The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

The sudden discovery that Queenie had picked Klaus as her life partner sent shockwaves throughout every corner of the earth.

Who is Klaus Hanson?

Many asked this question over a year ago when his name suddenly appeared on the city, regional, and Union charts. It was a pivotal moment in warrior history when a mere Ascendant appeared on the charts.

Then, he went ahead and single-handedly cleared a forbidden zone. But it wasn’t just once—he did it twice, both times against greater odds.

Next, he braved a tide of zombies and protected Alkadia City from dire odds.

And ever since then, he only kept moving, climbing the ranks to the point where he single-handedly faced an entire alliance of thousands of human warriors and wiped them out.

Now, his status has risen even further, as the leader of the Overlords, the strongest human on Earth, has just announced that Klaus is her man.

“That is something… It was totally unexpected yet strangely cute and perfect. Why is that?” KKKickinIt said with a shocked yet accepting expression.

“It’s because I have met many men, but only Klaus was able to shake my heart,” Queenie smiled, and then she said something into her communication device.

A few seconds later, all screens were hijacked, and for the welcome ceremony arranged for the Moon Borns, a white-haired young man appeared on the screen, standing atop a tall mountain.

Klaus stood tall with his hands clasped behind his back. He was wearing a coat, and the air blew through it, making it flutter behind him like a hero’s cape.

All around him, pointed swords and crescent discs could be seen zipping through the air with lethal efficiency.

Bodies of thousands of monsters and beasts lay dead, each with single cuts lining their bodies. It was evident they all died from a single strike.

Strangely, all the monsters and beasts lying on the ground were either at the Transcendent stage’s peak or the Ascendant rank’s early stages.

There were thousands of them, and from the way it appeared, Klaus was taking on the entire Tier 7 Forbidden Zone all by himself.

This was a shocking sight to many who knew just how harrowing Tier 7 Forbidden Zones can be. In fact, although the Tier 10 beasts were still at the beginner stage, Klaus was killing them like bugs.

This proved that even Tier 8 Forbidden Zones, where the most harrowing dangers lie, wouldn’t be much of a hassle for him.

Perhaps Tier 9 Forbidden Zones would be where he would face real challenges. But not the current forbidden zone he was in.

All over the world, everyone watched in stunned silence as Klaus slaughtered thousands of monsters and beasts down to the last one.

It took him two hours, but when he was done, not even a trace of blood could be found on his body.

This was because, while he was standing atop the mountain, his mind was controlling thousands of weapons, each killing with lethal precision.

All spirit masters around could only watch in stunned silence as he slaughtered through the forbidden zone until the last monster or beast was down.

The screens shifted away from him and then back to the controversial news.

“And that is why I chose him. With him by my side, protecting the Earth and everything it contains wouldn’t be hard at all.

I love him, and I know he loves me. So until Klaus chooses to leave Earth and never return, then know that I will forever remain a protector of Earth and will not hesitate to put my life on the line to defend it,”

Queenie smiled one last time before walking away.

He still had to attend to his guests, who had finally realized that, though they had the strongest warriors, there was someone they could not be arrogant around, and that person was Klaus.

The display he had given them was just too much for them to fathom.

In fact, those who were previously unconvinced that Klaus was dangerous had finally realized that perhaps the brat was someone worth fearing.

Of course, KKKickinIt, who was known for controlling the narrative, added a few words that made everyone look at Klaus in a new light.

“There you have it, folks. Klaus Hanson is now capable of taking on an entire Tier 7 Forbidden Zone, and from what I’ve heard, his friends are also monsters in their own right.

Now, I don’t know what you all think, but I say if Klaus can take on an entire Tier 7 Forbidden Zone all by himself, then who is to say he cannot do more than that?

I say all those thinking of going after him for taking the apple of their eye should just save their own lives and hide somewhere.

Klaus Hanson is the real deal, and when he returns tonight, I will be sure to get a few words out of him. We single people would like to know how he was able to pull off an Overlord.

He managed to tame such a tigress, and we single people can learn a few things from him. I know I will, so what about you?

This is KKKickinIt with the controversial news; see you in the evening.”

Queenie made her way straight to a large hall where the Ascendants, her sister, and her mother were seated in what appeared to be a meeting of some kind.

“You are finally here,” Queen Lunera said, making Queenie nod with a smile.

“Everyone, welcome once again to Earth. Though the welcome ceremony we had in mind didn’t go as planned, at least we managed to spice up your few hours with a display from the most troublemaker you will ever meet,” Queenie said, and everyone in the hall laughed.

“I have to say, you Earthlings know how to welcome a person. And that Klaus is actually very monstrous.

To think, the last time we saw him, he was just a Grandmaster, but now he’s a Great Sage. This is truly a nice welcome display,” one of the Grand Elders said.

She is Grand Elder Zeloria, one of the beautiful ladies who witnessed Klaus fight against the heavens during Queenie’s tribulation.

Just as humans call their Ascendents “Overlords,” the Moonborn call theirs “Grand Elders.”

“True. The last time we saw him, he was just a child… It looks like he has now become a man and a monster… even more monstrous than most of us,”

Grand Elder Nyselle, one of the elders who was keen on attacking Earth until she saw Klaus’s display, also said, shaking her head.

From the two-hour video they saw of Klaus handling the monsters, they could tell that killing them wouldn’t be too hard if he wanted to.

“Well, Klaus has always been a monster from the day he awakened. His friends will actually be present in a few hours’ time.

If you want to know more about his adventures, they will be the best people to answer you,” Queenie said, and the Grand Elders nodded.

“Then we can start the meeting now. There is a lot to talk about and a lot to do, so why don’t we start with the current nature of the events on the moon?”
