Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

A lot of slaves died of starvation. Those who starved to death were thrown into the wasteland by the Motorcycle Gang.

Hungry for too long, dizzy and lightheaded.

After squatting down, I felt much better.

Old Huang was also feeling a bit dizzy from hunger and explained with a smile, ”Of course, it’s a good thing. Look at those zombies outside the iron bars. If there wasn’t any commotion outside, I guess the zombies would just stay there forever.

If they stay there forever, we will starve to death sooner or later.

There are gunshots outside, only two possibilities.

The first possibility is that Old Ghost’s Motorcycle Gang is back, and they’re clearing the zombies that entered last night, hence the gunshot sounds.

For us, if they’re back, they will definitely come to clean up the zombies near the factory. Then we will return to how things were before, but at least we won’t be trapped here to die. We can at least manage to survive for a while.

The second possibility is, I suspect, that Old Ghost encountered something outside yesterday. It’s very possible that it was his enemies, and Old Ghost and his people were killed by them. Then these people, who came from who knows where, came over and wiped out Old Ghost’s lair.

If it’s these unknown people, they will definitely find their way here and clear out these zombies.

For them, it’s an easy task.

It’s also a good thing for us.”

Old Huang’s speech had some slips, but Jiu Ge still understood what he said. Through his analysis, everything seemed exactly as Old Huang said.

Just.

Jiu Ge suddenly frowned and said, ”We haven’t seen those people, let alone understand them. How can you judge that they will clear the zombies outside the iron bars? What if they want to kill us?”

”Hahaha.”

Old Huang laughed, then sat up straight and said to Jiu Ge, ”I don’t know if those people are good or bad, and in the Doomsday, there’s no distinction between good and bad, only between interest. Just because they eliminated the Motorcycle Gang doesn’t make them good people.

But at least, the Motorcycle Gang was so bad; how much worse can they be? And we can’t get any more miserable.”

”Then what makes you say they won’t kill us? What if they mistake us for members of the Motorcycle Gang?” Jiu Ge asked with a frown.

Old Huang touched his clothes, which had been beaten into strips by the Motorcycle Gang. The clothes were torn and tattered, with some blood stains caked into red grime.

Showing a toothy smile, he said, ”Do we look like members of the Motorcycle Gang right now?”

Jiu Ge looked around at the others. Most of them had been whipped by the Motorcycle Gang. Previously, when building the walls, the Motorcycle Gang liked to torment people. Usually, if someone’s movements were slow, they’d whip them.

Some members of the Motorcycle Gang took pleasure in sadism, often giving two random whips. They enjoyed the thrill of bullying, feeling superior, controlling others’ lives for fun, which fascinated them greatly.

As a result, most of the elderly, sick, and disabled held captive here have died—the ones who survived were physically fit young adults.

Though both men and women were here, those who looked good were taken to satiate desires. Only those with ordinary looks and stout bodies got to stay.

Many of these people were scantily clad, unkempt, and gave off a stench from days of toil.

Given their captivity, it’s clear to anyone that they’re merely a bunch of people used as slaves by the Motorcycle Gang.

”Phew—you make a good point. But why are you so certain they won’t kill us?” Jiu Ge asked once more.

Old Huang felt that sitting up was exhausting, so he leaned against the wall again and slowly said, ”The bustling world runs on profit; the bustling world moves for profit. At least we count as labor force; what would they gain by killing us?

Moreover, killing us would waste bullets and energy. We’ve fallen to a state where we’re no threat—they gain nothing by killing us.

Unless they’re out of their minds, anti-human, killing for fun. If that’s the case, then we’re doomed, absolutely finished!”

After Old Huang finished speaking, he closed his eyes again.

Then he mumbled to himself, ”That possibility can’t be ruled out, but it’s unlikely. Let’s wait and see, we can’t do anything now, everything will be clear soon.”

Looking at Old Huang’s calm demeanor, even leaning against the wall to rest his eyes, Jiu Ge couldn’t help feeling a sense of admiration.

Not to mention, this Old Huang is not only clever but has a remarkably good mindset.

....

Outside the factory.

As the gunfire drew nearer, Ju Tianrui and the others quickly cleared most of this area.

However, as they cleared, they found that not many members of the Motorcycle Gang remained here. Up until now, besides the one who secretly fired the first shot, and the person blown out by Luo’s blast, they only found three people, and they lay dying from gun wounds in a closed room.

What they didn’t know was that last night, the returning Motorcycle Gang had a gunfight with Old Ghost’s diehards. Most died, and the remaining ones couldn’t escape fast enough and were bitten and devoured by zombies.

So when Li Yu and the others came over at dawn, there were less than eight living members of the Motorcycle Gang, and two of them had gunshot wounds.
