Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 667: Chapter 667: Life Only Bullies the Poor

Barbara Sutton listened to her words and instead felt very sorry and apologetic towards her.

She felt that she had been too much... holding the cup, she started to reflect on herself.

This was Monica Usher’s way with words. After all, she was more than ten years older, and her life experience was richer. As for this little girl Barbara Sutton, Monica Usher could handle her completely.

”Barbara, how have you been with Finn Morgan recently?” she tried to change the subject, her tone gentle like that of a big sister, ”This is something you can’t talk to other friends about; are you shouldering all this emotion on your own?”

Sure enough, at the mention of Finn Morgan’s name, Barbara Sutton thought of Hailey Hale. A trace of disappointment appeared on her face, and an involuntary pain rose in her chest.

Monica Usher took a sip of coffee and sighed helplessly, ”Life only bullies the poor, and so does love.”

Barbara Sutton lowered her eyes humbly.

”Here, take this.” Monica Usher handed her a bank card, ”There’s two million in it for you to use.”

The girl’s eyes widened in disbelief, looking at her, ”What do you mean?” Barbara Sutton had never seen so much money in her life!

”It’s very simple. Use this money to dress yourself up, learn yoga, fitness, learn foreign languages, work hard to improve yourself, buy beautiful high-end clothes, try high heels, get your hair done, shine.” Monica Usher’s smile was faint, ”Make Finn Morgan notice you, appreciate you, and like you.”

Barbara Sutton was shocked, but she had her own principles, ”I can’t take your money.”

”Then are you destined to be mediocre for your whole life?” Monica Usher hit the nail on the head, ”With your current salary, you still have to pay back Mia Lane’s 200,000, and if I’m not mistaken, you probably also borrowed 50,000. This 250,000 would take you two years of frugal living to pay back, right?”

”...” Barbara Sutton’s heart was struck.

Monica Usher used the most suitable tone to brainwash her, ”Barbara, how many twenties and thirties can a girl have? This amount of money is a big sum for you, but for me, it’s merely a drop in the bucket.”

She took a sip of coffee and continued, ”Even if I took it out for charity today, it would be normal, let alone giving it to my friend?”

”Barbara, I just hope you can live well. Go buy a fancy watch; wearing it will immediately enhance your demeanor.” Monica Usher said to her, ”From now on, don’t wear those fifty dollars flat shoes or canvas shoes anymore. Go buy some high heels. Clothes and shoes should be at least over five thousand yuan. The way that fabric drapes is completely different when worn.”

”They all say appearance doesn’t matter, but I don’t think so.” Monica Usher laughed, took another sip of coffee, ”Men are visual creatures. They judge women on first impressions, and inner qualities can’t be seen in just a couple of days.”

Barbara Sutton’s calm heart was thoroughly disrupted by her.

”You can take some courses, or you can study at home to improve your inner qualities.” Monica Usher said, ”But please change your appearance first, so Finn Morgan will have a fresh impression of you.”

But Barbara Sutton wanted to back down, ”He’s living with Hailey Hale.” This seemed to be her biggest obstacle.

”Ever seen couples living together for years and still break up?” Monica Usher elegantly crossed her legs, leaned gently against the chair back, and made a light mock, ”It’s very common, right?”

”...” Barbara Sutton looked up.

The two eyes met, and Monica Usher’s lips curled slightly, ”So what if they live together? It doesn’t affect arguing and breaking up in the future, plus their personalities are not compatible at all. Even if they got married, there’s a great possibility they’d go their separate ways.”
