The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 816: Chapter 816: This Medicine Burns the Eyes

Upon entering the coffee shop, Lin Tian realized that he also owned shares in this store. Naturally, he decided to secure the entire coffee shop.

Currently, Bai Shishi holds shares in multiple businesses, including the Bai Family and Qiansimei. Business is thriving everywhere; not only in this coffee shop, but all the stores on this street have Bai Shishi’s shares.

With no interruptions, Lin Tian focused on developing the hemostatic medicine required by the military.

Since it was for the military, Lin Tian dared not be careless.

The military required the hemostatic medicine to meet certain criteria: effective in stopping bleeding, no side effects, and cost-efficient.

Nothing in the world is perfect; to achieve good results requires rare ingredients, which naturally wouldn’t be cheap. Initially, Lin Tian was worried that Mei Ruyan might struggle to gather them all at once, given that some of the ingredients are rather rare.

The process of making the medicine involves many steps and cannot be completed instantly. Some require soaking, others need charcoal roasting, and there are multiple steps involved.

With the coffee shop providing maximum convenience and the aid of Spiritual Qi, everything was progressing smoothly.

After half an hour, Lin Tian’s forehead was already covered with beads of sweat, but the outcome was promising.

Centered by Lin Tian, his surroundings were a mess, as if it was not a spotless coffee shop but a scavenger’s lair.

On the table, there were two scorched, black cans, containing two lumps of black-brown medicine dregs, which looked quite unappealing, even somewhat disgusting.

Its odor was not something an average person would tolerate. Fishy and stinky, those who don’t know it would only find it utterly repulsive.

”Phew... finally done.” Lin Tian took a deep breath and then directly picked up the two cans that were being roasted on charcoal.

Holding the cans, Lin Tian walked to Bai Shishi’s place. By this time, the military representatives had arrived and were discussing related matters with Bai Shishi.

This time the military sent three people, two middle-aged men in their fifties, and a thirty-year-old young man.

Lin Tian directed his gaze at the two middle-aged men in their fifties; one had bushy brows and big eyes, sitting upright and stern without any expression on the face but exuding natural authority.

Based on Lin Tian’s judgment, this person should be a seasoned warrior from the battlefield.

The other middle-aged man appeared more refined, with delicate brows and eyes, speaking with an orderly tone, likely a civil official.

Seeing Lin Tian approaching, Bai Shishi stood up and said, ”Lin Tian, let me introduce you.”

As Bai Shishi finished speaking, the refined middle-aged man leisurely stood up, smiled, and said, ”Let me introduce myself instead.”

He walked over to Lin Tian, extended his hand, and said, ”Hello, I am the overseer of the Tang City Practice Area, you can call me Officer Qu.”

Lin Tian was secretly surprised; the military rank of a medical officer is assigned as a civil position. It’s quite an important position.

But... how come he’s so courteous despite my obvious tardiness? There’s something off?

Lin Tian placed the two cans on the table, smiled, and said, ”Officer Qu, sorry, my hands are too dirty, better not shake hands.”

Officer Qu hesitated for a moment, then laughed, ”No problem, I don’t mind a bit of dirt.”

While speaking, Officer Qu shook Lin Tian’s hand and said, ”I am an old acquaintance of your teacher Zhao Xuefeng, graduated from the same school, and we were bunk mates. I’ve heard of your reputation recently, it’s not easy to earn high praise from Old Zhao.”

Lin Tian realized, so it’s a colleague and a friend of my teacher, no wonder he’s so amicable.

The two shook hands briefly before letting go.

Lin Tian smiled and said, ”Sorry for being late, I was making medicine.”

”No problem, let me introduce this leader.” Officer Qu pointed to another middle-aged man sitting there and said, ”This is the officer of our Tang City Practice Area, sharing the same surname as you, Lin.”

”Officer?” Lin Tian gasped, that’s quite a big name.

Even though Lin Tian lacks much knowledge about the troops, he knows how significant the officer of Tang City Practice Area is; it’s the highest commander of the Northern Army.

”Young man, hello, I’ve heard about Qiansimei, my family has used your products and found them effective. I’ve read some of your profiles, you’re young and promising. I’m quite interested in this hemostatic medicine, hope it doesn’t disappoint.”

Lin Jingrong’s voice was slightly hoarse but amicable. He pointed to the opposite chair and said, ”Let’s sit down and talk.”

”Alright, Officer.” Lin Tian responded and then sat down beside Bai Shishi.

”Let’s talk directly.” Lin Jingrong looked at the two burnt cans placed in the middle of the table and asked, ”Is this the hemostatic medicine you mentioned?”

Actually, everyone had noticed those two cans long before. Obviously, such a strong smell is hard to ignore.

Indeed, the smell was strong. Fishy and stinky, if Lin Tian hadn’t brought it up, it would have been disgusting.

”Yes, made purely from herbal ingredients. The time was rather short, so no fragrance was added, hence the strong smell.”

After speaking, Lin Tian turned to Mrs Li, Bai Shishi’s secretary, and said, ”Li, take it to the pharmaceutical testing bureau across the street, the sooner the better.”

”Understood!” Mrs Li replied, went to the counter for an empty coffee cup and spoon, scooped some ointment, and left.

Lin Jingrong rested his hands on the table, fingers interlocked, and said, ”It’s alright, soldiers endure all kinds of hardships, a bit of stink is bearable. What’s the name of the medicine?”

”Celestial Dome Hemostatic Ointment.” Lin Tian replied.

”Does it contain Celestial Dome?” Qu Rongguang asked, then pulled a box of ointment closer to himself, lowered his head, and smelled it.

At such close distance, the odor was even stronger.

The pungent smell burst right into Qu Rongguang’s nose, almost suffocating him, even causing tears to well up in his eyes.

”Old Qu, how is it?” Lin Jingrong moved closer to ask.

”This medicine, stings... stings the eyes.”

”...”

”I can’t comment on its effectiveness, but it’s certain there’s Celestial Dome in it, and it seems there’s millet root, the roasting gives it this smell.”

Qu Rongguang distanced the ointment from his nose while speaking, still gazing at it closely, with tears trickling uncontrollably.

”You know I don’t understand pharmacology, can’t you just explain in plain terms?” Lin Jingrong asked, his voice muffled.
