Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 824: Chapter 608: Shocking Encounter in the Zombie Tower

The group got in the car and drove directly toward Juzi Island.

In the early afternoon, the temperature rose again, feeling like a normal autumn temperature.

But the buildings by the roadside and the decaying trees all reminded everyone how terrifying the recent natural disaster had been.

They sped along the way.

Time flew by quickly, and soon it was four in the afternoon.

In the car, Li Yu looked at the map on the iPad. According to what was displayed on it, they were not far from Juzi Island.

Opening the car window, they could see they had already reached the outskirts of Sha City.

The buildings ahead towered high, reflecting rays of light in the sunlight.

”Xiao Tie, let’s stop somewhere around here. Find a place to spend the night, and we’ll enter Sha City tomorrow.” Li Yu said to Li Tie, who was driving.

Then he took out the walkie-talkie and said to Third Uncle and Ju Tianrui, ”Third Uncle, Ju Tianrui, let’s go over there and check out the situation first. Scout the area.”

Subsequently, he instructed Li Tie and the others to find a place nearby that could accommodate them, and then contact him via walkie-talkie.

After explaining everything, Li Yu and Dapao got out of the car.

From the vehicle in front, Third Uncle also got out, standing by the roadside waiting for Li Yu.

The new energy vehicle driven by Ju Tianrui slowly approached Li Yu and the others.

”Director Li, which car are we taking over?” Ju Tianrui asked after having Dong Tai stop the car and getting out to speak to Li Yu.

Li Yu pointed to the new energy vehicle Ju Tianrui had just gotten out of and said, ”Let’s take this car over. It’s quiet and less likely to alert anyone.”

Then he headed straight for the car, and the others inside got out quickly to make room for Li Yu and his group.

Li Yu, Third Uncle, and Dapao got in the car. Ju Tianrui, seeing this, told the team members who had just gotten out to get into the other cars, and then he got back into the electric car.

After getting in, Li Yu saw the driver, Dong Tai, and remembered him well, saying, ”Dong Tai, let’s go. Take us near Juzi Island.”

Dong Tai nodded upon hearing this.

The vehicle steadily made its way toward Sha City.

This new energy vehicle was a large business car with seven seats.

Inside were Li Yu, Third Uncle, Dapao, Ju Tianrui, and Dong Tai, and it didn’t feel crowded at all.

The car drove quietly.

Li Tie watched as Li Yu’s vehicle headed towards Sha City and said to the others, ”Let’s hurry too. We need to find a suitable spot to camp before they return.”

....

Soon.

They arrived in Sha City.

Looking at the ruined skyscrapers, one could barely recognize how prosperous Sha City used to be before Doomsday. After all, before Doomsday, it was a central city with a large population.

Half an hour later.

They arrived at Xiangya Road.

”Director Li, I think we shouldn’t get too close. There’s a building ahead that’s suitable for observation, not far from Juzi Island. We can see the island’s situation clearly from the rooftop,” Dong Tai said, looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar road, speaking to Li Yu in the back.

Li Yu thought for a moment and asked, ”Where would be suitable?”

”Kunyu International.”

”Alright, let’s go with your suggestion and head there,” Li Yu said, checking the map, noting that Kunyu International was also one of the taller buildings in this area.

Two minutes later.

The group arrived at the base of Kunyu International.

The parking lot at the base was filled with vehicles, but their surfaces were covered in dust.

Some cars were utterly dilapidated, with broken glass and some bones inside.

Everyone was used to this sight by now.

In post-apocalyptic cities, skeletons were a common sight, leftovers after zombies had finished gnawing on them.

Dong Tai parked the vehicle in the corner of the parking lot, where it was hidden from the road, avoiding easy detection.

Once the vehicle was parked securely.

Li Yu stepped out of the car with his assault rifle.

Thud—

After Third Uncle got out last, he shut the door.

Li Yu looked up at the tall building.

The sun was setting in the west, shining on the building, with them standing with their backs to the light.

They came out from the parking lot’s corner, and the entrance to this building was not far, only twenty meters away.

Dong Tai pointed to the building and said, ”There it is, but we’ll probably have to exert some effort climbing the stairs.”

Over twenty floors, hundreds of steps.

Climb!

The revolving door of this building was blocked by a few chairs inside, but the glass door beside it was shattered. The surrounding windows displayed a web-like breakage pattern.

It seemed that some survivors had stayed here before, but unfortunately, they were overtaken by zombies.

After getting out, Li Yu put on his helmet.

The glass on the first floor of the building was covered in black volcanic ash, making it mottled.

The sunlight outside couldn’t penetrate this barrier, making the lobby somewhat dim and hard to see.

Li Yu held a gun in one hand and a flashlight in the other, shining it into the hall.

Crunch—

Li Yu looked down and saw he had accidentally stepped on a piece of broken glass beneath his feet.

Everyone entered through this side glass door, turning on their flashlights.

Entering this dilapidated building, they saw that the lobby had become unrecognizable.

The once-glittering lobby was now in ruins, filled with shattered glass, broken walls, and tattered furniture.

The floor was littered with heaps of chaotic garbage and debris, making it difficult to distinguish what they used to be.

The ceiling lights had long been extinguished, and the paint on the walls had peeled off, revealing dark water stains and cracks on the wall.
