The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 815: Chapter 815: Racing Against Time

”Can I leave now? I promise to keep your secret safe.”

”Alright, I trust you. You can go.” Lin Tian waved his hand.

Upon receiving Lin Tian’s response, Wang Yi was eager to leave and began to walk away without wasting a second.

He had only taken a few steps when suddenly a sharp pain stabbed at his neck, and before he could react, he lost consciousness.

”Take him inside, chain his hands and feet, and deliver meals and water on schedule. Not too much; don’t let him die, but don’t let him eat too much either.”

Lin Tian turned to the two security guards at the door and said.

”Yes!” The two guards responded in unison, then hurried over and carried Wang Yi inside as if he were a dead pig.

These two guards had naturally been trained by Tian Ming, with outstanding qualities. Not just security guards; even as bodyguards, they were fully capable, exuding confidence with every step.

After Wang Yi was taken inside, Lin Tian quickly walked into the building and went back to the top floor by elevator.

He went straight to Bai Shishi’s office door, knocked lightly twice, and only entered after Bai Shishi said, ”Come in.”

As soon as he walked in, Lin Tian saw Bai Shishi and Mei Ruyan huddled together, giggling at something.

Lin Tian walked over and carelessly sat next to Mei Ruyan, asking, ”What are you two talking about?”

”Oh, nothing.” Bai Shishi couldn’t stop smiling, looking at Lin Tian, ”Just some jokes... Hey, what’s up with you? You don’t look too good.”

Lin Tian rolled his eyes, picked up a coffee cup from the table without caring whose it was, drank it down, and then said, ”You two are still having fun? Our situation isn’t looking good.”

”Huh? What’s wrong?” Mei Ruyan curiously asked.

”Someone’s targeting us.”

”Targeting us? Who?” After a second, Bai Shishi seemed to think of something, ”Is it that old guy whose badge you tore up before?”

”Yeah.” Lin Tian nodded.

”Oh, don’t worry about it. Even if he tries something against you, I can still block it for you. I can handle that.” Bai Shishi said somewhat proudly.

Seeing her big sister protecting her little brother attitude, Lin Tian couldn’t help but laugh, ”It’s not just that old guy. I suspect all those people in the meeting room might make a move against us, and even more...”

After that, Lin Tian told Bai Shishi and Mei Ruyan everything he knew.

After learning about this, the two could no longer laugh. Their stunningly beautiful faces were filled with worry, as bitter as bitter gourds.

Although the Bai Family is powerful now, if all the companies and families ostracize them, maliciously compete, it won’t be long before Bai Shishi and the Bai Family collapse.

”Alas, this is actually my fault. If it weren’t for me taking over so much of the Wang Family’s industry, we wouldn’t have so many people watching us.”

Bai Shishi and Mei Ruyan both rolled their eyes. Are you trying to take the blame? You’re clearly just bragging and forcing credit.

”Do you have any ideas now?” Mei Ruyan lightly kicked Lin Tian.

”Yes, we should get the military involved; they want to cooperate with us. This is the perfect timing to use them.”

Lin Tian paused, then continued, ”The collective power of those people is too great; we literally have no idea from which angle they’ll strike. Signing a contract with the military is the safest approach now. With the military backing us, they won’t dare go too far. If we delay any longer, this cooperation might slip out of our hands.”

The two women nodded, agreeing that this method was viable.

Right now, we should pull in as many people as possible.

Even if those families have great power in the military, once the cooperation is settled and publicly announced, no one can go back on it.

Getting the military to backtrack? Few could achieve that, certainly not those families and the Alliance.

”Alright, I’ll contact the military right away.” Bai Shishi stood up but suddenly remembered something. She turned back to Lin Tian and asked, ”We haven’t produced that haemostatic drug. Without proof of efficacy and verification from relevant departments, the military won’t take our product.”

”That’s easy to handle. Ruyan, later you can fetch some herbs, and I’ll make it on-site quickly. As for verification from related departments, that might be tricky; let’s go directly to the testing center and talk with the military, then test it immediately.”

”Hmm, that seems feasible; let’s do that.” Bai Shishi agreed, picked up her phone, and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, dialing a number.

Meanwhile, Mei Ruyan went to fetch medicinal ingredients as instructed by Lin Tian. These ingredients were crucial to the cooperation with the military, so Lin Tian naturally sent the most trusted person to get them.

After a while, Bai Shishi finished her call. She smiled at Lin Tian, ”I’ve discussed it with them. We’re heading directly to the testing center to talk things over. They’ve agreed.”

”Hmm. How long does it take to get to the testing center now?”

”By car, about an hour and a half, assuming there’s no traffic.” Bai Shishi said.

”An hour and a half?” Lin Tian furrowed his brow; right now, every second mattered. An hour and a half could see unknown developments, and if they missed this opportunity, it would be a disaster.

”Let’s go now; any later and it’ll be too late.” Lin Tian swiftly stood up from the sofa, and he and Bai Shishi hurried towards the exit.

Just as they reached the elevator door, Mei Ruyan emerged from the elevator, carrying several bags of medicinal herbs. She shook them at Lin Tian and said, ”I’ve brought everything you need; I was worried you might not have enough, so I brought three sets.”

Lin Tian took the herbs, glanced at them, and laughed, ”You did great; some of these herbs are hard to find, your efficiency is impressive.”

Hearing Lin Tian’s praise, Mei Ruyan smiled briefly before transforming back into the icy beauty she generally appeared to be.

The testing place was called the ’Pharmaceutical Testing Bureau’, which didn’t accept personal business, but a public company like Qiansimei, about to cooperate with the military, naturally had the qualification.

With Bai Shishi’s secretary in tow, Lin Tian drove, keeping the gas pedal pressed firmly, speeding up to the 90 limit, no less. And with no traffic today, after an hour, Lin Tian and the others reached their destination.

”There’s a café next to the testing bureau; let’s go there first and wait for the others.” Bai Shishi suggested.

Lin Tian and Mei Ruyan naturally had no objections; the four of them went straight to the café and found a corner spot to prepare.

Right now, every second was precious to Lin Tian; he had to race against time with the people from various families.
