Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 659: Chapter 659: Monica Usher Can’t Find Her Sense of Presence

Thinking that Hailey hadn’t arrived yet, Barbara asked puzzledly, ”President Lane, is Hailey not coming to the company today?”

”She went to Aethel Falls yesterday and got bitten by a snake.” Mia sat down in her office chair.

Barbara felt a twinge in her chest, bitten by a snake?! So Special Assistant Morgan didn’t come either? Staying home to accompany her? She hadn’t seen him while delivering documents earlier, and he’s usually here by this time.

”But you don’t need to worry, she used Dr. Shelby’s medicine and will get better soon.”

”Uh-huh.” Barbara was already feeling a twinge of jealousy.

Special Assistant Morgan didn’t come the entire day, and she kept letting her mind wander. Could they already be together?

Mia compiled the dietary preferences and restrictions of the designers, showing herself to be a very attentive supervisor.

Compared to the cohesion of the Kingston Group, R-Alan was not as strong.

At Aethel Falls, Monica was still searching for inspiration in the mountains. She walked towards the cabin and suddenly stopped in her tracks.

The area in front of the cabin was completely empty, with absolutely nothing there.

Moreover, the cabin door was tightly shut, devoid of any signs of life. Shouldn’t they be cooking by this time?

In a moment, she saw a middle-aged man bringing a family of three to the cabin, then helped them unlock the door...

The family of three carried their luggage inside.

So Mia and the others had left??

Had they completed their design??

This made Monica a bit anxious, she quickly returned to the guesthouse and nervously told everyone, ”We need to hurry up, we can’t let the Kingston Group get ahead.”

However, everyone just looked at her calmly and didn’t respond.

Monica furrowed her brows slightly, feeling that they weren’t taking her seriously, ”Do you all have something to say?”

After a few seconds of silence, a short-haired woman spoke up, ”Don’t be so opportunistic, just do the work well, we’re not your pawns.”

”...” Monica felt her chest tighten, why were the people from R-Alan all so difficult!

She used to be Vice President at the Kingston Group, where everyone yielded to her every command.

In the city center.

Around five in the afternoon, Barbara finished work.

She first returned to her rented apartment, took a shower, changed into the most expensive dress in her wardrobe, and applied some light makeup. Compared to those designers, her only advantage was her youth.

The designers at Kingston Group ranged in age from 30 to 50, most had settled down in the city, and some even had kids who could already help out in the kitchen.

Barbara had always admired the designers at Kingston, each of them had their own signature work, they were all top graduates, considered leaders in the industry.

As the assistant to the Vice President, Barbara had interacted with them, but interactions didn’t equate to friendships.

Having more friends means more connections, so she didn’t want to miss today’s opportunity that the company was providing.

If she could make a few friends through this gathering, it would be a great thing.

All of a sudden, Barbara found herself envying Mia, because she was so well-connected, knowing lots of people; even the mayor’s daughter was a fan of hers, and the genius doctor Ian treated her with utmost respect.

She finally believed that one’s birth didn’t determine their future, it was all about one’s own efforts.

The Sovereign Club is a top-class entertainment venue under the Kingston Group, renowned not only in Riventhal but around the world.

The place was uniquely luxurious, with grandeur around every corner; it was frequented by people of status and societal position, requiring a VIP card for entry, not just money.

CEO Kingston chose to hold the gathering here, highlighting the importance he placed on this project.

The designers were all very excited and took some photos at the entrance.

At this moment, a simple meeting was taking place in a lounge; CEO Kingston and President Lane were inside, but Barbara didn’t enter, because no one called her in and the meeting was related to design drafts.
