Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 1187: Chapter 737: Enhanced Zombie Attraction Potion

Oil City Fortress.

Zhong Chuchu watched the departing motorcycle gang, finally letting out a sigh of relief. Her heart, which had been tight all along, also eased up.

This infamous motorcycle gang was rumored to have plundered several survivor groups. They didn’t engage in production, relying solely on plundering other groups’ resources to live.

Behind her, numerous residents also saw the departing convoy in the distance and erupted into cheers.

But she kept her eyes on those convoys, worry surfacing in her heart.

It was clear that the motorcycle gang wasn’t retreating because they found us too strong, but because it was about to rain, and they were leaving to avoid zombies.

Once the rain stops and the sun comes out, these people will definitely come back.

Then, it will be another tough battle.

......

Western Alliance.

Gan Xiong worriedly looked at the dark clouds outside. To be honest, he was already somewhat regretful about sending Gan Long and the others out.

Just one day after Gan Long and them left, Old Zhuang reported with trembling that Gan Hu was gone too.

A thorough search of the entire Western Alliance found no trace of Gan Hu, and Zhuang Shaohua at the main entrance also reported not seeing Gan Hu taking anyone out.

Without a doubt, Gan Hu sneaked out following Gan Long.

Gan Xiong was already advanced in age, with three sons and a daughter. His daughter and youngest son had perished outside.

Now, only two sons remained, both currently far from him.

If anything were to happen, Gan Xiong would be left without descendants.

Over the past year, the continuous outbreaks of various natural disasters and accidents had left him exhausted, making him appear even older.

Outside the house, the fierce wind blew harshly.

The overcast sky felt extremely oppressive.

Old Zhuang stood by, barely daring to breathe.

The last time Gan Long and the others set out, Old Zhuang had deliberately checked Gan Hu’s room to see if he was still there.

But unexpectedly, in a blink of an eye, Gan Hu had sneaked onto the vehicle.

If anything happened to Gan Hu and the others, the responsibility would be significant.

”How is the progress with the planting group?” Gan Xiong slightly opened his mouth, asking Old Zhuang behind him.

Old Zhuang replied, ”Progress is going well. After switching to wheat, it’s developing well, being cold and drought-resistant. It’s expected to be harvested in three months.”

”How much can be produced?” Gan Xiong nodded slightly. They had previously attempted rice cultivation, but rice required a high water supply, and during droughts, it could die off.

Old Zhuang hesitated a bit before saying, ”This test was cautious. We planted about 100 acres and calculated that it could yield up to 40 tons.”

Gan Xiong nodded slightly, knowing a ton of wheat could feed four people for a year.

tons would be enough to feed about 40 people for a year.

But with over two thousand people in the base, if distributed evenly, it would only last the people a month, and stretching it might allow for two months.

Thus, some will inevitably go hungry.

Currently, the Western Alliance’s food reserves would only last another month.

If a month passed without new food supplies, the Western Alliance would face a food crisis.

Hungry people, pushed to the limit, could do anything.

They had been trying to cultivate food, but with unpredictable weather changes, previous rice crops had all perished in months of drought.

Because of zombies in the river, their base didn’t rely on nearby water sources.

They could only use underground water.

But at the peak of drought, people needed water desperately, leaving no consideration for crops.

In contrast, Big Camphor Tree Base had a Mountain Pond reservoir accumulating rainwater to survive dry periods.

Additionally, they had fewer numbers and smaller cultivated areas.

But for the Western Alliance, the pressure was significant, with a larger population and pressing food demands.

Thus, they expanded their cultivation areas, but expanding areas required more water, and during droughts, they couldn’t provide water for irrigation, watching the crops wither away.

After hearing Old Zhuang’s figures, Gan Xiong sighed lightly, ”It’s still not enough, far from enough.”

Old Zhuang remained silent, saying nothing further.

The sky outside was as black as ink.

The fierce wind swept up some weeds, dust, and abandoned items, blowing them into the sky.

Boom——

Lightning struck, and rain fell in drips and drops.

........

Big Camphor Tree Base.

Li Yu watched the torrential rains, thunder, and lightning, and the zombies emerging from the woods.

These zombies became vividly visible in the lightning.

The searchlight penetrated the rain, illuminating the zombies, and their steps became agile.

Completely different from their state before the rain, their agility and strength were greatly enhanced.

Every time Li Yu saw this scene, he sometimes wondered why these zombies underwent such changes.

Previously, when Ma Di and his team extracted elements from meteors to treat cancer, they later discovered severe side effects, causing people receiving this vaccine to lose their minds utterly and turn into zombies.

Recently, Ma Di and his team have been studying the connection between rainwater and zombies, making some progress last time; however, they are still far from developing the antidote.

By chance, they accidentally developed a Zombie Attraction Potion and later enhanced it into a stronger Zombie Attraction Potion.
