Chapter 734: Chapter 574: It’s So Damn Dark! [Seeking Monthly Tickets]_2

”Quick!” Li Yu said.

Li Tie and three or four others hurriedly stepped forward to help pull the zombie up.

On the side, Song Min and others were not idle either, aiming at the heads of the zombies pulling on the rope and shooting.

The zombie was slowly dragged up, its body twisting, making it even harder for Li Yu and the others to pull it up.

Even more zombies clung onto its legs, prompting Song Min and the others to quickly shoot with their crossbows.

Thwack—

Finally, the zombie was pulled to the middle of the wall.

The height of eight or nine meters made it impossible for the zombies below to reach.

They could only roar powerlessly.

The zombie was gradually dragged up by Li Yu and his team.

Almost as soon as it was pulled up, its head was covered with an iron hood.

Sizzle—

The hood instantly closed.

The others also came forward to handcuff the zombie’s arms.

The zombie seemed very angry, its mouth wide open, roaring in fury.

Li Yu, feeling somewhat irritated after seeing it, struck the iron hood with a stick, creating a ringing sound.

”Take it to the Research Room for Bai Jie and Ma Di to study it, see if there’s any difference between this zombie and the previous ones.”

Li Yu looked at the zombie and said to Dapao.

”Okay.” Dapao and Li Tie lowered their heads, signaling for him to help and go together.

Seeing the two leave, contemplation appeared in Li Yu’s eyes.

The changes in these zombies were not good news; according to his memory, the skin of these zombies was tougher than before.

...

...

Western Alliance.

After the aftershocks of the earthquake, everything seemed to have fallen into calm.

However, the volcanic ash still drifting in the air and the smell of sulfur made people remain frightened.

They didn’t know what would happen next.

Especially since, the East Wall had collapsed.

Gan Long and Gan Hu, two brothers, led hundreds of people to the collapsed site of the East Wall.

The ground cracked, and a trench more than half a meter wide appeared.

The East Wall had collapsed by one tenth.

Tens of meters of the wall, twisted and fallen on the ground.

Without hesitation, Gan Long and Gan Hu directed people to bring several large trucks to block the collapsed site, then stationed about a dozen people on the trucks to keep watch.

Others were tasked to move cement and bricks.

The newly constructed wall was behind the trench, with those tens of meters of the wall shifted back five to six meters.

Gan Long took charge of repairing the wall, while Gan Hu led people to maintain martial law on the trucks.

As time passed, more and more of Gan Xiong’s subordinates gathered, but apart from Lao Zhuang’s group, the rest were sent to the East Wall for emergency repairs.

Chao Sheng, who was always responsible for the wall’s defense, also hurriedly came to see Gan Xiong.

”Boss, we just saw zombies in the west!” Chao Sheng said.

!!

Gan Xiong’s expression changed abruptly: ”How many?”

”Until I came here, I saw thousands. There are more continuously coming from behind.”

Gan Xiong frowned and said to Chao Sheng: ”You go first, stop the zombies as before, and make sure not a single one gets in.”

Chao Sheng’s expression changed and he said: ”Boss, the zombies I just saw have changed, they have no hair and their skin looks frighteningly white.”

Gan Xiong was surprised, thought for a moment, and said: ”You go first. Make sure to protect yourself.”

Then, he turned to Lao Zhuang and said, ”Take everyone and go to the East Wall. It has collapsed, and zombies will definitely come through there. We need to support them.”

Lao Zhuang gathered people, leaving some to guard their granary, while all others raced to the East Wall.

As Gan Xiong walked, he suddenly turned back to Lao Zhuang and said, ”Let the other factions also send people, don’t always rely on us to hold the fort. If the wall breaks, they won’t escape unscathed either. Just tell those old foxes my words.”

Lao Zhuang agreed; after all, they built the foundation and provided such an environment. Why should they always be the ones to step up?

So, he nodded and turned toward the buildings inside the base.

East Wall.

With the style of Gan Xiong, Gan Long and Gan Hu worked decisively and swiftly.

In less than an hour, they had already dug some pits, preparing to lay down rebar and cement.

The weather was hot, and the wall’s construction hardened quickly.

But just then,

Outside the East Wall, far from the trucks,

The roar of zombies appeared, getting closer.

Gan Hu, holding a searchlight, swept it towards that direction.

It revealed further distances.

Hundreds of zombies were seen running towards them.

The light of the searchlight, reflecting off the smooth skin of the zombies, emitted a shining glow.

But these zombies seemed to despise the light.

The light hitting them enraged them even more,

Making them run faster.

”Zombies! All hands on deck!” Gan Hu reacted quickly, shouting to everyone present.

Gan Long, with a flash of determination in his eyes, rushed to the truck and saw the zombies charging towards them.

With no time to observe the changes in these zombies, he roared, ”Everyone stop building the wall, take up arms and resist the zombies!”

The response of the people was swift; all were elite.

Without any hesitation, those with spears took spears, those with guns took guns, and those without took what was at hand, pulling out rebar, ready for battle.
