The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 818: Chapter 818: Two Hundred per Bottle

”Dagger?”

Lin Tian was slightly taken aback, then he laughed, ”Of course, there’s no problem.”

Having said that, Lin Tian respectfully handed over the Black Dragon Dagger. The counterpart was a leader of the army, the backbone of the troops, worthy of his respect.

Lin Jingrong held the Black Dragon Dagger in his hand, examined it for a few moments, then lightly flicked it with his finger, emitting clear howling sounds reminiscent of some type of animal, completely discordant with the metallic noise.

”Hmm, it’s a fine blade. I’m a man who loves swords and knives, but this is the first time in my life I’ve seen a blade made from this material.” Lin Jingrong’s gaze lingered unwillingly on the dagger, then suddenly asked: ”If I wanted you to transfer this dagger to me, you would agree, wouldn’t you?”

”Um...”

Before Lin Tian could answer, Lin Jingrong laughed heartily, ”Just joking, just joking. Don’t take it seriously; the perfect match is a treasure sword, a beauty, and a hero. How could I take away someone’s treasure?”

Lin Tian laughed along dryly, thinking the joke was not funny at all. The Black Dragon Dagger had been with him for so long; he was well aware of its power. There was no reason to give it away so easily.

Suddenly, Lin Jingrong rolled up his sleeve, revealing his strong arm, covered with densely packed scars—gun wounds, knife cuts, burns, it was a body riddled with holes.

And this was just one arm; it was already in such a condition, there was no need to mention the rest of his body.

Such a man living intact in the world could only be considered heaven’s favor.

Whoosh...

An unexpected scene unfolded; Lin Jingrong actually used the Black Dragon Dagger to cut a slit on his own left arm.

The wound was three centimeters long, neither deep nor shallow, but bright red blood flowed immediately, surpassing Lin Tian’s previous injury.

Everyone’s pupils shrank slightly, their mouths agape in disbelief.

”Boss, what are you doing?” The first to ask was Qu Rongguang.

Lin Jingrong laughed boldly, ”I wouldn’t be comfortable giving this medicine to other soldiers unless I tried it myself.”

As he spoke, he mimicked what Lin Tian did earlier, scooping out some ointment and applying it to the wound.

The ointment mixed with the blood and eventually solidified in a liquid form on the wound, stopping the bleeding. After a while, a scab formed.

”Hmm, this medicine is quite cooling and has a bit of anesthetic pain-relieving effect, really effective.” Lin Jingrong complimented unreservedly.

Lin Tian’s mouth hung open, not knowing what to say. Deep down, he felt Lin Jingrong was a ’madman’. He had already tried it earlier, and the efficacy was apparent, so why test it again?

In his wretchedness, Lin Tian still felt a bit touched. It was that sentence, ”I wouldn’t be comfortable giving this medicine to other soldiers unless I tried it myself,” that stirred Lin Tian with a sense of reverence.

Such a man truly deserved to be the leader of an army, Lin Tian thought.

”Here, young man, take back your dagger.” After handing the Black Dragon Dagger to Lin Tian, Lin Jingrong added: ”I’ve felt the efficacy of the medicine, it’s quite good; now let’s discuss the pricing.”

Lin Tian placed the Black Dragon Dagger back into the sheath at his waist, smiling: ”Since it’s a collaboration with our national military, the price won’t be high, but it shouldn’t leave us with a loss either; there needs to be some profit. Businessmen, after all, prioritize practicality.”

”Such practicality, I like your directness, just quote me the price.” Lin Jingrong patted Qu Rongguang’s shoulder with a smile and said: ”We have an expert sitting here.”

”Um...”

Had he not mentioned it, it would have been fine. Upon Lin Jingrong’s remark, Qu Rongguang felt uneasy. Though versed in pharmacology and having been a practitioner of mystical medicine for decades, he knew nothing about the true formula of Lin Tian’s ointment or its production process, unable to estimate the price.

Moreover, just for this miraculous effect, it’s only reasonable for it to be expensive.

Of course, Qu Rongguang only murmured these thoughts internally, not voicing them openly.

”Naturally, how could I ignore Commander Qu’s expertise?” Lin Tian smiled at Qu Rongguang.

Qu Rongguang couldn’t catch the hidden meaning behind Lin Tian’s smile, replying only with a nod and a few murmured agreements.

”A bottle of the ointment is priced at two hundred.” Lin Tian said, ”This price was predetermined, including costs, labor, transportation, etc., considered a fair rate.”

”Two hundred for such a large bottle? That’s not very expensive.” Lin Rongjing nodded.

”...” Lin Tian waved his hand, laughing: ”Boss, you’ve misunderstood, I’m referring to a third of your bottle size.”

”A third?” Lin Jingrong looked at the can-sized bottle before him, imagining the third of the volume, involuntarily raising his volume: ”That small, and you’re pricing it at two hundred?”

A third could only fill a small bottle. On the battlefield, with larger wounds, a bottle might not suffice.

Lin Tian seemed to have anticipated Lin Jingrong’s reaction, smiling calmly: ”Boss, two hundred per bottle is truly not expensive. Let’s not mention anything else; the cost of main ingredients like Tianskyroot and millet root are already high. You could inquire Commander Qu.”

”Yes, the price of Tianskyroot and millet root is indeed high. Large volume purchases might even cause shortages.” Qu Rongguang said sincerely.

Lin Tian spread his hands and smiled: ”Boss, you’ve heard; I’m not deceiving you. I’ve calculated the profit, about five to ten yuan per bottle. Also, this ointment could be considered a specialty medicine rather than a routine one, not consuming much on usual days. Hence, it can’t be mass-produced at low margins. Directly launching it to the market would price it at least three to four hundred, and that’s the minimum. With this explanation, you can’t say it’s expensive anymore, can you?”

”Listening to this, it sounds reasonable... Old Qu, what do you think?” Lin Jingrong asked.

”I believe Lin Tian isn’t lying; this medicine’s effect is so good, having slightly higher costs is normal. Our troops can bear this price.” Qu Rongguang expressed his thoughts candidly.

”Hmm.” Lin Jingrong nodded thoughtfully, then said: ”Alright, then the price is settled. Let’s sign the contract directly.”

”Won’t you wait for the test results?” Bai Shishi said, ”They should be out soon.”

Lin Jingrong laughed, waving his hand dismissively, ”No need. I don’t believe you’d dare deceive the military for money.”
