Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

The outcome of the incident took Li Yu by surprise. Li Yu had good academic performance and the teachers favored him, plus, he was not at fault in this matter. In the end, both Li Yu and the other student received a warning as punishment from the school.

Li Yu withdrew his gaze from the teaching building and steadied himself.

He then turned around and headed for the auto repair shop.

Li Hang and the others were currently modifying the huge loader, which had already been under modification for some time now.

Entering the room, Li Yu saw Li Hang, Dapao, Third Uncle, among others, working on the modifications of the giant loader, which was already taking shape.

The cold steel exuded a cruel aura, and the prominent spikes resembled fangs; the chainsaws fitted on both sides, once activated, would greatly enhance the efficiency of killing zombies.

No zombie could come close to this vehicle; any that approached would be shredded by the chainsaws.

Looking at the giant loader that was being modified, which was already showing its impressive stature, Li Yu was very satisfied with the current progress of the modifications.

He saw that underneath the giant loader, Li Hang and Third Uncle were moving a piece of steel for welding.

Their figures appeared quite miniature under the loader.

The loader was very powerful, with plenty of horsepower, but it had one major drawback: fuel consumption.

Seeing Li Yu come in, Third Uncle wiped his hands and approached, asking:

”Now that those 100 plus people have been let in, you mentioned you had some arrangements; can you talk about your plans now?”

Li Yu glanced at Dapao and the others and then responded:

”As the base begins to expand and collaborate with people outside, there will inevitably be some fish in troubled waters. Since that’s the case, we might as well let them in.

In the next two days, we should inquire and see if we can get some information out of them.”

Third Uncle nodded; to him, who had become accustomed to life and death, the fate of those outside the base didn’t matter.

He was only worried about one thing, whether these people would become a highly unstable factor.

Li Yu noticed Third Uncle’s concerns and spoke slowly:

”I have dispatched eight or nine people on the wall, watching them all the time.

Plus, He Chao and his people are keeping an eye on them as well, and they have camera surveillance.

Moreover, they don’t have firearms or weapons, so there shouldn’t be big problems...”

Third Uncle thought for a moment and after hearing Li Yu’s arrangements, he felt much more at ease; after all, this level of defense was already very strict.

Since the apocalypse, his nephew seemed to have changed, becoming extremely stable and mature in his actions, meticulous in consideration, and thoughtful in every aspect.

After Li Yu left the auto repair shop,

he went straight to the medical center, where he saw the injured Li Tie, Ding Jiu, and others.

Lying on the beds, their faces appeared a bit fatter; it seemed that the base’s food was indeed good, and their recent lack of exercise, so putting on weight was normal.

Seeing them, Li Yu asked, ”How are you guys doing, brothers?”

Li Tie lifted his foot and said, ”Not bad, currently growing flesh, but probably have to rest for another half a month or so.”

Ding Jiu was still half sitting on the bed.

Occasionally he moved slightly, but even that small movement made him grimace in pain. The bullet had hit his shoulder blade directly and went through.

An injury to the tendons and bones requires a hundred days of recovery; it seems like Ding Jiu really needs some time to heal.

With a wry smile, Ding Jiu said, ”I reckon it will take quite a few days... Ouch. Being shot through by a bullet is no pleasant experience.”

Li Yu brought some fruits harvested from the underground plantation and shared them among them.

Then he said, ”Alright, you guys heal up well. Don’t worry about things outside, I’ve got it covered. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be off now.”

Everyone agreed.

After leaving the medical center, Li Yu kept thinking about how to communicate with these people who had just entered.

In the pouring rain, due to the erected tarps, the hundred or so people who had entered the Outer City didn’t have to worry about getting drenched.

As the day darkened, Li Yu still decided to go and have a look.

Since returning to the interior of the base yesterday, Li Yu had not been to the Outer City.

Drip-drop, drip-drop.

Li Yu trudged through the puddles and braved the rain, heading towards the fence.

Before Li Yu could reach the fence, a voice came through the walkie-talkie.

He Chao was heard saying, ”Director Li, can I use the gun?

The people who came in yesterday seem to have some intentions; they want to enter the big house.

I observed just now, it’s mainly a few people stirring the crowd, inciting everyone.”

Before Li Yu could reply, a gunshot was heard.

Bang!

Li Yu paused, and Li Gang’s voice quickly came through the walkie-talkie: ”Big brother, there’s a riot at the outer wall, just fired a warning shot. To warn them.”

Li Yu’s eyes narrowed and he said, ”Good.”

While walking, Li Yu took out the walkie-talkie and said to He Chao, ”Heard that? Don’t hesitate, next time if they make a move again, shoot directly.”

Slowly walking towards the top of the fence, Li Yu saw from above that the people who had just entered the Outer City were divided into two groups.

One group was quietly staying against the fence; the tarp covered them from the rain, while they watched the other group.

The other group was braving the rain, standing about ten meters away from the bungalow, constantly talking.

”Shoot!? They’re just trying to scare us.”

”It’s raining so heavily, they’ve let us in anyway, why won’t they let us into the house?”

”That’s right, that’s right, you guys are being too selfish. What time is it now? It’s time to huddle together for warmth, being factional is unacceptable.”

”I say, there’s no point in begging them. We shouldn’t have any hope for such selfish people.”

”I don’t believe it, I want to enter the house, dare they really shoot?!”

....

More and more unpleasant words were spoken, and the language was escalating to a national disgrace.

But Li Yu didn’t react much; instead, he watched the reactions of those noisy people below.

There weren’t many people arguing to enter the house below, but there were nearly twenty of them.

Mainly men, and a few women.

In the pouring rain, these people were all soaked.

Li Yu looked at them, feeling somewhat amused; he was not sure if it was because the deeds of the Big Camphor Tree Base hadn’t spread widely enough.

Was it because of this that these people thought they could be easily bullied?

Li Gang and Song Min, Li Haoran, and others on the fence, seeing Li Yu had already reached the fence, halted their intention to shoot, letting Li Yu make the decision.

According to Li Yu’s previous instructions, if there was a riot, they should suppress it violently without needing to ask for permission.

But now that Li Yu had come over, he would make the decision.

Those people below continued to be aggressive:

A middle-aged man with glasses said, ”Humph, I knew it, their shooting was just to scare us, they need people for this base to grow, how can they neglect public sentiment?

If they can’t even do this, then does this base deserve our trust? I think, better not to join such a base.

If you dare, shoot me dead!!”

Bang!

As soon as he finished speaking, a bullet went straight through the man’s head.

White brain matter and red blood were smeared everywhere in the rain.

People around instantly went silent.

They cringed and took a few steps back.

With faces full of terror, they looked towards the person who had just fired. They hadn’t expected it.

The people on the fence really dared to shoot!

Whereas Li Gang, Song Min, and others had a look on their faces that said they knew it would come to this.

Old Lü and Old Xie, looking at Li Yu who had just fired, then exchanged glances.
