From Arsenal to the Ball God

”What are you watching? This season is still pretty straightforward and brutal, doesn’t feel particularly special.”

”Alright, alright, nothing special... Are you saying he doesn’t have a high ceiling? Because right now, he himself represents the ceiling for Premier League forwards!”

”Last season, players could only score through long shots and dipping shots, occasionally sneaking a few in. This season? Not only are these two skills still there, but there’s also a variety of new scoring methods like volleys, outside-foot shots, headers, and more!”

”Not only that, his breakthroughs are no longer as straightforward as at the start of the season, but have incorporated a lot of new elements!”

”Yes, looking back now, he has become more and more well-rounded, and his style of play looks much better... Only those who have never watched him play would speak ill of him.”

”Can he be compared with Messi and Cristiano? I don’t think he’s there yet.”

”Why not? He has scored 51 goals across all competitions, even if not counting the 8 goals in the English League Cup, it’s still 43 goals. A forward with over 40 goals in a single season, who couldn’t he compare to?”

”Why not count the English League Cup?”

”There’s nothing to argue about, the player might not yet be at the peak level of Messi and Ronaldo, but don’t forget he’s only 18, and his skills, statistics, and performance at this age are superior to any player in history!”

”Yes, as long as he wins more honors, he has the potential to challenge for the Golden Ball Award!”

Many fans, reading these comments, suddenly had a peculiar feeling.

It seemed, unconsciously, more and more people began mentioning Messi and Ronaldo when talking about him.

What about Ronaldo?

Previously, wasn’t it constantly about the phenomenon, but now they directly mention Messi and Ronaldo?

Could it be... As his fans and Martin Taylor have said, he truly possesses the ability to challenge the best of the current era?

That day, many went to bed with a sense of shock, and fragments of Ma’el even appeared in the dreams of quite a few... This super forward has already been deeply etched into their minds.

Some even found that their emotions weren’t as intense as they had imagined, paled in comparison to the anticipation they had for him breaking records.

They analyzed within themselves and found the reason... This certainly isn’t the true ceiling for the player, he’s still young, and has a bright future.

Who knows, he might truly challenge for all awards, might indeed reach an unprecedented level!

It’s unavoidable, when a player appears in the public eye in such a manner, no one can help but wonder if he can really do something remarkable.

At ten o’clock the next morning, on the ”Sky Sports” program, Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, the two comrades-in-arms, appeared together.

”Honestly, when he broke the goal record, I was silent for a long time.”

Alan Shearer was the first to speak, watching as Reinke was about to say something, quickly interrupted, ”I just didn’t want my emotions to be caught on camera, so I turned down the invitation to give a live commentary for that match.

”At that time, my wife and children came over to comfort me, I asked them to leave... It felt like something very important inside me suddenly disappeared.”

”I actually thought my emotions would be more intense, but surprisingly, I was speechless.”

After saying this, Alan Shearer smiled, ”But when I saw he didn’t celebrate after scoring, but quickly grabbed the ball to fight for victory, I suddenly felt admiration for him.

”So when he scored the 36th goal and led the team to victory, my emotions completely changed, I applauded and cheered for him, forgetting he broke my record.

”This is a player that all football enthusiasts will appreciate, I’m very honored that it was my record that he worked so hard to surpass, chasing after me and Cole over 33 rounds of matches.

”Can you understand this feeling? Reinke surely can’t, he hasn’t scored as many goals.”

”Haha...!” Alan Shearer laughed heartily, as Reinke often teased him about his bald head, he’d seize every opportunity to retort.

With a helpless look, Reinke turned to Andy Cole, ”And you? Care to comment on being dropped from the rankings?”

”Dropped from the rankings?” Andy Cole raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence, ”I’m tied with Alan Shearer for second, just behind him, you know.

”Second is also quite an achievement, Reinke, you have to admit, we are still the ones others try to chase.

”Shouldn’t it be Ma’el?” Reinke questioned.

”Ma’el?” Andy Cole shook his head, using a special way to express his appreciation for this player, ”With five rounds left, I believe he will score over 40 goals.

”That’s unattainable for other players, so they won’t chase Ma’el.

”Surpassing me and Alan Shearer to achieve second place will be the new goal for Premier League forwards.”

”Haha.....” After speaking, he laughed together with Alan Shearer, both showing eyes of appreciation.

This time, they accepted their loss fair and square, with no resentment.

At that moment, the big screen behind them displayed precious images of the two when they completed the 34-goal record, full of joy.

Unlike last time, this time the photos rolled forward, slowly disappearing as if implying something.

Watching himself when he still had hair, Alan Shearer’s eyes suddenly welled up, and he smiled movedly, ”Our era has ended, a more excellent forward has taken the stage of history.

”He has proven to be more outstanding than us, I just hope we won’t fade from the memory of the fans.
