Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 679: Chapter 679: Don’t Touch If You Can’t Afford It

”Honey, I want this one.” The woman’s voice was as sweet as honey, ”I also want that one, can you buy them both for me?”

”Buy, buy, buy, as long as you’re happy.” The man with a big belly, looking a bit short, had silver strands mixed in his black hair, ”Baby, anything you want.”

Barbara Sutton caught them out of the corner of her eye, watching as the young woman effortlessly got what she wanted with a few words.

This is truly a sick society.

But once this girl got what she wanted, it meant that people around her respected her and she was living the life she wanted.

So Barbara Sutton had a complete change of heart; since Monica Usher insisted on giving her two million, she might as well spend it!

It was she who insisted on giving it, it’s not like Barbara asked for it.

It’s better than selling your soul to an old man, Barbara, who has been in the big city for a while, also wanted to live a good life.

But she absolutely loathed old men; just looking at their wrinkled faces made her lose her appetite!

The two of them shopped quickly, paid, and left, making Barbara’s surroundings much quieter.

She walked forward, took a liking to a pink dress, an affection that rose from her heart, and she couldn’t help reaching out to take it off the rack.

”Don’t touch!” A sales assistant rushed over, fiercely scolding her, ”Don’t touch it! The fabric is expensive and the dress is a limited edition. Once you touch it, others won’t want it!”

Barbara Sutton was slightly stunned, then inwardly sneered; it was surely because she was dressed down that she was looked down upon, right?

It’s not like her face said ’pauper’ in big letters.

Calmly looking at the sales assistant, Barbara Sutton took out a card from her bag and waved it in front of her, ”There’s two million here; how much is the dress?”

The sales assistant scrutinized her, perhaps she’s hitched a rich man? It’s not impossible the card could have money.

So she immediately smiled warmly, ”The dress is fourteen thousand. Would you like to try it on?” A successful purchase means getting a commission.

”Hmm.” Barbara Sutton said calmly and assured.

But as the sales assistant took the dress off the rack, Barbara Sutton said, ”Sorry, I don’t want the dress.”

”Huh?”

Before the sales assistant could ask why, she smirked slightly, ”You touched it, and I find it dirty.” With that, she turned and walked away.

”You...” The sales assistant couldn’t help but curse, ”Clearly, you’re the clown, yet you turn around and insult me?!”

”Where did this nutcase come from?” Another sales assistant came over, looked at Barbara’s back with disdain, ”I knew from the start she couldn’t afford it, look at what she’s wearing! Junk from the street market!”

”No sense of occasion and she walks in without any embarrassment, acting all high and mighty!” The sales assistant angrily put the dress back, ”I really can’t stand people like that!”

Barbara Sutton heard those words and it made her even more determined to become wealthy.

As long as she’s dressed in high-end clothing, people would treat her with more respect.

Walking out of that store, she remembered the feeling of being looked down upon at that moment, understanding that with money, you can have everything.

She walked into the next store holding onto her card, her face showing firm confidence, ”Hello, could you get me this dress, is this size M?” She barely looked at the style, all she wanted was the brand.

Her tone was filled with absolute confidence, and the sales assistant didn’t dare question her because of her attire, promptly assisting her.

Without even trying it on, Barbara Sutton said to her, ”Wrap it up, and get me a pair of shoes, size 36.”

”...” The sales assistant quickly complied, ”Alright.”

After all, having done this job for a while, she’s met all kinds of people.

Even more absurd was the time a beggar came in to buy clothes, and astonishingly, paid over a hundred thousand with a card!
