Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 812: Chapter 604: Innate Vices—Bullying the Weak, Fearing the Strong, Bullying the Good, Fearing the Wicked (Ten Thousand Words, Monthly Ticket Requested)

Li Yu left the excited crowd with Li Tie, heading towards a building in the First Outer City.

Zhou Ran and He Bing were at the house next to the residential building.

This house was originally built for storing sundries.

At this moment, Zhou Ran and the others were using it as a place for transformation.

He Bing and his team often researched and made things here.

Li Yu, with Li Tie, walked to the door of the house and heard the conversation inside:

”Zhou Ran, I think there’s still some problem with the stability of the leg parts. We need to maintain the sensitivity while also solving the stability issue, otherwise the zombies might easily slip from there.”

”Well, in that case, for stability, we can make a steel plate with a buckle, so that the zombies are locked in and can only move forward, pulling the steel rings as they walk.”

”That could work, but to make use of these human-powered generators, we still need these zombies to step. The problem is that zombies aren’t very sensitive out of the rain, making the rotational stepping movements challenging. It might be better to have a device pulling their legs, allowing them to charge just by walking.”

”Let’s try it. We’ll make two and see which one performs better.”

”Sure.”

.....

Li Yu walked into the room.

Seeing the two were still discussing, he cleared his throat softly.

The two turned their heads and saw Li Yu.

He Bing spoke up: ”Hello Director Li, I just saw Li Hang come in, heard he said you arrived, and was about to come out to meet you.”

Li Yu laughed and said: ”Couldn’t tell, I was outside listening to you guys discuss for quite a while.”

He Bing felt a bit embarrassed being found out. He’s the type of person who, once involved in something, would put his heart and soul into it and ignore everything else.

Seeing He Bing’s embarrassment, Li Yu didn’t tease him further.

He walked up to them and asked: ”How’s the progress?”

Zhou Ran glanced at He Bing, who signaled for him to speak.

So he said: ”We’ve completed the first prototype, Director Li. See, this zombie is bound here and can pull the wheel through walking, and the wheel’s rotation generates electricity, which then charges the battery linked behind.

........”

Li Yu looked at where he pointed; the zombie was tied up with all limbs secured, only able to move forward.

In front of it, there was a bowl of pig blood.

This pig blood was from pigs slaughtered a while ago, acquired by Zhou Ran to lure the zombies.

The zombie, seeing the pig blood, naturally moved forward.

As it moved, it rotated the wheel, naturally generating electricity.

Li Yu looked at the device and nodded slightly.

He was just about to ask.

Then he heard Zhou Ran continue to say: ”The main issue now is that during the zombie’s movement, the leg binding is not stable enough. However, if it’s too stable, the sensitivity is insufficient, and without enough sensitivity, speed can’t be achieved, reducing the power generation efficiency. We’re trying to solve this problem now.

Also, we need to fix the zombie so it can only move forward, stabilizing all the sides. Currently, this device is still too bulky, and we’re working on a solution.”

Li Yu laughed and praised: ”Not bad, you guys are doing great! At the very least, you have proven one thing: the idea of zombie power generation can be realized.

Starting is always the hardest part, but you’ve begun well. As for how to upgrade and modify, take your time; you will certainly solve it.”

After saying this, Li Yu clapped his hands to cheer them on.

Li Tie beside Li Yu and Li Hang, who entered earlier, also clapped for them.

This round of praise made Zhou Ran and He Bing a bit embarrassed, as they both waved to indicate that there was still much to improve.

Li Yu stood next to the zombie and observed it carefully.

Seeing the zombie’s arms were still there, he asked: ”Can the zombie’s arms be cut off directly?”

Zhou Ran said: ”They can be chopped off, but considering that zombies, without both hands, can easily lose balance while walking, we haven’t removed them.”

Li Yu pointed to the two arms of the zombie, bound with a rope, and said: ”But these arms aren’t being used now; they’re all tied up.

I can guess the reason you tied the zombie’s arms is that they might grab things randomly during movement, damaging the apparatus and being difficult to manage?”

He Bing nodded: ”Yes, we’re also debating how best to handle these arms.”

”My suggestion is, since they are useless, simply cut them off for better control. With fewer ropes tying the zombie’s arms, it would simplify the setup a bit.”

Zhou Ran thought about it and agreed with Li Yu’s reasoning, so he said: ”Alright, we’ll try chopping the zombie’s arms and see what happens.”

”Hmm. You guys keep at it; do your best.”

Zhou Ran and He Bing both nodded, patting their chests to assure the task completion.

Li Yu didn’t rush them to hurry, as fine work takes time.

The weather has improved now, so solar panels can function normally, and there’s no urgency for the zombie generator.

Stability, with less possibility of issues, is what Li Yu values the most.

So, Li Yu reminded them once more: ”Considering it’s a zombie, make sure to prioritize safety during your research. Additionally, once the zombie’s teeth are removed, weld its mouth directly to its skull, and as for the headgear, direct weld it, fixing the headgear and its skull together without any keys, just weld them shut.
