Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

To address the construction of the base.

And it needs to be done step by step. As long as the outer walls can continue to be built and more land can be cultivated, more people can be fed.

Moreover, their food reserves haven’t been touched yet.

Now that the base has been exposed, since it has been exposed, there will inevitably be covetous eyes.

Since it is difficult to defend completely, it is better to dredge than to block. Since it must become stronger, the most prudent approach is to sort, to screen, and to let these people complete tasks, selecting suitable individuals to join the base.

By issuing tasks, almost all of the survivors near Xin City can have a chance to obtain food.

And for the base, it can also bring benefits.

Completing tasks, for the base, is not just about collecting needed materials.

It is also an assessment for recruiting personnel.

All this was something Li Yu had thought of beforehand.

Now, He Chao has just brought it up.

Li Yu took this opportunity to expand the scope and scale of cooperation.

He composed his expression and said to He Chao:

”Now, I also have an idea.

With the manpower you currently have, it might not be enough to gather the materials the base needs.

Since there are more people who want to cooperate now, we can work with them.

You, representing me. Discuss with them the basic requirements for cooperation; later on, I will send someone over to help you manage this with you.

Besides, we are dividing it into four levels...”

Li Yu repeated the plans he had discussed before with Second Uncle and the others to He Chao.

Listening, He Chao’s eyes grew brighter; with arrangements like those of Li Yu, the base would certainly grow larger.

And not in an insubstantial way, but rather in a very stable manner.

And all the control remains in the hands of the base. They wouldn’t have to worry about a rapid increase in numbers that could lead to the base’s destruction.

Nor would they have to worry about too many strangers entering the base, making it difficult to manage, and eventually leading to internal strife.

After all, to accumulate so many points would require making significant contributions to the base. Since there are so many contributions, the likelihood of rebellion is greatly reduced.

Additionally, this method also allows most people in Xin City to feel trust and a sense of belonging towards the Big Camphor Tree Base.

And with each upgrade, their sense of belonging to the Big Camphor Tree Base invisibly grows.

Moreover, precisely because it is not easy, because it is hard to level up, they will treasure it.

The scarcity makes them see the strength of the base, making them feel that entering the base is a matter of honor, even creating a sentiment:

Entering the Inner City of the Big Camphor Tree Base is like entering a paradise, entering the Holy City!

The Holy City! The only sanctuary in this apocalyptic world.

....

Then Li Yu continued: ”This time, the items you are looking for can also be sought with the help of those outside.

And the food exchange is the same; as long as they can find it, they can exchange for the corresponding food.”

He Chao nodded and said, ”Understood, I’ll discuss it with them once I’m out.”

Looking at He Chao, Li Yu thought of the personnel on duty near the national highway and asked, ”How are the personnel arranged for duty near the base, on the national highway?”

Upon hearing Li Yu’s inquiry, He Chao replied, ”Currently on both sides of the national highway, they are in pairs.”

Li Yu hummed in acknowledgment.

Then he added, ”Walkie-talkies and such, have been provided to them, right? Also, in terms of their food, it should be sufficient with the supplies you have now, right?”

Hearing this, a grateful expression appeared on He Chao’s face, and he said, ”We have enough. Everyone is full of energy.

Thanks to some food obtained from cooperation with Director Li, as well as the rewards you gave last time, and the 7 kilograms of rice distributed from your side every month.

We have enough now.”

Li Yu looked at his expression, which did not seem feigned. One day on a visit, he would chat with his subordinates to see if it was really enough.

After all, at any time, there is a possibility of embezzlement.

Although the chances of He Chao embezzling were almost none, Li Yu was overly cautious.

Then Li Yu said, ”Currently, you are assigned four handguns as standard equipment. If you don’t know how to use them,

you can ask Dapao or my Third Uncle to teach you.

...”

He Chao, moved by Li Yu’s meticulous care, was too touched to speak, the gratitude in his eyes towards Li Yu slowly becoming evident.

After Li Yu finished saying these things, he patted He Chao on the shoulder.

He walked towards the several rows of houses built previously in the Outer City.

There were many vacant rooms in the houses.

Although there were no lights in each room, there were some lights in the common areas outside the rooms.

Although there was no running water in each room, there were several taps in the common area, and everyone could come here to collect water.

For them, this was already a great provision.

Li Yu walked towards the house where they lived, encountering some of He Chao’s brothers and family members along the way. Upon seeing Li Yu,

they all came forward to express their gratitude.

Dapao and Li Hang, who were following Li Yu, were discussing with He Chao when they could teach them to use firearms.

Just a moment ago, He Chao had wanted to accompany Li Yu for a walk, but Li Yu declined; there was no one in the Outer City who did not know Li Yu.

Moreover, there was Li Yu’s ulterior motive.
