Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 803: Chapter 601: Milking the Elders, There’s a Trick!

This disaster, which lasted several months, has finally come to a halt.

From the very beginning, the slowly rising high temperatures.

Then the drought and water scarcity issues caused by the high temperatures.

Then volcanic eruptions and earthquakes broke out, covering the globe in volcanic ash.

The whole world fell into darkness, and amidst the darkness, acid rain continued to fall.

Due to the volcanic eruptions, global temperatures dropped, plummeting to below minus ten degrees.

Many people fell ill due to the temperature changes.

It wasn’t over. Following the drop in temperature, black snowflakes began to fall.

And once the sky darkened, the zombies all emerged, and the zombie tide lasted for a long time.

This disaster claimed many lives.

Juzi Island, from over three hundred people, was sharply reduced to over sixty, losing four-fifths of the population, and almost every one of the remaining people was injured.

Being an island surrounded by water, although zombies could swim, due to the flowing river, it was difficult for zombies to stack up to a height enough to reach the walls.

However, during the extreme heat, the river dried up, leading zombies to charge ahead, causing great impact on them. Later, when the temperatures dropped below minus ten degrees, the river froze, allowing zombies to stack up and reach the walls.

Every occurrence of the zombie tide followed a pattern, influenced not only by geographical factors but also by one characteristic:

The places with more people often had larger zombie tides.

In the Western Alliance of Sichuan Province, a zombie tide of millions erupted, primarily because of the large number of people there.

...

Juzi Island.

The sun is shining brightly.

The long-awaited sunlight shone on the walls, reflecting off the water.

The shimmering light danced on gold.

Splash—

A body was thrown from the wall, falling into the river, splashing water.

”How many bodies are left?” A man with a bandage wrapped around his shoulder looked at the bodies floating downstream and couldn’t help but ask the person moving bodies with him.

”Around dozens, hurry and move them out. Brother Hai said we must get rid of them today. In this sun, if they’re left out too long, they’ll start to stink.”

”Alright. We just tossed Little Zheng down, sigh, do you remember him? Quite an active guy.” The man watched the body just thrown drift downstream with the current.

”Don’t get so sentimental, hurry and get all the bodies out. After this work, I need a good rest.”

The man said to the person with a face corroded by acid rain, looking somewhat terrifying: ”Alright, this acid rain is harmful. My shoulder is still swollen, with rashes, itches terribly.”

”You’re lucky, I’ve completely ruined my face, but it doesn’t matter. Damn it.” He spat into the river.

....

Hai Chao looked at his right hand which was mostly healed, took some anti-inflammatory drugs, and finally, the wound improved.

He sat on the steps, watching his men carry the bodies.

Recently, during battles with zombies, some climbed in and were killed, while some got bitten during zombie encounters and were taken out by their own people.

His heart was filled with complex emotions, in just a few months, the population in their base dwindled to only dozens.

”What are you thinking?” Footsteps sounded behind him, it was Baozi.

Baozi plopped down beside Hai Chao and patted him on the shoulder.

After the last fight by the wall, where Hai Chao saved Baozi’s life, their relationship improved significantly.

Hai Chao turned his head to see Baozi, shook his head, and said: ”Nonsense, sometimes living feels meaningless, it’s just so fucking tiring.”

Baozi was stunned, he didn’t expect Hai Chao to be so contemplative, as Hai Chao had always been someone strong inside in his eyes.

”Don’t think too much, jeez, we’ve survived, right?”

”Yes, we survived.”

The two didn’t speak further; recently they enjoyed sunbathing, whenever they had time and sunlight, they would bask in the sun.

The sunlight shimmered gently, warmth lingered.

Gan Shang was also sunbathing on the rooftop, gazing at the swirling river, his mind teeming with thoughts.

His only son still had no news, and he had completely lost hope.

Xiao Jun!

The name flashed in his mind, his eyes instantly engulfed with fury.

There remains revenge unfulfilled, yet now he has suffered heavy losses, with only dozens of people left under his command, and over the protracted disaster, their weapons and ammunition are nearly exhausted.

Even worse, there wasn’t enough food.

From before the high temperatures to now, it had been several months without going to Sichuan Province to see his father.

Seeing the weather return to normal, the urgent matter at hand is to send people to the Western Alliance headquarters to transport food and manpower over.

Recalling his father telling him last time, it was the last time he would provide resources, and he urged him to gather people and develop agriculture.

No one could foresee Ju Tianrui and the others departing, coupled with natural disasters, reducing the base that once housed over two thousand people including refugees to now only over sixty.

”Alas, I have no choice but to send someone there, hopefully, facing such a difficult situation, Father will understand me.” Gan Shang thought.

The key issue is his son, Gan Gaojie, this matter cannot end like this.

It must be thoroughly investigated, to find out who, and where.

Sending someone to the Western Alliance is urgently needed.
