Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations

Chapter 183: Chapter 183: There’s Something Wrong with the Medicine

Kristina Kingston looked up at him, ”Speak.”

Jerry Garcia reported, ”Seven years ago at a charity dinner, Monica Usher drugged Mr. Kingston’s drink, and due to a mix-up, Mia Lane ended up in that room, becoming Mr. Kingston’s antidote and subsequently got pregnant with the two kids.”

”Was she forced?” Kristina Kingston composed herself, ”Did they meet by coincidence? It wasn’t Mia Lane’s plot?”

”They were completely unacquainted before this.” Jerry assured her, ”This is the video evidence from seven years ago that proves it. Please have a look.”

Kristina Kingston reached for the tablet, and as she clearly saw the evidence, her blood pressure skyrocketed, and her eyes were filled with disbelief.

Monica Usher drugging her son? She remained unflustered as she poured the white powder into the wine glass, gently shook it, and then left with the glass.

Her action of handing over the wine glass was also recorded by the surveillance.

At this moment, Kristina Kingston’s feelings towards Mia Lane became complex.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Mia Lane transformed into a busy little bee, happily cutting and washing vegetables.

Justin Kingston got off work early today; he also came to the kitchen to lend a hand, helping her carry dishes, add condiments, control the heat, and occasionally help her turn the spatula in a pan.

”You know this stuff?” Mia Lane was surprised.

”We’re all ordinary people, living in this world, aren’t the basics just the daily necessities?”

Mia Lane laughed, ”You certainly can grace the living room, and enter the kitchen.”

By six o’clock in the evening, a table full of homemade stir-fries was ready, full of color, aroma, and flavor.

Mia Lane specially made the sweet and sour ribs and fish-flavored eggplant that Kristina Kingston served herself last time; this time the taste was even better.

Chive and bean sprout stir-fried vermicelli, Kingston-style shredded pork, minced pork water spinach, garlic golden needle mushrooms... Sixteen dishes filled the table.

”Go wash your hands.” Justin Kingston said to her, ”I’ll serve the rice.” Tonight, he resembled a warm-hearted man.

The servants were basically not needed in the kitchen.

Kristina Kingston watched her son bustling about and couldn’t quite say anything; Monica Usher wanted to scheme against him, yet Mia Lane found favor.

The dinner was still very warm and cozy, Justin Kingston’s appetite increased, constantly praising his wife’s cooking skills.

Kristina Kingston watched her son eating mouthful after mouthful of food, and she felt gratified.

She herself also ate two bowls of rice; every dish was to her liking.

Justin Kingston was still in the dark, unaware of the turbulent undercurrents beneath the calm surface, and that his wife’s departure was already certain.

Next morning.

Monica Usher saw Justin Kingston arriving at the company, she couldn’t hold back and dialed Kristina Kingston’s phone number, ”Auntie, how are you feeling today? Any better?” She was probing for information.

”Pretty good.” Kristina Kingston was in a good mood, ”Consistently taking medication and gradually recovering, it’s a process that can’t be rushed.”

In fact, she had already forgiven Monica Usher for drugging her son; as a woman, she could even understand her.

Pretty good?

This puzzled Monica Usher; she had clearly added iodine tincture, which corrodes the skin, to the medicine bottle. The skin won’t shed iodine; instead, the medicine will cause serious damage to the skin. But why did she say pretty good?

After a brief chat, she hung up the phone using work as an excuse.

Sitting in the office chair, Monica Usher’s elegant face was filled with complexity; should she go again?

If Mia Lane completely healed Kingston’s aunt, then she’d really have no chance.

Clearwater Bay, warm sunlight embraced the retro villa.

In the upstairs pharmaceutical research room.

Mia Lane placed all the developed medications in a custom box, marking them according to application position, so that everything was orderly once the box was opened.

Finally, it was over; barring any accidents, once these medications were used up, she would be completely healed.

She handed the box to Mary, explaining in detail, ”I’ve written clearly, for example, this medicine applied to the waist is divided into three types. In the first week, apply bottle number 1; in the second week, switch to bottle number 2; and in the third week, use bottle number 3. Even if it looks like it’s completely healed, you must persist in applying for a week.”

Mary held the box, her heart full of gratitude, ”I’ll remember, thank you, ma’am.”

At this moment, Kristina Kingston entered Mia Lane’s line of sight; she walked over, her aura a bit cold.
