Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 669: Chapter 669: Can You Lie for Me?

She sniffed the thick durian aroma in the air and blinked at his profile.

Finn Morgan hates this smell?

Hailey Hale realized it late. She quickly got up, packed the fruit box, tied the bag tightly, and then hurriedly carried the durian into the bedroom.

She ran out again and immediately turned on the living room’s exhaust system.

”Hey, are you okay?” She rushed to the bathroom door and saw him washing his hands. It was obvious he had recovered, and she felt quite apologetic.

”I’m fine.” When Finn Morgan came out, the durian smell had significantly faded, ”Did you finish eating?”

”No, I put it in the bedroom.” She turned around and followed him, ”Have you never tried durian before?”

He didn’t answer, just glanced at the time on his wrist, ”It’s getting late, you should go to bed early.”

At this point, his phone rang. He took it out, glanced at the caller ID, and didn’t avoid it, answering directly, ”Hello.”

”Special Assistant Morgan, we’ve found all of Lydia Ingram’s ex-wives and sent them to the villa. They’re being treated well and even given wages. They’re very united now and say they’ll follow our instructions if necessary.”

”Alright, thank you for keeping an eye on them.”

”By the way, Special Assistant, we also found out one more thing.” The other person reported quietly, ”Ariel Chandler’s last call before she died was to Lydia Ingram. The call lasted five minutes, but we still can’t extract the content. I got her phone through the police station, but it’s water-damaged and is currently being restored.”

”Keep the phone safe.” Finn Morgan said, ”No need to restore it. I’ll figure out a way. Bring the phone to the office by eight tomorrow morning.”

”Yes.”

The call ended, and Hailey Hale returned to the master bedroom. She ate durian while watching dramas, her leg injury almost completely healed.

Just then, her phone rang too. She looked at the caller ID and paused before answering, ”Hello, Mom.”

”Hailey, where are you?” Her mother’s puzzled voice came through, ”Haven’t seen anyone at home, even the maid isn’t here. There’s a thick layer of dust on the coffee table.”

”You guys are back?” She was surprised, ”Didn’t you say you’d return over the weekend?”

”Wasn’t I coming back early to surprise you?” Her mother’s voice was filled with concern, ”Where are you? You haven’t been home for so many days?!”

”Mom, Mom... Don’t get emotional. I’m at a friend’s place!” She sounded guilty.

”Which friend? Give me the location now, hurry up!” Her mother was worried and anxious, missing her more than anything else, not knowing how her daughter had been living these days.

Hailey Hale had a headache. She couldn’t possibly tell her she was living at Finn Morgan’s place, right?

Who would believe they’re not up to something?

”It’s just a friend, it’s so late. I’ll be back tomorrow, everyone has gone to rest, you should sleep early too. Goodbye.” She hung up after speaking.

Her mother dialed her number again. She rejected the call and then turned off her phone.

Hailey Hale lost her appetite for durian. After thinking for a bit, she quickly called Mia Lane, ”Mia, are you asleep?”

”Not yet.”

”My mom came back early, found out I’m not home, worried and a bit angry.” She said softly, ”Can you help me lie? Just say I’m staying over at your place?”

”Okay.” Mia agreed, ”I’ll call her now, so she can feel at ease.”

”Alright, thank you.”

At the Hale Villa.

With an anxious mood, Hailey’s mother’s phone rang, ”Honey, isn’t this the landline number from Emerald Cove? Come and check it!”

The Mayor quickly came over and took a look, ”Yes, it is.”
