Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Li Yu looked at his injury and said, ”Take good care of your injury. By the way, do you have someone bringing you meals?”

Huang Zheng nodded and said, ”Yes, Li Tie has been bringing people to deliver meals.”

Li Yu felt inexplicably better upon hearing this.

Then he asked, ”Where is Dr. Liu Pengfei? Where is he now?”

Huang Zheng pursed his lips and said, ”He was busy until just now; he should be eating now. I see he’s quite exhausted, hasn’t rested at all.”

Li Yu was slightly taken aback, then said, ”Okay, I understand. You just rest well for now.”

He then checked on the other severely injured patients. Those with minor injuries were basically not there, so this temporary ward only had a few people.

Li Yu’s arrival delighted these injured people, as it showed significant attention to them.

After having a look at the injured, Li Yu had a general understanding of the situation.

These people were not too severely injured; even the most injured would only need two months of recuperation before returning to battle in the team.

As for those with minor injuries, they were just bandaged and returned to their positions, but because of their injuries, they were not assigned any shifts.

Li Yu left the ward, walking at a slow pace.

As he walked, he saw the canteen of the former Oil City stronghold, which was built for workers before Doomsday.

After two years of weathering, the ”food” in the ”canteen” was gone, leaving only the word ”hall”.

At the entrance of the canteen, there were two people on duty, watching those inside.

Although they didn’t restrict their movements, they still watched the behaviors of the people inside, ready to report any misconduct immediately.

”City Lord.”

The two at the entrance quickly addressed Li Yu when they saw him.

Li Yu patted them on the shoulder and said, ”Brothers, you’ve worked hard. Have you eaten?”

The two were touched hearing Li Yu call them brothers.

His down-to-earth manner, asking them about daily matters, such as whether they had eaten, showed genuine concern, which was very important in Doomsday.

Without food, you would starve.

Before Doomsday, people might not worry about food, but afterward, food became a prominent issue.

Li Yu’s down-to-earth, approachable nature without any airs filled them with gratitude, and they promptly said, ”We’ve eaten.”

”Good.” Li Yu nodded and then went inside.

As they watched Li Yu’s figure disappear inside, they exchanged glances and sensed each other’s emotions.

Yesterday, Li Yu ruthlessly killed Guan Zhongjin, and with just one order, annihilated many in the Motorcycle Gang, appearing as terrifying as a Demon when facing the enemy.

But, upon truly approaching Li Yu just now, they felt his attention and friendliness towards them.

This indescribable charisma made them admire Li Yu deeply.

A soldier would die for a confidant; people seek a sense of recognition.

Clearly a leader of the Big Camphor Tree Base, yet calling them brothers, this feeling of being valued gave them a strong sense of recognition.

.......

Li Yu entered and saw Zhong Chuchu inside.

Zhong Chuchu was chatting with former Oil City stronghold people, possibly someone saw Li Yu and reminded Zhong Chuchu, who had her back to him.

It was then that Zhong Chuchu turned to face Li Yu.

”Director Li.”

”Hmm.” Li Yu nodded slightly and said to Zhong Chuchu, ”Have you told them about the Big Camphor Tree Base’s rules?”

Zhong Chuchu quickly replied, ”I’ve told them, and they all agreed to start as Cooperative Personnel.”

”Hmm.” Li Yu responded softly.

Earlier on the container, he had been thinking about what to do with Zhong Chuchu’s people.

If all stayed at the Oil City stronghold, there would be too many people.

He definitely wouldn’t station too many people here, he estimated 10 to 30 people at most could be stationed.

Even if this place was important, it was just a branch.

If Zhong Chuchu and all their people stayed here, the Big Camphor Tree Base already had dozens of people; only Zhong Chuchu and Shen Xiaoxiao came on this trip, others stayed outside the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Also, with those encountered in Macheng, plus the dozens here,

the total number was over two hundred.

Moreover, they were all previously residing in the Oil City stronghold.

Sometimes, managing people is like this; you can’t let one side become too strong, or else it’s hard to deal with if they group together.

However, leaving some talents here is necessary.

Relying solely on those like Old Bi isn’t enough; the basic operations within the Oil City stronghold, including oil well operation and oil refining, are better understood by those like Zhong Chuchu, who have been here for a long time.

That said, the number of people staying here must be balanced, not too many or too few.

As for the other group, they could be brought back near the Big Camphor Tree Base to expand the number of Cooperative Personnel.

Therefore, he decided to let them choose themselves, using this method for division.

Stay, or go to the Big Camphor Tree Base.

There are pros and cons, depending on their choice.

Thus, Li Yu said to Zhong Chuchu, ”Regarding the matter you asked me about settling them, I can answer now.”

”I’ll give them two choices.

The first choice, come back with us to the Big Camphor Tree Base as Cooperative Personnel, and have them in your group.

Or, at that time, you can divide into smaller groups; as I understand, a group of thirty is best for tasks, minimizing pressure.

Once there, like other Cooperative Personnel, there will be no provision of food, everything relies on task exchange.

The second choice,

stay at the Oil City stronghold and follow the arrangements of those stationed here.

And assist in running the oil well, resisting zombies, resisting attacks from other forces, planting crops, and a series of tasks; we will give them some stable food in return.

The selection depends on them.”

When Li Yu mentioned ”us,” it meant Zhong Chuchu certainly couldn’t stay here.

Zhong Chuchu thought for a moment after listening, nodded, and said, ”Okay, City Lord, I’ll tell them and let them choose themselves.”

She was also contemplating.

.....

If they go to the Big Camphor Tree Base.

The Big Camphor Tree Base is situated among Southern forests.

Though near a national road, there are few zombies outside on non-stormy nights.

Even Cooperative Personnel living outside the unfortified area isn’t too dangerous; they built some wooden fences, and due to the daytime cleaning, there are few zombies at night.

Yet, once there’s torrential rain or other natural disasters,

the Big Camphor Tree Base will open its City Gate, providing them shelter.

Even in special situations, they can borrow food first, needing only to repay it later.

The Big Camphor Tree Base is very stable, like an unshakable anchor, seemingly always able to face and solve challenges.

Having experienced the past two years of the Doomsday, many have realized it isn’t just a zombie apocalypse; sudden heat, cold, and floods follow one after another.

It’s impossible for people to easily handle.

The downside is, going to an unfamiliar place won’t provide stable food; everything must be earned.

If they stay at the Oil City stronghold.

They might be able to stay in the Oil City stronghold. They originally lived here and are very familiar with the surroundings; some even consider it home.

However, the downside is also clear.

Yu Province has a large population, hence many zombies.

Being on a plain, it’s extremely easy for Zombie Tides to form.

Although they weathered through Zombie Tides using oil extraction,

besides zombies, there are still others, many survivors coveting silently.

A man of virtue with a treasure invites thieves.

Holding precious oil resources in Doomsday, many will covet it.

Like before, the Motorcycle Gang was the first to take advantage of them.

Staying here means guarding against not only zombies but people too.

But it’s different at the Big Camphor Tree Base.

There’s no second force in the entire Xin City.

Arguably not even in the entire Gan City.
