Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 696: Chapter 696: I’ll Get It Done for You

”You haven’t been in a good mood lately, have you?” Lydia Ingram asked like a friend, guessing the general situation.

Monica Usher stared at him, speaking directly, ”I really don’t like this atmosphere. Work is supposed to be my responsibility, yet it keeps getting delayed. It doesn’t even feel like a real job, no one wants to do it at all.”

Lydia Ingram wasn’t too happy to hear this, his old face fell, ”Even if you don’t like it, you’re still part of it.” Although this was the truth.

But as the president, could he say the upper beam isn’t straight, and the lower beam is crooked?

What Monica Usher was saying was nothing more than saying that he, as a manager, was ineffective.

Men, after all, have their pride.

”I’ll resign after the True Love series is over, I hope you can approve it,” Monica Usher said after careful consideration, ”I’m telling you now so you can prepare ahead of time.”

Lydia Ingram’s heart sank a bit, was the duck in hand about to fly away? His expression suddenly turned a bit somber.

Monica Usher glanced at the design drafts on the table, ”I’ll leave now, you go on with your work.” After speaking, she turned and left, as if staying even one more second made her uncomfortable.

”Wait!”

The woman stopped in her tracks. Without turning back, she asked faintly, ”What else is there?”

Lydia Ingram was becoming more convinced that Monica Usher was deliberately distancing herself from him. The project had just started, yet she was already talking about resigning. Didn’t she look so delighted when she first arrived?

”Since the drafts are all designed, let’s book a private room at The Sovereign Club and have a celebration there,” he had his own opinion, ”we mustn’t lose momentum. There’s no better time than the present, let’s arrange dinner there tonight and have some karaoke fun. You’re coming too!”

”...” Monica Usher found him very boring.

Before she could refuse, Lydia Ingram added, ”Aren’t you trying to imitate The Kingston Group? Then do it thoroughly, it’s best if Justin Kingston finds out! Show him that our team isn’t lacking either!”

The Sovereign Club was Justin Kingston’s territory, and at that moment only one thought crossed Monica Usher’s mind: maybe she could have a chance encounter.

”Okay.” She didn’t refuse, and then began to walk again.

Lydia Ingram’s gaze fell on her back. Ever since he learned of Ariel Chandler’s death being related to him, Monica Usher had changed, becoming distant and guarded.

But how could Lydia Ingram let a woman he had set his eyes on run away before he even had her?

Monica Usher’s bad mood was because the people in the design department were really lousy!

Poor work attitude! Poor work capability!

So this battle might not be won, at present, she could only place all her bets on Barbara Sutton...

That girl was going on a shopping spree with her money, not even bothering to call.

Monica Usher had been waiting, waiting for that girl to completely submit to her.

Because she was in a bad mood, Monica Usher wanted to do something that would make her happy.

So she picked up her phone and dialed a number, speaking in a low voice, ”Flynn, I want you to kidnap someone, make sure she suffers physically, ruin her face, take photos and post them online, so she can’t show her face in front of classmates and colleagues.”

”President Usher, who has wronged you?” The man’s curiosity was unavoidable, but he said firmly, ”Give me the name, I’ll definitely get it done for you!”

A cold light flashed in Monica Usher’s eyes, ”Hannah Aimee.”

”Got it.”

”Be careful,” Monica Usher reminded, ”she’s the mayor’s daughter, but she usually doesn’t have bodyguards with her. She works at the Kingston Group, you should scout it out yourself.”

”Understood,” the man snorted coldly, ”I don’t recognize the mayor, I only recognize you!”

Monica Usher ended the call, trusting that Flynn’s loyalty was steadfast enough to go through hell and high water for her, because Monica Usher had done him a favor.
