From Arsenal to the Ball God

”Because your eyes are always squinting, every time you try to shoot for the far corner, it goes out of bounds.

You need to change your approach. Aim for the center, that’s how you might hit the sweet spot.”

”Haha...!” His words instantly evoked laughter among other players, and many assistant coaches turned their heads to chuckle.

Sagna does have a bit of a squint, and often his attempts to shoot for the far corner end up being off-target; it indeed seems quite apt.

But saying it like this makes Sagna appear a bit abstract.

”No way!” Sagna was unhappy, scratching the left side of his head with his right hand, ”I just think aiming for the far corner has a higher success rate.”

”No, no, no, this is ingrained in you.” Ma’el pointed at his hand, smiling: ”Look, even when you scratch your head, you prefer to use the back of your hand, always liking to move with an awkward stance.”

”Haha...!” The laughter on the training field grew louder, and their subsequent training continued amidst joyous laughter; the team’s atmosphere was excellent.

It seemed everyone had forgotten the upcoming championship match, just enjoying the pleasant afternoon and the wonderful moments of playing soccer with friends.

For them, there was no need to pay much attention to their opponents; as long as they adjusted well and played their best, they were confident in securing victory!

After training, Ma’el returned home for physiotherapy and massage.

In the past two days, he added half an hour of meditation to his training routine, aiming to relax his mind, summarize the past, and plan for the future.

The results of planning for the future had always been good; his goals were very clear, and he had a strong sense of direction.

After winning the Premier League championship, he aimed to pursue his first Level 5 skill, using it as a starting point to gradually upgrade all skills from Level 4 to Level 5, transforming himself into a truly one-of-a-kind player!

Additionally, he needed to patch up some minor areas, such as the fancy skills he’s practicing and the yet-to-be-mastered diverse shooting and passing abilities.

If he wanted to achieve true versatility, what he had now was certainly not enough.

By then, he would try comprehensive training to see if he could develop comprehensive ’shooting’ or ’passing’ abilities, with supplementary skills that improve weaknesses.

”And then, it’s the European Cup.”

He looked forward to it with anticipation; it was his first continental competition, and he longed to claim that extremely important championship.

These provided a clear roadmap for enhancing his personal skills and pursuing competitive honors in the future.

But... for some reason, Ma’el had never achieved good results when summarizing the past during meditation.

Numerous crucial moments, exciting scenes, coupled with a Championship and an English League Cup trophy, were all he possessed.

It felt like a lot, yet also little... Two completely different kinds of emotions intertwined in his heart, sometimes leaving him with a sense of disconnection.

Everything seemed to urge him to move forward swiftly, to achieve more important honors, to possess more, getting closer to his ultimate goal!

First, let’s win the Premier League championship!

In that case, in the England professional system’s four crowns, he would have two, and the domestic grand slam would be within reach!

At the same time, he aspired to claim all the personal awards in these four competitions; he’d already succeeded in the English League Cup, but the Premier League was still uncertain.

If achieved, he would be only two relatively simple steps away from the domestic grand slam!

Now, it’s time to adjust well and prepare for the championship match on the 28th... He’s long been impatient for the first top league championship of his career!

...
