The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 600: Chapter 600: Mei Ruyan’s Past

The families of ancient martial arts not only practice ancient martial arts, but they also follow the rules and habits passed down by their ancestors.

Therefore, the habits of favoring males over females and polygamy have been preserved.

However, Miss Mei was still not accepted by the Xu family.

Because it is difficult to enter the door of the Ancient Martial the Xu Family!

The requirements for the heir disciples of the Ancient Martial the Xu Family to choose a spouse are also strict. First: must be a master of ancient martial arts. Second: must be attractive (if not attractive, then how can the children practice Charming Skill?) Third: must be educated and well-mannered. Fourth...

In short, there are a lot of formalities. In the eyes of the Xu family, compared to Xu Shaohui’s first wife, Miss Mei was disqualified in every aspect except her looks.

So, Miss Mei endured all sorts of contemptuous remarks in the Ancient Martial the Xu Family.

On the night she gave birth to Mei Ruyan, Miss Mei could no longer withstand such an oppressive life.

Weak-bodied Miss Mei left on a night when the snow sealed the mountains, holding her child.

Her character remained as proud as a plum blossom.

Perhaps it is most apt to describe her with Lu You’s poem from ”Bu Suan Zi: Ode to the Plum Blossom.”

Falling to mud and grinding to dust, only its fragrance remains unchanged!

Miss Mei took her daughter all the way to the capital of the motherland—Kanyue City.

Here, she began a normal life. She registered her daughter with the Kanyue City household, following her own surname, calling her Mei Ruyan.

What Miss Mei didn’t expect was that her daughter’s character was even more aloof than her own. She was beautiful, with great academic performance, and even boys couldn’t defeat her in fights. Plus, with her aloof demeanor, she maintained the posture of a leader.

Miss Mei did not think anything was wrong with this; her daughter had not turned bad but had grown stronger. She wasn’t like Miss Mei, who had been bullied by others.

This is very good!

A few years later, the Xu family finally found the mother and daughter. Xu Shaohui wanted to bring them back, but could Miss Mei’s character allow her to return?

Impossible!

So in the end, the situation became very tense. She felt that Xu Shaohui had changed, becoming incomprehensible and selfish.

Miss Mei, who didn’t smile all day, fell ill one day, not a physical illness but an emotional one.

Miss Mei suffered from depression, and only when she saw her daughter did she genuinely smile. But even so, she died of depression within a few years.

It was probably from that time, or perhaps even earlier, that Mei Ruyan thoroughly resented the Xu family.

Even though the Xu family gave her mother a grand funeral, what was the use once people were dead?

Xu Shaohui also wanted to take his younger daughter back, but not only did he fail, it also led to significant misunderstandings, and every meeting ended in heated arguments.

Even so, she was his own flesh and blood; how could Xu Shaohui possibly ignore her?

So regardless of food, clothing, housing, and transportation, Xu Shaohui gave Mei Ruyan a large sum of money.

Mei Ruyan accepted this gladly.

Even at a young age, she understood, this was compensation. No matter how much money, it was still only something external.

In the entire Xu family, the only people who were kind to her were her father and her older sister.

The other members of the Xu family, Mei Ruyan had neither seen nor needed to see.

After entering high school, without anyone’s guidance, Mei Ruyan started mingling with society. Her gambling skills were top-notch, with a large group of brothers following her lead.

Later, she met Bai Shishi and officially joined Xianglong Tea House.

After hearing this absurd story, Lin Tian couldn’t help but sigh.

He never expected that Mei Ruyan’s cold personality was derived from such a source, along with such a tragic past.

Now Lin Tian understood why Mei Ruyan had such strong prejudices against the Xu family and her father because those people were the true culprits who killed her mother.

How could she not hate them?

”Ruyan is a cold and quiet girl. These things, she would never speak of. Even now, Bai Shishi probably doesn’t know about her past.” Saying this, Miaoqiu sighed softly.

”If I cure your father’s illness, will she hold it against me?”

”I don’t think she will. I’ve never seen her treat a man this way. In her heart, you’re special. Besides, he is her father; even if she doesn’t say it, she will care to some extent. I’m her sister, I understand her.” Miaoqiu said with certainty.

”So you came here today to persuade her to go back and see your father?” Lin Tian asked.

”No, she’s been busy lately. I’m here to help out. Taking this opportunity, I hope she will go see our father.”

”Why is your father eager to see her?”

”Perhaps he was too unrestrained when he was young. Now in middle age, his health isn’t well. He wants to see his daughter before he passes away.” Miaoqiu sighed again, and when she spoke of her father, her eyes showed deep concern.

”Is your father’s illness severe?”

”If it weren’t serious, how could I go to the Ancient Martial Family auction to steal medicine? If he doesn’t receive treatment, he might not live to see next spring.”

Miaoqiu bowed her head and softly wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes.

Lin Tian knew this topic couldn’t continue. He shifted the conversation and asked, ”By the way, why did you end up as a manager at the Celestial Dragon Hotel?”

Wiping away her tears, Miaoqiu took a long breath of cool air to steady her emotions. She asked back, ”The salary for a manager at the Celestial Dragon Hotel is very high. Why shouldn’t I do it? Besides, if I don’t do this, what should I do?”

”Uh... Weren’t you supposed to continue training?”

Miaoqiu smiled and shook her head, ”In our family, there’s no need to train the Charming Skill for too long. If you train it too deeply, you really might turn into a seductress, and that’s not a good thing.”

”...” Lin Tian was speechless. Was that really a reason?

”Actually, we also train in other martial arts, but with Charming Skill coming first, other martial arts aren’t trained as thoroughly. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have lost so badly at the Liou Family villa that day.”

After saying this, Miaoqiu glanced lightly at Lin Tian with a charm that was irresistible.

Lin Tian steadied himself, almost falling for it again. This woman was a walking temptation for men in her every move.

”Besides the high salary, there are two other important reasons for being a manager at the Celestial Dragon Hotel. First, it’s a critical point in our Xu family information network. Second, I can help Ruyan in various ways. If I hadn’t been secretly protecting her, she wouldn’t have survived on her own in society.”

”Later, when she met Bai Shishi, I was the one secretly connecting them. All of this, my mom asked me to do for her. My mom is a good woman, isn’t she?”

Lin Tian nodded, unable to refute. How can you describe a woman who takes care of the child her husband had with another woman, if not with goodness from the heart?
