Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 717: Chapter 569: Sincerity and Choice (Two in One, Bonus Update for the Largest Event!)

There are 3 hours and 40 minutes left until Big Camphor Tree Base seals off the city.

Li Yu remembered that there was a day and night until the volcano eruption.

...

Outside the duty room, a hurried burst of footsteps approached.

Old Lü, Li Hang, Li Tie, Li Gang, Second Uncle, Third Uncle, Dapao, and over a hundred people, carrying firearms, were rushing this way.

Mortars were pulled out from the duty room and mounted on the surrounding wall.

Six mortars were firmly placed on top of the wall, the hot air scorching the mortars, the barrels slightly overheated, and the bombs not yet retrieved.

Three huge heavy machine guns had always been on the wall, and now the heat insulation covers on them were removed.

Ever since the last time Li Yu and Old Luo went to the military district, they brought back a few tanks, armored vehicles, mortars, assault rifles, and other equipment.

Li Yu also installed some on the surrounding wall; the mortars, weighing just a few dozen pounds, were easy to move, so each of the five duty rooms at the base had two installed, strengthening the defense of Big Camphor Tree Base.

This kind of defense intensity, in today’s apocalyptic world, was considered extremely formidable.

Dapao and others wore bullet-proof vests over their protective clothing, with serious expressions. They didn’t yet know what was happening, only that Third Uncle said to be on Level Three alert.

Seeing their serious faces, Li Yu explained to them that Xiao Jun’s Camp Commander and others were coming.

And Xiao Jun, seeing their actions, was somewhat dumbfounded.

What??

What the hell is this?

How did so much heavy firepower suddenly appear?

While surprised, he was secretly alarmed.

He had seen Old Lü and Old Qin; their equipment and individual capabilities were enough to astonish him, but he never expected there to be so much firepower.

Old Qin also went up on the city walls, looking at Third Uncle, he asked, ”Captain, what happened? Should we let the brothers roll out the tanks?”

Third Uncle was somewhat speechless, shook his head, and said, ”It’s nothing, just Li Yu being cautious. Let’s see how things go; if there’s any issue, then we can let the brothers roll out the tanks, but likely it won’t be necessary. Don’t be agitated.”

Old Qin scratched his head, confused.

Seeing the doubt and surprise in Xiao Jun’s eyes, Li Yu thought for a moment and said to him, ”Don’t be nervous, this is just routine operation within the base. As long as we confirm it’s them and they don’t have hostile intentions, we won’t attack, rest assured.”

Even so, Xiao Jun was still somewhat apprehensive. He wasn’t worried that Li Yu and his group would be at a disadvantage; he was afraid that if they accidentally fired, it would be all over.

Such firepower indicated they were preparing for a mid-sized battle.

Seeing Xiao Jun still had concerns, Li Yu spoke again, ”It’s their first time coming here, later you have to explain the base’s rules to them.

Given your presence, and respecting your identities, I definitely mean well, don’t worry. This is just for show.”

Listening to the rules Li Yu mentioned, Xiao Jun recalled the rules of Big Camphor Tree Base and then said somewhat conflictedly:

”Of course, I will definitely go out and explain it to them, but, just that I remember there is one rule, that people who have not cooperated with the base can’t seek refuge here in the current phase.

But they, it’s their first time coming, and with the environment outside being so harsh, they also can’t perform some tasks to exchange for Contribution Value?”

Li Yu heard this, frowned, thought for a moment, then discussed it with Second Uncle, Third Uncle, Uncle for two minutes.

Then he said to Xiao Jun: ”Strictly speaking, the last time you went on a mission to the steel factory, the steel and coal points exchanged were quite a lot.

Even enough for more than thirty of you to enter the Outer City, but there’s still an inspection phase.

Now you have two options in front of you.

First option.

You and Ju Tianrui’s team are originally one team, you can come over and cooperate with us, and the missions performed can also be counted as theirs, it’s just that if calculated this way, you have to average it out and you won’t have as many points to enter the city.

You’ll have to earn enough points to enter the city again.

However, there’s also a benefit, as people from a team, you can all be considered as having cooperated with the base, so you can enter the city as Cooperative Personnel, and we will also provide you some help.

Second option.

Your points remain unchanged, and after a period of assessment, you can join the Outer City.

But Ju Tianrui and others will not be able to enter the city again, this point, fair and impartial, is not only for you but also for the consideration of other Extra Staff and Cooperative Personnel.

I cannot favor less but must ensure fairness, please understand.

But, apart from that, in a personal capacity, I can provide some help to Ju Tianrui and his team to stay in houses outside the base and provide some support.

What do you choose?”

Xiao Jun listened carefully to all that Li Yu said, without any hesitation, he said to Li Yu, ”Director Li, I choose the first option.”

Li Yu nodded; he had already guessed that Xiao Jun would choose this.

Currently, inside and outside the base, nearly three hundred people.

Over a hundred Extra Staff, over a thousand Cooperative Personnel.

Ju Tianrui and Xiao Jun’s group totaled a hundred people; suddenly letting so many people join would definitely post some hidden risks to the base.

The problem of control.
