Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Second Uncle didn’t respond immediately; it took him a full minute.

After all, he manages the internal affairs at the base, and also manages those cooperative and extra staff, which makes it quite complex to handle so many people.

He considers things in a more grounded manner.

”So, when do you plan to start building the Fourth Outer City? The materials for construction aren’t a small amount,” Second Uncle thought for a long time before finally looking at Li Yu and asking.

When Li Yu heard Second Uncle say this, it meant that Second Uncle also agreed with his idea. Given Second Uncle’s personality, if he thought there was a problem, he would definitely raise a question.

No one is perfect.

Although Li Yu could make autocratic decisions in the base, he didn’t want to do so.

He often seeks others’ advice, particularly on less critical matters, and is willing to let others handle things.

He often consults Second Uncle because Second Uncle is always able to point out some issues or problems, which is what Li Yu needs.

Hearing Second Uncle’s question, Li Yu didn’t hesitate and said directly, ”Let’s wait until after fixing the collapses and damages caused by the typhoon, then we’ll get the five satellite cities sorted out, and we can start preparing for the construction of the Fourth Outer City.”

”Besides, I heard from He Chao that the fences previously built near the cooperative personnel were all destroyed, so might as well wait until these fences are rebuilt,” Li Yu said.

Uncle heard Li Yu and then asked, ”Xiao Yu, why not just build a wall instead? It doesn’t need to be very high, just two meters. Of course, this height can’t stop zombies during heavy rains, but at least it’s safe at night.”

Before Li Yu could speak, Second Uncle spoke up.

”No, it’s too large of a project. If it’s built to the base wall’s standards, plus the fact that building walls is already quite complex.

This wall, although only two meters, covers a large area, several dozen times the area of the Big Camphor Tree Base, adding up to about the same workload as constructing the entire base wall.”

Uncle looked at Second Uncle in shock and said, ”That much? Then why did those previous fences take only a few days to build...”

Second Uncle sighed and said, ”Actually, not everywhere had fences; they were just in low-lying places where zombies were likely to come in.

And the construction method was simple. For example, in the forest, they just used wires, wrapped around trees, only wrapped three or four times.

Or at the edge of the highway, built with wooden frames, and some scrapped vehicles were leaned there to form a barrier.

It wasn’t as complicated as building walls.”

Uncle, hearing this, recalled the fences he had seen while patrolling outside, indeed much simpler.

So Uncle nodded and said, ”I thought it was simpler. Let’s do it the way you all suggested.”

Li Yu looked around at everyone, then stood up and said to them, ”Alright, I’ve said all my thoughts, Second Uncle, Uncle, Third Uncle, what do you think?”

”I have no objections,” Third Uncle said first, then looked down and said, ”I’ll go find Old Qin and the others. Xiao Yu, are you all set here?”

”All set.” Li Yu shrugged.

After Third Uncle finished speaking, he went directly towards the walls.

After he left, Uncle also said, ”I think it’s feasible. I’m going to patrol.”

Having said that, he also left the duty room.

Only Li Yu and Second Uncle were left. Second Uncle looked at Li Yu and calmly said, ”There’s no major issue with the general direction; I think it’s good. But I’ll need to ponder on some things, and if any problems arise, I’ll chat with you later. After all, this matter isn’t urgent.

But we can start looking for building materials. Tomorrow, I’ll raise the task demand.”

”Alright!” Li Yu laughed, then waved to Second Uncle and also left the duty room.
