Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 363: Chapter 363: Troublesome Mother-in-Law and Daughter-in-Law Relationship

”The position of the group’s vice president cannot be given to you.” This was the biggest concession Kristina Kingston could make. Ultimately, it was still full of distrust towards Mia Lane.

Before Mia could speak, Justin Kingston said, ”Mom, I’ve already made my decision on this matter. I believe in Mia; she has the ability.”

”I said no, and that’s final.” Kristina’s expression shifted slightly, and her tone turned a bit colder. ”Do you believe what she just said? An orphan? No foster parents?”

”I believe her.” Justin’s tone was firm.

Mia was very moved, and her expression remained calm.

”She says she won’t do anything to hurt you, but human nature often has its weaknesses. A person with such a simple background is often not simple. Such good medical skills, why stay by your side?” Kristina felt that Mia approached her son with an agenda. ”You’re blinded by love.”

Mia knew she couldn’t explain away the doubts; she could only prove herself through actions.

As for the position of the group’s vice president, Mia was never interested in it from the start.

”Mom.” Justin was unhappy. He had his own judgment. ”Giving the vice president position to Monica Usher is no longer appropriate. Her obsession with me will affect her work state.”

On this point, Kristina had also carefully considered it and could only painfully accept it.

Monica Usher had completely lost her composure yesterday, ignoring the bigger picture. She was no longer the girl who thought of the Kingston family and Justin in every way.

Kristina felt a bit disappointed in her.

”Then choose someone else, but it can’t be Mia,” Kristina insisted, keeping her stern face. ”She’s only suited to stay home and take care of the family and children. She should avoid being in the limelight.”

This sentence meant she tacitly approved the marriage.

Just as Justin was about to say more, Mia squeezed his hand. She spoke softly, ”Auntie, I understand you. You’re doing this for the Kingston family’s good.”

She smiled, speaking with humility and confidence, ”But I’ll prove through my actions that I’m not a bad woman. I approach Justin simply because I love him and want to spend my life with him.”

”In the adult world, there’s no such thing as love,” Kristina chuckled. ”Don’t make it sound so pure and innocent. It’s all about weighing pros and cons. You’re lucky my son doesn’t dislike you.”

The conversation felt a bit awkward.

”Madam! Mr. Kingston, Miss Lane! Breakfast is ready!” Mary’s bell-like voice came over.

It was like a saving grace, easing the tension in the living room.

Justin held Mia’s hand and stood up. Kristina also got up, and everyone walked silently toward the dining room.

Mary observed the expressions of the three; it seemed like she’d have to mediate later.

Today was an extremely beautiful day. Most of Kingston Group’s employees were on holiday.

The boss had handed out money, and the malls under their group were holding sales, so it was packed! The marriage indeed felt like a city-wide celebration.

In this wave of national euphoria, everyone offered their blessings to CEO Kingston and Mrs. Kingston!

They hoped every anniversary would be full of benefits.

”Even though I didn’t marry CEO Kingston, I’m spending the money he gave. I guess that makes me half his woman?”

”Hahaha, then me too!”

”CEO Kingston has quite a few women around!”

”So many women heartbroken, handing out money is a sort of consolation!”

”I really envy Mrs. Kingston, getting to see such a handsome man first thing every morning.”

In the hospital, in a certain VIP room.

Monica Usher felt quite unlucky, as if she had somehow become entangled with the hospital recently.

Her hand had a total of ten stitches. As the anesthetic wore off, it was a little painful and swollen, but none of this compared to the pain in her heart.

Just now, she forcibly took the phone from Barbara Sutton’s hand and saw the news online.

Employees on holiday, money being handed out, and malls offering huge discounts!

Such benefits were unprecedented since the founding of the Kingston Group!

A surge of jealousy welled up inside her, sour and bitter, making her so upset it felt as though she’d break down.
