Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 808: Chapter 602: Base Review—Three Problems to Solve (Part 3)

”Um, Director Li, may I interrupt?” Old Lv suddenly raised his hand.

Li Yu looked at him with some curiosity. Old Lv usually spoke little during meetings, typically sitting quietly on the side and listening.

Now, raising his hand, he seemed to have something to say, and everyone looked at him with some confusion.

”Go ahead.” Li Yu paused, gesturing for Old Lv to speak.

The reason for having so many attendees at this meeting is not just about representation of authority, but more importantly, having many people with different opinions can help fill in gaps.

After all, everyone’s thinking is different, and sometimes when more people discuss together, a more comprehensive decision can emerge.

Old Lv coughed and then spoke: ”Our base has four sides, apart from one side bordering a cliff and another facing a rural road, the other two sides are near the woods.

Actually, I’m thinking, should we expand the base again? After all, we are no longer just a few dozen people.

To the west, behind the woods, there’s a small hill. Perhaps we could just enclose it. That way, we can hollow out the hill directly and build a large plantation.”

He finished speaking and sat back down.

Silence.

Everyone fell into silence.

Old Lv’s idea was quite bold, but indeed creative.

Hollowing out a hill?

It is indeed very stable, and crops can be grown on the hill, new solar panels can be installed, achieving two aims with one effort.

But it also faces a problem: the project is too large.

This scale of project was a huge undertaking even before Doomsday, let alone during it.

It requires a lot of manpower and resources.

If not managed well, everyone might invest a year without completing it.

The quick construction of the Second Outer City was just the building of a wall on flat ground. Building on flat ground is simple.

But if construction is to be done in the woods, the difficulty increases geometrically.

Let alone hollowing out an entire mountain cave.

Li Yu didn’t directly reject the idea but turned to Ding Jiu and Father Li: ”Dad, Ding Jiu, could you evaluate the scale of this project, its practicality, approximate difficulty, and timeline?”

Father Li, before Doomsday, worked on concrete pipes and occasionally took on small projects, so he doesn’t have much experience with such large-scale projects.

Ding Jiu used to be a big contractor, having undertaken several billion-dollar projects for the Government. Seeing Father Li not speak, he hesitated for a moment before saying, ”From an implementation standpoint, it’s achievable, but it might require a lot of materials and labor.

However, steel and concrete can be managed, Fu Sheng can produce concrete, resolving the concrete issue as well.

For detailed implementation, we need to study further, and for now, there’s no definitive answer.”

Li Yu nodded, indeed it needs evaluation.

He then said, ”Old Lv’s idea is very bold and creative. Whether it can be done is another matter. The main thing is to propose ideas, encourage everyone to come up with ideas.

Whether or not to pursue this idea can wait until after we evaluate it.

But it doesn’t prevent us from building outdoor greenhouses and expanding the Underground Plantation. Let’s vote whether to proceed with this.”

As soon as he finished speaking.

Everyone raised their hands.

”Okay, regarding the construction of outdoor greenhouses and the expansion of the Underground Plantation, it’s unanimously approved.”

Li Yu picked up the water glass on the table and took a sip.

Then continued, ”The next matter involves Juzi Island’s aftermath following Gan Gaojie’s elimination, and how to handle it.”

”First, my view: Third Uncle and Uncle Qin have been to Juzi Island, and from Ju Tianrui and Xiao Jun’s accounts, Gan Shang has backing from the Western Alliance.

Western Alliance, this name shouldn’t be unfamiliar to anyone.

My idea is, take advantage of the post-natural disaster period, and quickly deal with Juzi Island’s Gan Shang. As for the Western Alliance, we’re not too familiar yet, but just from Ju Tianrui’s words, it’s a massive base with strong power.

Currently, I’m the covert enemy, we must fully utilize this beneficial condition and immediately deal with Gan Shang at Juzi Island.

Preventing Gan Shang from finding Western Alliance’s help, which could be troublesome for us later.

In short, I plan to take people out tomorrow and eliminate them.”

Despite the seemingly calm tone, it was filled with murderous intent.

Everyone was already accustomed to Li Yu’s modus operandi.

Because of this cautious attitude, the base has not faced any dangerous situations so far.

Before Doomsday, nations didn’t emphasize morals.

In Doomsday, naturally, groups don’t emphasize morals.

Everything is to survive.

Uncle hesitated, wanting to say something, but ultimately chose silence.

Dapao was all excited and said to Li Yu, ”I want in; include me in this mission.”

”Ahem, I haven’t mentioned specific personnel for the mission yet; we’ll discuss that later. Let’s first discuss how to handle Gan Shang at Juzi Island.”

Everyone was somewhat embarrassed.

Damn it, you’ve laid out your thoughts, what else can others say?

Li Tie hesitated for a moment and said, ”What if they’ve been wiped out in this disaster, should we directly seek out Western Alliance?”

Li Yu shook his head and said, ”Not going over there directly, we don’t understand them well enough yet. Blindly going could land us in trouble.

However, some people should be sent to investigate and understand the situation in Western Alliance.

Just hoping there’s no conflict between us, as I prefer peace; if we can achieve peace, that’s best.

I’ve heard from Ju Tianrui that Gan Shang’s father is Gan Xiong, and Gan Xiong was the founder of the Western Alliance.”

Li Tie nodded, indicating he understood.

Yang Tianlong didn’t quite understand, so he asked, ”You mean, we first take out Gan Shang, then get information on Western Alliance from their mouths?

Then, after understanding Western Alliance, if peace can be achieved, we’ll do so; if not, we’ll find a way to eliminate Western Alliance?”

”That’s roughly the idea.” Li Yu nodded and said.

But Li Hang, aside, curled his lips, not believing peace could be achieved.
