Chapter 569: Chapter 570: The Director Kneels

Seeing the police officers appear before him, Lin Chen was not surprised.

He held his phone, quickly sent a text message, and then casually tucked the phone into his pocket as he watched the officers.

Wadi and his son were the type to hold grudges, so there was no way they would let him off.

However, Lin Chen was waiting for their revenge. If they had let it go, Lin Chen would have found it uninteresting to play along.

The leading officer took out his phone, compared it briefly, and excitedly said, ”It’s him, take him back with us.”

Lin Chen calmly asked, ”Hold on, why are you arresting me?”

”We’re arresting you because you’re suspected of assault and extortion. Please come with us to the station for an investigation.”

Lin Chen let out a cold laugh, ”Officer, I abide by the law. When did I ever assault or extort anyone? You need evidence to arrest someone.”

Hearing Lin Chen’s words, the officer’s face twisted into a snarl, ”Kid, you know very well what you’ve done. I don’t know if your brain is waterlogged or you’ve gone crazy to try extorting the chief of police. You must be tired of living.”

At that moment, Lin Chen feigned a sudden realization, ”So you’re talking about that! That wasn’t extortion; I was just live-streaming for Chief Vadi. I took on three at once; you weren’t there, and the scene was really explosive.”

By now, quite a few people had gathered around, whispering among themselves after hearing Lin Chen’s words.

The policeman, faced flushed with anger, was clearly embarrassed as such matters were not flattering, and spreading such things could have adverse effects.

”Shut up, don’t spout nonsense. Someone cuff this kid and get him in the police car,” the lead policeman said in a panicked voice.

Lin Chen did not struggle but instead smiled, ”Officer, arresting me will bring regret to you and your master.”

”Regret? the hell you will. Once you’re inside, you’re dead,” the policeman retorted and viciously kicked Lin Chen in the rear.

It felt as though he had kicked a block of iron.

”Ow, my leg, my leg feels like it’s broken,” the policeman howled like a pig being slaughtered.

Soon, Lin Chen was taken to Manchester Police Station and locked in an interrogation room.

The officer who had arrested him walked in with a limp, his face an angry shade of purple.

He sat at the interrogation table, directed the spotlight towards Lin Chen, and coldly stated, ”Kid, do we really need to bother with formalities? Just confess how you extorted and assaulted our chief and his son. I’m warning you, you’ve messed with the wrong people. If you’re honest, you might suffer less. Otherwise, hmm!”

While speaking, the officer pulled out his belt and slapped it menacingly onto the table.

”This is not Huaxia. Even if I beat you to death, no one would care,” the officer coldly said.

”Don’t hit me, I’ll confess everything,” Lin Chen feigned fear.

The officer snorted coldly, ”Speak. How did you extort one million from young Master Vara?”

Lin Chen sighed and replied, ”Actually, that day I was at the club, and I suddenly ran into an acquaintance. Oh, and this person is also a well-known drug dealer wanted by the police, I think his name was Mos.”

”Mos?” The policeman paused for a moment at the name. This drug dealer was an A-grade fugitive in the T-country. Wasn’t this supposed to be just an extortion case? How did this guy get involved?

Hearing the name Moss, Wadi at the other end of the interrogation room broke out in sweat, and said to the police officer next to him, ”Turn off the camera,” then he hurriedly walked towards the interrogation room.

”I wanted to record it, but I didn’t expect a big shot to walk into the box,” Lin Chen said with a mysterious face.

”Big shot, what big shot?” the police officer asked, his eyes lighting up.

After all, Moss was a Class-A wanted criminal. If they could catch him with this lead, a promotion was definitely in order.

”Who is the big shot?” the police officer suddenly slammed his hand on the table.

Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”The big shot is about to come in.”

No sooner had the words left his mouth than the door of the interrogation room was suddenly flung open. Wadi walked in with a grim expression.

”Chief!” Seeing Wadi, the police officer immediately stood up and saluted him.

Suddenly, the police officer’s heart tightened. Lin Chen had just said that the big shot was about to come in. Could it be that Lin Chen was referring to the Chief?

Wadi nodded at the police officer, ”Thank you for your hard work. The case is significant, so I will take over the interrogation myself.”

”Yes!” The police officer nodded and hurriedly left the interrogation room.

He secretly celebrated within himself, thankful that Lin Chen hadn’t mentioned the Chief’s name in front of him. If he had, and it turned out to be true, his own life might have been in jeopardy.

Wadi sat down across the interrogation table, his gaze cold as he stared at Lin Chen, ”Kid, what else did you see?”

Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”I saw a lot of things, like three beautiful women and two cases of money.”

Hearing Lin Chen’s words, Wadi’s expression instantly turned somber, and his eyes flashed with murderous intent. ”Kid, you dare to hit my son, dare to blackmail me, Wadi. I wanted to torture you to death, but since you’ve seen something you shouldn’t have, consider yourself lucky. Now you’re going to die.”

As he spoke, Wadi pulled out a handgun and aimed it at Lin Chen.

”Wait a second, it seems I accidentally recorded a video of your transaction, and I’ve uploaded it to the cloud with a timer set to release it. There are just ten minutes left before the video automatically posts to major websites,” Lin Chen said with a faint smile.

”What did you say?” Hearing Lin Chen’s words, Wadi’s face changed dramatically.

The first video Lin Chen took could at most jeopardize his position as Chief. However, if the video of him dealing with drug traffickers were released, not only would he lose his job, but he might also be disgraced and even end up in prison.

”Where did you upload that video?” Wadi suddenly stood up, shouting anxiously.

”Oh dear, I get scared easily, what with your handgun and handcuffs, so when I’m frightened, I just can’t speak,” Lin Chen said coldly, chuckling.

Wadi holstered his handgun and wiped the sweat off his face, his expression begging, ”Mr. Lin Chen, I was wrong. Give me back that video, we can talk about everything.”

”Wadi, I’m pretty sure I warned you not to invite trouble, but you wouldn’t listen,” Lin Chen said coldly.

”How much money do you want? I’ll give you anything, just hand over the video,” Wadi’s voice trembled.

Lin Chen stared at Wadi coldly, ”There are only eight minutes left before the video goes out. You standing there begging like this shows too little sincerity.”

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Wadi’s face twisted in anger, but he clenched his teeth and finally dropped to his knees in front of Lin Chen, ”Please, sir, you are a great man, spare me!”
