Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

The next evening, Walker Grant came home unusually early. He brought a doctor back with him to give Noah a check-up.

Chloe Reed was by his side, watching quietly.

A housekeeper came over and said, ”Ma’am, a Mr. Vance is outside asking to see you.”

Hearing this, Chloe Reed turned her head. ’He’s here so soon?’

’He found the results this quickly?’

Walker Grant, who was standing nearby, heard this and immediately looked over at her. His eyes darkened slightly as he asked, ”What is Preston Vance here to see you for?”

Chloe Reed looked at him and said, ”I don’t know either. I’ll find out when I see him.”

As she said this, she started walking outside.

Walker Grant immediately tried to follow, but Noah grabbed his arm. ”Uncle Walker, I’m a little scared.”

The little guy’s face was pale, and he looked at the doctor with terror in his eyes.

Almost every child is afraid of doctors.

Seeing him like this, Walker Grant’s heart softened, but he still glanced toward the door from time to time.

He hadn’t heard anything about Preston Vance for a while and thought the man wouldn’t show up again. He never expected that the moment he let his guard down, he would reappear!

Preston Vance’s appearance gave Walker Grant a slight sense of crisis.

...

At the door.

Preston Vance’s tall, slender figure stood there. He had the refined, handsome face and gentle, polished air of a nobleman’s son.

Seeing her, he got straight to the point. ”I found the person who tried to hurt you, and I got a different story from them. Are you interested in hearing it?”

Chloe Reed looked at him, confused. ”What story?”

”Sigh...”

Preston Vance let out a low sigh and said, ”I’m so sorry. It’s true that I got you involved in this. The person who ordered that man to hurt you was Ivy. She has a huge problem with you. When she found out you came to see me that day, she came up with a plan on the spot to drive a wedge between us.”

Hearing this, Chloe Reed’s eyes widened. She never would have thought it was Ivy!

’That woman really is sick!’

Chloe Reed’s expression turned cold. ”Preston, so I just suffered for no reason?”

”I’m sorry.”

Preston Vance looked at her apologetically. ”It really is my fault. I’ll make Ivy apologize to you.”

Chloe Reed crossed her arms. ”Your sister has such a huge problem with me. You really think she’s going to apologize?”

”I’ll make her come. She has to,” Preston Vance’s tone hardened. ”Chloe, I won’t let you suffer this injustice for nothing.”

With that, he turned and left.

Chloe Reed raised an eyebrow slightly. ’I really didn’t expect Ivy to be that sick in the head.’

’I feel a little guilty toward Preston now. I’ve misunderstood him for so long!’

”Chloe.”

Just then, a man’s deep, pleasant voice came from behind her.

Chloe Reed turned to look at him. ”What did the doctor say?”

A flicker of sorrow passed through Walker Grant’s eyes. ”For now, there’s no way for him to recover.”

Noah had already started using a wheelchair.

The little boy was sullen and withdrawn all day, always wondering why he couldn’t stand up anymore.

He used to be able to run and jump just fine.

Walker Grant saw all this, and it pained him deeply. That’s why he was constantly searching for a way to restore his ability to walk.

Unfortunately, there hadn’t been any progress.

Chloe Reed lowered her eyes slightly, a bitter feeling in her own heart.

The two of them fell silent for a moment. A gentle breeze swept by, causing withered yellow leaves to flutter down. The lonely feeling of autumn was especially palpable.
