Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 685: Chapter 685: What’s Your Relationship with Hailey?

”There’s a clause in this contract that’s not clearly defined,” Finn Morgan handed the contract to the middle-aged man opposite him, speaking gently, ”If there’s a delay in the project timeline, who should bear the loss?”

”Thank you for the reminder, Special Assistant Morgan.” The other party looked at it seriously, ”We’ll draft the contract again.”

”And for this case, we also have a few suggestions for your reference.” Saying this, Finn Morgan took out another document...

”Alright, please, go ahead.”

Time ticked by as they discussed work.

Paige finished her coffee, still waiting for Finn Morgan.

Barbara Sutton, wearing a luxury brand dress, sat upright beside Finn Morgan, listening carefully to their conversation, occasionally jotting down notes, and glanced with the corner of her eye at someone sitting not far away.

Hailey Hale already left, why hasn’t her mother gone? Is she waiting for Finn Morgan?

Barbara Sutton was not happy, holding in a breath of air, hoping Finn Morgan wouldn’t meet Hailey Hale’s mother.

It always felt like a bit of a meet-the-parents scenario, and Barbara’s jealousy began to stir.

But some things were beyond Barbara Sutton’s control.

The conversation with the client was nearing its end, both parties stood up and shook hands.

The other party said, ”Special Assistant Morgan, please thank CEO Kingston for me. I’ll revisit the contract and look forward to a fruitful cooperation.”

”Yes, looking forward to it,” Finn Morgan was composed, and Barbara Sutton stood by with a smile, like a capable assistant.

Hailey’s mom finally saw them coming her way. Finn Morgan had already noticed Hailey leaving and was aware that Hailey’s mom had been sitting there for a long time.

He suspected she might be waiting for him, but there was no reason to.

”Mr. Morgan, please hold on,” Paige stood up just as Finn Morgan was about to pass by her.

Finn Morgan stopped in his tracks, ”Hello, ma’am.”

Barbara Sutton stopped too, maintaining a polite yet slightly awkward smile, quietly leaning her weight towards Finn Morgan, still not greeting the elder.

Every little detail fell into Paige’s eyes, what was this girl trying to express?

But at this moment, she only had eyes for Finn Morgan, smiling as she asked, ”Would you mind a quick chat? It won’t take long.”

Finn Morgan couldn’t refuse, ”Sure.” He sat down in the seat opposite where Hailey had been, then looked at Barbara Sutton, ”You can head back first.”

”...” She stood there motionless.

Paige also sat down, realizing this girl really lacked awareness, ”Miss, if you need to wait, please wait outside. I have something to discuss with him.”

Barbara Sutton snapped back to reality and was about to leave when Finn Morgan said, ”No need to wait, you can head back yourself.”

”Alright.” She had no choice but to leave with the documents.

If it hadn’t been for running into Hailey Hale and her mother today, maybe she could have had a cup of milk tea with Finn Morgan.

Paige watched Barbara Sutton walk out of the café before seriously turning her gaze to Finn Morgan, ”Would you like something to drink?”

”Thank you, ma’am, I just had something,” Finn Morgan looked at her with a smile.

The middle-aged woman said, ”Then let’s get straight to the point.”

Why did it feel like a bit of an interrogation? Finn Morgan was prepared, sitting up straight like a well-behaved boy next door, ”Please go ahead, ma’am.”

”What is your relationship with Hailey?” The question was very direct, her eyes fixed on him, leaving no room for deceit.

”...” Finn Morgan was genuinely surprised, why ask this? Had she seen something?

”Is this question that difficult? Do you need that long to think?” Paige frowned, initially holding onto a sliver of hope, now it seemed, that hope was shattered, they were really together!

”Ma’am, if I said we’re just friends, would you believe it?” Finn Morgan asked.

”Bastard!” Paige didn’t want to strain her relationship with her daughter, but some emotions could be vented on Finn Morgan, ”You’ve already slept together, and you say you’re just friends?! You don’t want to take responsibility?”
