, Emilia also realized it. After all, not long ago they had seen twenty thousand sisters, but those twenty thousand sisters looked exactly like Misaka Mikoto, and the one now clearly appeared smaller, so they didn’t immediately make the connection.

”I’ll go bring that child over, you notify Miss Misaka.”

Emilia made the decision and told the Cleric, then hurriedly ran toward the direction where the girl had disappeared. The Cleric nodded and turned back towards the park.

However... the area around the bench was empty.

”Where are they?”

Seeing this, the Cleric was stunned.

Meanwhile, under Parker’s guidance, Emilia was jogging through the narrow alleys and soon saw the girl’s figure. However, to Emilia’s surprise, there was also a woman blocking the girl.

”Finally found you, little runt.”

Looking at the girl before her, Mugino Shizuri clicked her tongue, glaring fiercely at her prey.

”You’ve really been hard to find, little runt!”

”Waaah!”

Faced with the woman, the girl kept retreating.

”Never thought I’d be discovered, now Misaka’s going to be caught, if Misaka fails her mission it will be very troublesome, Misaka, Misaka...”

”Shut up!”

Hearing the girl’s incessant chatter, Mugino Shizuri snorted coldly and gave a glance to the short-haired girl in hot pants and a vest beside her.

”Nunotaki, take this girl away!”

”Okay, Makino.”

Following Mugino Shizuri’s order, the short-haired girl nodded and approached the girl, who quickly retreated, trying to return the way she came. However, just at that moment...

”What do you want to do to this child?!”

Emilia, rushing out from the alleyway, saw this scene and was shocked, quickly stepping forward to block the girl, glaring at the two young women in front of her. Although Emilia did not understand what they were saying at all, from the leading woman’s fierce expression and the girl’s fearful appearance, it was clear these two were not good people!

”Wow, kind sister!”

Seeing Emilia appear, the girl quickly darted behind her, clutching her clothes.

”Who are you?”

Seeing Emilia appear suddenly, Mugino Shizuri furrowed her brows, glaring at her with displeasure.

”How can you bully a girl? She’s so small, what did she do to make you chase her like this?”

However, due to the language barrier... it was essentially like a chicken talking to a duck.

”So it’s a foreigner.”

Hearing the foreign speech she didn’t understand, Mugino Shizuri snorted coldly.

”Academy City doesn’t allow outsiders to enter at will, but since your target is also that child, you must be a member of those anti-city forces. In this case...”

As she spoke, Mugino Shizuri raised her hand, and with her movement, green light orbs quietly appeared around her, gradually swelling.

”Then I won’t be polite!”

Accompanying Mugino Shizuri’s words, in the next moment, a beam of Atomic Collapse burst forth, shooting towards Emilia!
