Chapter 568: Chapter 569: The Power of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Lin Chen turned around and saw a T-country doctor enter the room.

”Sir, please do not treat my patient rashly. Can you bear the responsibility if something goes wrong?” the doctor said coldly.

”Doctor Basang, he is using traditional Chinese medicine. Let him have a try,” Leo said.

Hearing that it would take three months before he could get out of bed, Leo became anxious.

He knew that there were only half a month left until the examination, and it was a critical time for students to review. Being absent from school at this moment would definitely have a significant impact on the students.

”You believe in that rubbish of Chinese medicine? Chinese medicine is nothing more than a stunt to attract attention by the Chinese. We are in the era of science and technology; those primitive methods of treatment have long been outdated. Western medicine is the true path,” Basang said arrogantly.

Hearing Basang’s words, Lin Chen furrowed his brows, ”You say Chinese medicine is rubbish, but if I can heal Leo’s foot right now, I hope you will apologize to me.”

”Ha-ha, don’t be ridiculous. If you can heal his foot, I will kneel down and beg to become your disciple immediately,” Basang snorted coldly.

Lin Chen then approached Leo, ”Leo, if you trust me, I can treat your foot injury right now. I can assure you will be able to stand today and be discharged tomorrow.”

Hearing Lin Chen’s words, Basang burst into arrogant laughter, ”Young man, are you making up myths here? I am starting to doubt your sanity.”

”Lad, you’re talking too mystically; how could that be possible.”

”This guy must be a swindler; Leo, you must not be fooled.”

In the ward, whether it was patients or nurses, not a single person believed in Lin Chen.

Leo had a fractured foot bone, something any sensible person knew could not heal enough to walk on for at least a month or two; yet Lin Chen claimed his treatment would allow walking immediately, which seemed impossible.

”Then please, Mr. Lin, would you treat me? I will bear all consequences myself.”

Leo looked at Lin Chen. If it weren’t for this young man, his leg would have been broken by now. Although he was very skeptical of Lin Chen’s words, he decided without hesitation to let Lin Chen have a try.

Lin Chen nodded, placing his hand on Leo’s injured left ankle.

Leo felt a warm current flowing into his bones, the warmth was very comfortable.

Lin Chen gently stroked the area around Leo’s foot bone a few times, then suddenly said, ”Leo, this might hurt a bit—hold on.”

No sooner had he spoken than a cracking sound was heard.

”Ah!” Leo cried out in pain.

”You bastard, what have you done? You might have made his foot lame,” Basang’s face turned pale seeing Lin Chen’s action.

”This guy isn’t healing; he’s actually harming!”

”What kind of traditional Chinese medicine, he looks like a scammer to me.”

Following Lin Chen’s actions, a burst of accusatory voices rose in the ward.

However, Lin Chen seemed uncaring and smiled at Leo, ”Leo, try getting out of bed and walking.”

”Get out of bed? What kind of international joke is this? Let me see if the leg is broken; this time it might need a steel plate,” Basang’s expression turned ugly.

At that moment, Leo suddenly said, ”Doctor Basang, why not let me try? My foot doesn’t feel very painful anymore.”

”No, if you move recklessly, your leg might be ruined,” Basang firmly disapproved.

However, before Basang could finish his sentence, Leo suddenly sat up vigorously and, supporting himself on the bed, stood on the ground.

”Boom!”

The entire ward erupted into astonishment, ”How is this possible, weren’t his legs supposed to be broken? How can he possibly stand up?”

Everyone who witnessed this scene was dumbfounded; it nearly defied their comprehension.

Leo took a cautious step, his face breaking into an ecstatic expression.

”My God, this is miraculous, it really doesn’t hurt anymore.”

With that, he even took a few more steps forward.

All the people in the ward looked at Lin Chen with shocked faces, their expressions akin to seeing a monster.

”This, this is impossible!” The disbelief was evident on Basang’s face because this simply went against scientific principles.

He had personally reviewed Leo’s X-rays, which showed a severe bone fracture in the foot. It was conservative to say that the patient should stay in bed for one to two months, but now he was able to get out of bed and walk after just a few massages.

Lin Chen looked at Leo with a faint smile and said, ”Walking should be fine now, but you still can’t do any strenuous exercise.”

”Yeah, I understand, thank you so much, Mr. Lin,” Leo replied with gratitude on his face.

After all, thanks to Lin Chen’s treatment, he could return to his students tomorrow. For him, who loved the educational field, this was simply the best gift.

”How did you do that?” Basang, shocked, looked at Lin Chen and asked earnestly.

Lin Chen replied indifferently, ”This is the power of traditional Chinese medicine. I do not deny the strength of Western medicine, but traditional Chinese medicine also has its unique and miraculous aspects.”

The disdain that had been on Basang’s face had long since disappeared, replaced by an extremely grave expression. He looked at Leo, who was walking easily on the floor, as if he had discovered some treasure. He was so excited that his whole body trembled, and he suddenly knelt in front of Lin Chen.

”Sir, please be my mentor,” he implored.

Gah!

Basang’s statement left all the nurses in the ward dumbstruck, their faces filled with disbelief, their eyes nearly popping out.

Basang was a graduate of one of the world’s most renowned medical universities with a PhD, but now he was kneeling in front of a young man, asking to be taken as a disciple.

Lin Chen glanced at Basang and said lightly, ”Traditional Chinese medicine isn’t something you can just decide to learn and succeed at, so I cannot accept you as a disciple.”

”Wow, the onlookers were once again bemused. This guy was too arrogant. Even a PhD student asking to be a disciple wasn’t good enough.”

A bitter expression crossed Basang’s face, ”Is it that I am not qualified? It doesn’t matter, I will go to Huaxia and learn traditional Chinese medicine.”

Lin Chen smiled faintly, ”Of course, you can go to Huaxia and find a girl called Mu Yun Ya. Mention my name, and she will find you a very good teacher.”

Lin Chen actually admired Basang quite a bit. Although somewhat arrogant, he was able to face reality, and Lin Chen could tell he was truly passionate about medicine—a rare and valuable trait for someone dedicated to healing and saving lives.

”Thank you, Mr. Lin Chen,” Basang said with excitement on his face, despite not being able to take Lin Chen as his mentor.

Lin Chen bid farewell to Leo and prepared to leave the hospital. Just as he reached the hospital entrance, suddenly, four or five armed policemen surrounded him.
