Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

The torrential rain poured for four days, turning into a drizzle by the fifth day, and after another three days, the sun finally came out.

During this period, the Big Camphor Tree Base was surrounded and piled up by zombies, but with ample experience, they had no impact on the base.

The rain stopped, and the sun came out.

The numerous cooperative and extra staff temporarily sheltering in the Big Camphor Tree Base collected their equipment from Second Uncle and left the base.

Construction work on the Third Outer City resumed from here.

During more than a week of rain, Li Yu instructed Li Tie and the others to prepare the weapons, food, sleeping bags, and other items to be brought along, placing them on the vehicle.

On this midday, Li Yu boarded the armored RV, bid farewell to Second Uncle and the others, and then left the Big Camphor Tree Base with Dapao and the others, heading toward the Western Alliance.

In the car, there were two people tied up like dumplings, namely Gan Long and Wayne. As for Gan Hu, when his mouth was unwisely taped in the base, Dapao accidentally killed him.

Li Yu took two bottles of the only remaining zombie enhancing potion and placed them in a black protective case. This small box was carried with him, not to be lost.

After the long rain, the temperature dropped several degrees. Sitting in the car, the breeze blew, feeling quite refreshing.

After the rain, the weeds on both sides of the road became even more lush, with tufts of foxtail grass even sprouting on the national highway.

The houses on both sides looked exceedingly dilapidated, with almost all the doors open, and some houses without doors at all.

Glass shards were scattered all over the ground, the putty that once plastered the walls had all fallen off, revealing the red bricks underneath.

In the crevices of the houses, some weeds also grew.

Walking on the national highway felt full of greenery.

In the car, Dapao drove the vehicle, looking at the electronic map and driving according to their planned route.

Dapao drove very steadily, but the road was so bumpy that from time to time the people in the car would be jolted up. If they weren’t wearing seat belts, it would be easy to get injured.

This route to the Western Alliance was long, two thousand kilometers.

So some spare tires were placed on the roof and rear of the car, in case of a flat tire, they could be replaced at any time.

The people in the car were bored, Yang Tianlong and Li Gang leaned directly on their seats and fell asleep.

Li Tie was cleaning the gun, occasionally inserting comments into the conversation between Dapao and Li Yu.

.....

....

After Li Yu and others left, Third Uncle and the others, due to having more vehicles and people, prepared for an extra day.

The next day, after everything was ready, Third Uncle and the others also left the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Second Uncle and the others watched as the base, suddenly much emptier, their eyes filled with worry, as they saw off Third Brother and the others.

On the noon of the day Third Uncle and the others left, news came from the construction site of the Third Outer City.

”The foundation of the Third Outer City is completed!”

Second Uncle immediately walked out of the duty room, running a few steps to the wall close to the construction site of the Third Outer City, checked with a telescope, a faint smile on his face.

The foundation was complete, and next would be building the upper structure.

By the time Li Yu and the others returned from the Western Alliance, he estimated the wall would be at least seven or eight meters high.

Second Uncle thought so.

At the same time.

Having already arrived in Xiang Province, Li Yu and the others encountered a small problem at the corner of a small woods in Xiangtan County.

They were intercepted.

In the Doomsday, it became commonplace for survivors to rob on the road.

More than a dozen people holding sticks, steel crossbows, and riding motorcycles blocked the way. A long-haired man leading them shouted to Li Yu and the others twenty meters away, ”Get out of the car, hurry down!”

Dapao turned his head to Li Yu in the passenger seat and said, ”Should we ram through them?”

Li Yu shook his head and said, ”No need.”

”Gangzi, stop sleeping, get up and work.”

His voice showed no sign of panic.

Dapao sat quietly in his seat, the newly replaced air cushion seat was much more comfortable than before, and didn’t feel so bumpy.

Li Gang, drowsily hearing Li Yu calling him, stood up, rubbed his sleepy eyes, and looked at Li Yu.

Li Yu pointed outside the window, then pointed at the upgraded heavy machine gun lift platform.

Li Gang immediately understood, stretched his body, and immediately walked to the sofa area, stepped on a platform, and pressed a button on top.

The heavy machine gun slowly rose.

At this time, the survivors intercepting the road waited a long time without a response from the car.

Having long lost patience, the leader of the group turned impatiently to two of his minions and said, ”Go see what’s going on.”

”Big brother, this car doesn’t look easy to mess with, maybe we should back off,” a young follower said.

”Idiot! Doesn’t that just mean it’s a fat lamb?” the leader slapped the young follower behind him.

This Unimog vehicle, with many steel plates welded on the outside, looked mighty and domineering, full of defensive power.

Click——

A slight noise came from the opposite vehicle.

”Big brother, look at that, what is that?” The young follower, rubbing his slapped face, pointed to something rising on the car roof.

The leader slowly twisted his head to look.

”Hiss! That’s a machine gun! Not good, run...…”

As soon as the words fell.

Da-da-da-da——

A burst of intense gunfire rang out. At such close range, those caught under the sweep of the heavy machine gun were like fragile thin sheets of paper, instantly perforated by bullets.

Half a minute later.

The heavy machine gun ceased firing.

At that moment, there wasn’t a single enemy left standing in front of the Unimog.

A few minutes later.

Li Yu and Li Gang got out of the vehicle to assess the situation of these people; they were dead beyond revival.

They siphoned the gasoline from those motorcycles, pushed the motorcycles to the roadside, and got back in the vehicle.

In the Doomsday, you often encounter such roadblocks.

Typically, these roadblocks don’t target those with many people or vehicles, but specifically rob single vehicles.

In their eyes, a lone vehicle doesn’t pose much of a threat.

Unfortunately, this time they encountered a tough opponent; not only did they fail to seize any supplies, but they also lost their lives here.

”Drive!”

After easily dealing with these road-blocking survivors, Li Yu instructed Dapao to start the vehicle again.

The group of five embarked once more on their journey to the Western Alliance.

Since the Unimog had undergone modifications, its weight was relatively high, so they mainly traveled on larger roads.

This was the first wave of road-blocking survivors they encountered after leaving the Big Camphor Tree Base, which they handled with ease.

Even if they encountered more roadblocks, with this highly performant armored RV, they could escape, and no one could stop them.

They continued driving for two days, maintaining an average speed of fifty kilometers per hour.

Since it was their only vehicle, they didn’t have to consider whether other vehicles could keep up, so they drove for ten hours each day.

Li Yu’s team of five took turns driving, each driving for two hours a day, so it wasn’t excessively tiring.

At night, they usually chose to stop on a highway away from the city and near a forest.

They didn’t park, and handled eating, drinking, and other necessities on the vehicle.

At night, the drone continuously hovered over the vehicle, monitoring the surroundings.

Additionally, someone was always on duty in the evenings.

Along the way, they encountered another group of fearless survivors attempting robbery, but they were swiftly overpowered by firepower.

Without major incidents, four days later, they arrived in Sichuan Province.

The roads in Sichuan Province were more challenging, with steeper and slanting roads.

Thus, the traveling speed slowed down.

In the vehicle.

”Brother, when we get there, will we use the drone to deliver the Zombie Attraction Potion to the Western Alliance?” Li Tie asked while driving.

After several days in the vehicle, everyone looked a bit weathered and tired.

Li Yu, seeing a large plain appear after descending a steep slope, replied, ”Yes, it has to be at night. We’ll use the drone to scout from the sky during the day when we get there. If everything’s fine, we’ll drop it at night. Let’s test the effects. If it doesn’t work, we pull back.”

Upon hearing this, Li Tie replied with some reluctance, ”After driving for so long, just leaving if the experiment doesn’t work feels like a waste.”

Li Yu shook his head and said, ”Don’t be greedy. There’s just the five of us, don’t dwell on unrealistic aims. Be prudent.”

”Okay.” Li Tie gently pressed the brakes, and the vehicle slowly navigated the steep slope.

After entering Sichuan Province, they encountered almost no other survivors.

This wasn’t because there were no survivors around, but because they were all in hiding.

Soon.

On the fifth day after leaving the Big Camphor Tree Base, at three in the afternoon.

They arrived three kilometers outside the Western Alliance, behind a house near the road. Beside this house was a pile of scrapped vehicles.

The Unimog parked among them, appearing unobtrusive at first glance.

Yang Tianlong, who had either been driving or sleeping during his shifts was now awake and alert.

”Hey! You’re sure it’s over there, right?” Dapao tapped Wayne’s hollowed eyes with the barrel of his gun.

Wayne looked around, somewhat dazed.

But upon seeing a familiar sign on the road, he said in a trance, ”Yes, cross the road behind here, then turn right, then left, walk 300 meters, and you’ll be there.”

”Could I have some water?”

Wayne’s lips were cracked as he turned to Dapao for water.

During these five days, he had only drunk water once and was about to die of thirst.

Dapao filled a cup from a nearby tap and pressed it to Wayne’s lips.

Wayne rushed over, gulping down the water in desperation.

Once he finished drinking, Dapao taped Wayne’s mouth shut again.

Although they had a map and navigation, they occasionally consulted the cooperative Wayne.

”Buzz—”

The drone ascended from the vehicle’s roof and soared to two or three hundred meters.

Generally, when a drone ascends over a hundred meters, it becomes almost inaudible from the ground.

But for safety’s sake, they ascended to a relatively higher altitude.

As the drone climbed to two hundred and fifty meters, Li Tie remotely piloted it towards the Western Alliance.
