The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 838: Chapter 838: Accidental Death

When it came to the issue of artificial intelligence, Mei Ruyan didn’t answer much.

Right now, they have an energy research center, but their research in this area isn’t deep. Therefore, they have strategic partnerships with other energy companies.

After answering some key questions from the reporters, Lin Tian and the others returned to the company.

The reporters left satisfied, as today’s interview provided enough material for them to write several articles.

As for the unlucky fellow Huang Shitou, he was carried by several security guards to an employee lounge in the building, and the police were also notified.

This guy attacked someone with a knife; he could be sentenced for intentional assault for quite a while. The reason he was brought inside was to prevent him from freezing to death outside or escaping.

Huang Shitou’s appearance seemed too sudden. Lin Tian had seen his performance while working at Qiansimei; apart from being a veteran employee, his achievements were quite mediocre, like someone who would blend in and go unnoticed in a crowd.

Nothing special ever happened during his employment, so why such a drastic action?

Yesterday, Lin Tian asked Pang Yu to investigate the detailed records of these employees, which were sent to his inbox last night.

Lin Tian opened Huang Shitou’s records and started going through them, finding nothing peculiar about the guy. However, two years ago, he was Du Dahai’s subordinate! Although he was unremarkable, for some unknown reason, he transferred to Bai Shishi’s Xianglong Tea House.

In the Dark Wound Association, defection and betrayal would have you criticized behind your back, and a miserable death without concern was quite normal, but this guy survived just fine. The only plausible explanation was because he was too ordinary! He had no presence whatsoever.

Recently, however, something suspicious popped up — he had frequent communication with a local phone number, prompting Lin Tian to let Eagle Eye check this number.

It turned out to belong to a man nicknamed Zuoniao, who was previously also a subordinate of Du Dahai and now works at a textile company, and funnily enough, the name is Bai’s Textiles.

Suddenly, Lin Tian felt enlightened; the Bai Family was behind the scenes causing trouble all along.

Lin Tian quickly took this information and headed to Bai Shishi’s office.

At that moment, Bai Shishi was busy, but upon seeing Lin Tian, she immediately set aside her work and smiled, asking, ”How’s your hand?”

”Hehe, with the medicine you applied personally, of course, it healed quickly.” Lin Tian winked at her.

Bai Shishi chuckled knowingly, then glanced at Lin Tian and playfully said, ”Your mouth’s like it’s smeared with honey, so sweet.”

”You haven’t even kissed me, so how do you know my mouth’s sweet?”

Bai Shishi’s heart was slightly stirred by Lin Tian’s teasing. She gave him an annoyed look and changed the subject, asking, ”Found anything yet?”

Lin Tian put the documents he was holding onto Bai Shishi’s desk and then sat on the sofa, brewing coffee as he said, ”See for yourself.”

”You jerk! Playing coy with me.”

Lin Tian grinned broadly, without responding.

Bai Shishi browsed the documents in her hands, her face growing more solemn with each page, her knuckles cracking.

Betrayal!

Those two words were the core takeaway Bai Shishi gleaned from the document.

Huang Shitou previously betrayed Du Dahai and entered her Xianglong Tea House; she accepted him on her side, causing all this trouble.

And that textile company was now handed over to Bai Yu. Bai Shishi knew her cousin’s temperament too well—promiscuous, indiscreet, lazy, cruel-hearted, disloyal, fearful of the strong...

Thinking of her cousin brought countless derogatory terms to Bai Shishi’s mind, flowing endlessly!

Since childhood, there had been friction between them, though just minor conflict, otherwise a company wouldn’t have been given to her.

But Bai Shishi couldn’t have imagined that her cousin was also a traitor! Taking in Du Dahai’s old team.

Was she trying to confront her?

The document listed names apart from Bai Yu, Zuoniao, Huang Shitou, and included many others from Du Dahai’s old team, numbering over forty people.

And these forty-plus individuals were strategically placed in various departments within Qiansimei, with one even being an executive!

The chilling thought was, this was just part of it.

Bai Shishi felt a headache coming... even without an actual head, she felt the pain. Were there just too many hidden dangers around?

She suddenly felt that shutting down the factory for a month was a very wise decision, giving enough time to screen most people and clear out the threats around her.

”What’s your plan now?” Lin Tian offered a cup of brewed coffee to Bai Shishi.

”I plan to kick these forty-plus people out. As for Bai Yu, I’ve had enough of her!” Bai Shishi spoke calmly, yet Lin Tian could sense her anger, like a volcano on the brink of eruption.

Just then, someone knocked on Bai Shishi’s office door.

”Come in.”

Mrs Li entered hastily, announcing, ”Chairman, there’s an incident; Huang Shitou is dead.”

”What?!”

Lin Tian and Bai Shishi exclaimed simultaneously.

”What happened? How did he die?” Bai Shishi was somewhat panicked; someone dying inside the company could escalate quickly, causing widespread trouble!

Mrs Li shook her head, ”I’m not sure about that either...”

”It’s definitely Bai Yu!” Bai Shishi muttered under her breath.

”Have the police arrived?” Lin Tian asked.

He knew perfectly well the strength in his punch earlier, it absolutely couldn’t have been lethal.

”They discovered it only after the police arrived. They haven’t left yet and sealed off the scene. Mei is downstairs managing the situation,” Mrs Li responded.

Bai Shishi nodded; with Mei Ruyan handling it, at least the company wouldn’t panic.

At this moment, Mrs Li received a call, and after exchanging a few words, she informed Bai Shishi and Lin Tian, ”The police are asking you to come down for questioning and also want the reporters from earlier to come over now.”

For regular people, police typically need to visit for questioning, but for reporters, just a call would have them rushing over!

Bai Shishi was unsettled, pondering for a moment before saying, ”Lin Tian, you stay here; I’ll go down and check.”

Lin Tian shook his head, ”They’re probably targeting me, hiding is useless. Besides, we’re not the sort to be afraid of trouble. Come on, let’s go down together.”

Hearing this from Lin Tian brought Bai Shishi some peace of mind.
