Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 686: Chapter 686: First Meeting with the Future Son-in-Law

Slept? Who said that? Finn Morgan was utterly shocked!

”Auntie, why would you say that?” Finn felt wronged, ”I...”

”Nonsense! Didn’t I see something that would make me wait for you here?” Paige spoke righteously, ”Do you think just because you’re on Justin Kingston’s side, you can toy with all the women in the world? And you still deny it?!”

Facing her stare, Finn could understand her feelings, ”Auntie, Hailey and I are very innocent.”

”Only you know whether it’s innocent or not.” The woman was filled with anger, ”I just hope you act responsibly, and first, you admit it.”

”If I admit to something I haven’t done, isn’t that just lying?” He responded calmly.

Their eyes met, and Paige saw sincerity in his eyes, ”Finn, let me ask you again, what is your relationship with my daughter? How far has it developed? I want the truth! If you still wish to continue being with my daughter.”

Finn was totally puzzled, which part went wrong?

Outside the café, Barbara hadn’t left but found a spot to hide and observe the situation inside.

Finn explained the whole situation to Mrs. Hale, not lying a single word.

In short—

On that rainy night, your daughter lost her keys, and he kindly took her in.

Since then, your daughter slept in the bed, and he slept on the sofa.

That simple!

After hearing it, Mrs. Hale was stunned, a woman who could marry a mayor naturally had skills in discerning and judgment.

Finn was clear and patient in giving his explanation.

Paige observed his micro expressions, it really didn’t seem like he was lying, it all seemed plausible but was too far-fetched.

But the two of them went in and out of the supermarket together, shopping and buying groceries together, both unmarried, is there really no affection between man and woman?

”Auntie, regardless of whether you believe or not.” Finn said, ”At least for now, I am not dating Hailey.”

”What do you mean by that? You’re not guaranteeing you’ll date her in the future?” Paige asked, ”Do you like my daughter?”

Finn did not deny it, ”Liking her is natural.”

”Good, you finally admitted it.” Mrs. Hale’s feelings were mixed.

”I’ve always been honest.” Finn said, ”Hailey is frank and lovely, and very talented in comics, there should be few people who don’t like her, right?”

”Don’t talk so broadly, I’m asking, how old are you this year?”

”26.”

”You’re six years older than her.” Paige stood from a mother’s perspective, ”Hailey is my only daughter, I don’t want her to start a relationship easily, I don’t want her to get hurt, will you pursue her in the future?”

Finn didn’t know how to reply, ”When it comes to fate, it can only be left to fate.”

”You’re very easygoing?”

”...” Finn responded with silence.

Paige thought he might not like Hailey that much, just a slight admiration.

And Hailey doesn’t seem to feel that way towards him either.

”That’s best, please keep some distance between you all, to avoid getting trapped in a mire of emotions.” Paige said, ”Thank you for taking care of her during this time, from today onwards it won’t trouble you anymore.”

Finn felt a wave of melancholy sweep over his heart.

”You go ahead, don’t waste your time, I’ll have Hailey move back home, thank you.”

Finn met her gaze, ”Auntie, then I’ll go now.” He stood up, bowed, and then turned to leave.

Paige watched his back, through this first encounter, Finn seemed alright, but the daughter was too young, she wasn’t ready to let her daughter date.

As if once she dated, her daughter would no longer be hers...

Just as the anxious mother got up, the girl who was with Finn entered, walking straight towards this direction.

Paige met her gaze, not moving her steps.

”Mrs. Hale, there’s something I feel is quite necessary to tell you.” Barbara stood by the table, her lips slightly curved, ”Our Special Assistant Morgan has a fiancée.”
