Chapter 1339: Chapter 798: Wall Repairs and Transfer Station

Oil City Fortress.

The next day.

Li Yu woke up from his dream; yesterday at around three in the morning, Old Bi and Li Tie came over asking him to review the overnight plan regarding the Oil City Fortress systems and corresponding tasks for the cooperative personnel.

No choice, he had told Old Bi, no matter how late, he should come over for Li Yu to review it.

So from three to five in the morning, they went through it line by line with Old Bi and his team. Finally, they were done, and he slept from five until now, seven-thirty in the morning.

When he got up in the morning, the temperature was still quite low. Li Yu splashed some cold water on his face, waking himself up completely.

He picked up the plan discussed last night from the table, reviewed it again, and once he confirmed there were no issues, he got up to go over to Zhong Chuchu’s side.

At present, the renovation of the Oil City Fortress wall is imperative; as for the construction materials, the Motorcycle Gang had hoarded many when they were building their old nest.

Now it’s time to send someone over to move those materials.

Li Yu handed the list he was holding to Zhong Chuchu, asking her to explain the tasks to her subordinates so they could start executing today.

Currently, the most important thing is the renovation of the walls and the operation of the oil equipment.

Since arriving at the Oil City Fortress, oil extraction has been halted for a few days.

Zhong Chuchu looked at the list, not showing much surprise on her face.

Additionally, Li Yu went to find Ju Tianrui, asking him to prepare to transfer building materials from the Motorcycle Gang’s old nest starting today.

Ju Tianrui had just woken up recently, and addressed Li Yu with a look of confusion, ”Are we starting with the wall repairs today?”

Li Yu nodded and said, ”Yes, it’s decided. Let’s get started.”

In the plan Old Bi and Li Tie devised last night, they also included methods to reinforce the existing walls.

Previously, these walls were constructed in the simplest way, which was to stack shipping containers. Several large containers stacked up automatically formed the walls.

The advantage of this was that it was very time-saving and labor-saving.

But there were also downsides. After going through wind and rain over the past two years, with natural disasters wreaking havoc, many containers had tiny gaps, about the size of a bowl’s opening, eroded by rainwater, causing that area to become brittle.

The new approach they adopted was direct: filling the containers with soil and applying slurry over the surface.

To be specific, it meant adding a layer of concrete on the container’s surface.

With soil inside the containers, the weight increased, making them less likely to be blown by wind and rain. By integrating concrete, the containers were isolated from oxygen, preventing oxidation.

This method was devised based on the current walls as the simplest, most time-saving, and effective method.

Ju Tianrui received the order, didn’t hesitate, and prepared to set off with his team to transport the materials.

Li Yu watched Zhong Chuchu, who emerged from the canteen, and asked, ”Have you explained everything? How’s it going?”

Zhong Chuchu nodded and said, ”Yes, they’re wondering... when can we start?”

”Now.” Li Yu said with a slight smile.

”Now?” Zhong Chuchu asked with some doubt.

”Yes, transporting building materials, we have them now. Is there anyone to take over?” Li Yu said with a smile to Zhong Chuchu.

Zhong Chuchu saw Ju Tianrui preparing trucks not far away and hurriedly said, ”Yes, I’ll tell them now, we can start immediately.”

”Okay. For other task extractions and food exchanges, go to Old Bi. He’s probably not up yet.” Li Yu said calmly.

”Alright.” Zhong Chuchu nodded vigorously.

Soon after.

Many people came out of the canteen, and Li Yu explained the situation to Ju Tianrui. After hearing it, a smile appeared on Ju Tianrui’s face as well.

Having people come to help, that was naturally a good thing.

Half an hour later, Ju Tianrui led dozens of people, heading grandly towards the Motorcycle Gang’s old lair.

......

Old Bi only woke up at noon; over the age of thirty-five, staying up late was becoming quite a burden.

When he woke, he saw people already starting construction on the walls.

Not only did Ju Tianrui’s team bring over building materials, but they also carried back everything the Motorcycle Gang once prepared for their lair.

According to Old Ghost’s original plan, the Motorcycle Gang’s old lair itself had a large area, requiring significant amounts of materials.

Back then, they had scoured most of the area around Xinyang, yet the materials needed to construct the walls were only half collected, so they had to build and gather simultaneously.

It’s worth noting that the Motorcycle Gang originally imprisoned more than a thousand slaves to build the wall.

Whereas on the Oil City Fortress side, there were barely a hundred people in total.

However, the Motorcycle Gang’s Old Lair was almost the size of a small town street, dozens of times bigger than the Oil City Fortress.

Moreover, the chosen construction method involved strengthening the existing foundation, simplifying the process significantly.

Old Bi rubbed his sleepy eyes, watching the bustling construction of the Oil City Fortress walls, and walked over to Li Yu standing beside him and asked, ”Director Li, is it already started?”

”Yes, efficiency is key. Were you planning to wait until the New Year?” Li Yu glanced at him and said calmly.

”No, no, no, I just didn’t expect it so soon. Where did all these building materials come from?” Old Bi asked, puzzled.
