Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

With William Quinn clinging to her like this, Iris Yates couldn’t eat in peace. Not daring to provoke him, she had no choice but to pick up the chopsticks and shove them into his hand.

”Your name is Chinese, and you can speak it. Have you really never learned how to use chopsticks?” Iris Yates couldn’t help but ask curiously.

William Quinn’s expression twisted for a moment, then quickly returned to normal. ”The person who gave me my name and taught me to speak,” he said, ”died before they had the chance to teach me how to use chopsticks.”

Iris Yates’s expression stiffened. ”I’m sorry...”

”Baby!” William Quinn pulled her into a hug. ”You’re such a soft-hearted girl. Don’t apologize to me, it’s nothing!”

Iris Yates was speechless.

William Quinn broke into a grin. ”Baby, teach me. You’re always by my side, so you’ll teach me, right?”

His blue eyes sparkled as he gazed at Iris Yates, once again using his good looks to bewitch her.

Iris Yates lowered her gaze. ”I’m not a good teacher,” she said. ”I can only give you a general idea of what to do. You’ll have to explore and figure out the rest on your own.”

”Okay, I’ll listen to you.”

William Quinn stopped bothering her and actually started listening seriously as she explained how to hold the chopsticks, how to secure them in place, and how to maneuver them.

Iris Yates showed no impatience, her expression earnest. When she finished, she turned to look at him. ”Did you understand?”

Unexpectedly, she was met with the sight of his blue eyes, completely captivated.

He had been staring at her—for how long, she didn’t know. It was even questionable whether he had heard anything she said at all.

Iris Yates frowned. ”I’ve told you everything I know. You can practice on your own now. I’m going to eat.”

With that, she stopped looking at him, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat.

William Quinn’s heart pounded in his chest. He tightened his grip on the chopsticks; the thrill he felt in that instant was undeniable.

’He loved his baby even more.’

’I really want to do it with her right now, but Baby would be unhappy. She’s still hungry.’

’Then I’ll just wait until she’s full, and do it then!’

Iris Yates didn’t know what was going through his head, only that he spaced out for a moment before starting to fiddle with the chopsticks and practice on his own.

In no time, he successfully managed to pick up a piece of food. He looked over at her, his face lit with excitement. ”Baby, look! Aren’t I amazing?!”

Iris Yates glanced over instinctively and saw that his grip was still a bit awkward, but he had indeed managed to pick up the food.

She nodded. ”You’re very good.”

William Quinn was beaming with pride. As he kept practicing while he ate, he became more and more skillful.

He had originally planned to help his baby digest after the meal, and then do that thing they both enjoyed.

But unexpectedly, just as they finished eating, his phone rang.

William Quinn didn’t look happy about it, but he answered the phone anyway.

Iris Yates watched him walk out of the castle. She didn’t pay it much mind, settling onto the sofa and grabbing the remote to watch TV.

But a moment later, William Quinn came rushing back in. He threw his arms around her in a tight hug. ”Baby, I have to go out! I’ll be gone for several days, and I’m going to miss you so, so much!”

’This was something he had to do. After he was done, he would come back and properly be with his baby.’

Hearing this, Iris Yates’s eyes lit up for an instant!

’Is he finally leaving?’

’Does that mean her chance to escape has finally arrived?’

”Baby, you’ll miss me too, won’t you?” William Quinn asked, his voice full of reluctance and dependency as he nuzzled his cheek against hers.

And just then, the sound of a helicopter could be heard from outside.
