The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 596: Chapter 596: For the Nation and the People

Looking at the teacher’s uncertain expression, Lin Tian stood beside Zhao Qingtang and whispered, ”Is his expression angry? Or just angry?”

”Probably angry...”

What kind of expression does Zhao Xuefeng have now?

His upper teeth tightly biting his lower teeth, his face exceptionally stern, and his two thick and bushy eyebrows almost squeezed together.

His eyes slightly squinted, glaring at the computer screen, as if about to smash it at any moment.

The article hasn’t been fully revised yet, but Zhao Xuefeng is reading it with great interest.

One time, two times, a total of five times browsing.

While reading, Zhao Xuefeng kept muttering something.

”Teacher... what’s wrong?” Lin Tian asked softly.

”Did you write this article?” Zhao Xuefeng looked at Lin Tian with a blank expression.

”Qingtang wrote it, I just helped with some revisions.”

Zhao Qingtang was speechless, I’m not taking the blame for this, what’s the difference between what you wrote?

”Teacher, is there a problem?”

”Why didn’t you write this earlier!” Zhao Xuefeng said, glaring with tiger-like eyes, ”If you had written it earlier, my grandchild and I wouldn’t have needed to search ancient texts for materials every day.”

”Grandpa...what I wrote before wasn’t bad either, right?” Zhao Qingtang was a bit unconvinced.

”Hmm, not bad.” Zhao Xuefeng nodded twice, entirely perfunctory.

”Humph!” Zhao Qingtang snorted very discontentedly, Grandpa is too biased!

”Qingtang, you really shouldn’t be unconvinced. Let Lin Tian revise this article.” Zhao Xuefeng lovingly patted his granddaughter’s head.

”Grandpa, I’m not a kid anymore, why are you still patting my head?” Zhao Qingtang stepped back and glanced at Lin Tian, shaking her head, ”No, if Lin Tian revises this alone, reading it at the medical summit, it will turn into a brawl.”

As Zhao Xuefeng thought of Lin Tian’s personality, he quickly changed his tone, ”In that case, both of you revise it together...”

After revising the article comes a sumptuous feast!

Earth-pot chicken, hollow-core vegetables, cucumber salad, fried chives. In the middle is a bowl of kelp rib soup.

Full of color, fragrance, and taste, just looking at it makes one drool.

The four seated around the table, just like last time, nobody served rice, each had a bowl and pair of chopsticks with a cup of wine.

”Let’s make it clear! This time everyone can drink at most two cups. No more!” Zhao Qingtang stood up, asserting firmly.

Recalling last time when Lin Tian came to her house for dinner, all three got drunk, she felt a surge of anger.

The worst was when her backside got slapped by this rascal!

Could she not be angry?

”We promise to drink less for you. Also, when speaking, why stand up? You lack the demeanor of a lady, what does it look like?” Zhao Xuefeng complained.

Only then did Zhao Qingtang sit down, albeit still saying, ”Grandpa, Grandma. You guys are quite old, yet compete in drinking with youngsters, is it childish?”

”Childish?” Xu Wan directed her gaze at Zhao Xuefeng.

”Not childish.”

Zhao Qingtang: ”...”

Xu Wan continued, ”Don’t underestimate Lin Tian, though young, he can’t drink as much as the two of us. Lin Tian, when should we compete again? Last time, I didn’t drink enough!”

”...”

After the meal, Xu Wan and Zhao Qingtang started washing the dishes.

Lin Tian sat on the couch with Zhao Xuefeng.

A tea lover, Zhao Xuefeng didn’t brew tea this time, as drinking tea after alcohol isn’t good for the liver.

Both drank plain water and added a hangover remedy.

”Lin Tian, I read your article just now, it’s quite aggressive. It feels invigorating, like raising one’s eyebrows with pride. But then I thought, would it be inappropriate?”

Lin Tian sipped some water, then said, ”I don’t think there’s anything excessive. You mentioned a while ago, those Western doctors have been overly aggressive towards us over the years. If we’re not forceful, how can we counteract?”

Zhao Xuefeng thoughtfully nodded, ”You have a point. How about... you review my speech draft as well?”

Lin Tian put down the teacup, ”Wasn’t it agreed I’d write a draft for you to deliver?”

Laughing, Zhao Xuefeng waved it off, ”Let’s forget that. The medical summit is for everyone to exchange medical insights. If you write the draft for me and I deliver it, and others ask specific questions, I’ll be speechless!”

”In this world of cause and effect, it’s best not to cut corners. Now, just asking you to review my speech draft shouldn’t be a problem.” Zhao Xuefeng said.

”Alright then.” Lin Tian nodded.

”I’ll fetch it now.”

Zhao Xuefeng got up and went to the study, soon came back hugging a laptop.

At this point, Xu Wan and Zhao Qingtang had finished washing dishes and were seated on the couch.

The four sat together, Lin Tian in the middle, with Zhao Qingtang on his left and Zhao Xuefeng along with Xu Wan on his right.

Looking at the article before him, titled ”Changes Needed in the Current State of Traditional Medicine,” it was conventional, matched well with his status as an expert in traditional medicine.

The contents were just like the title, conventional, pointing out various ailments in the current traditional medicine.

To change these, it likely won’t be an overnight task.

So Lin Tian suggested Zhao Xuefeng change the topic; this piece should be published in journals.

As for the topic exchange, the three were in heated discussion.

Sitting next to Zhao Xuefeng, Xu Wan watched their lively debate, feeling joy from the bustling noise, especially when the two kids quarreled after few words, which amused her greatly.

Finally, the topic was settled. Zhao Xuefeng insisted on his ”Changes Needed in the Current State of Traditional Medicine,” saying, ”These days, tossing and turning in bed, losing sleep. I’ve been pondering a question.”

”Is competing with Western medicine that crucial? Only now realizing, competition isn’t the most important. The most important is preserving our ancestral legacy!”

”How should it be preserved? First, we must urge all traditional medicine practitioners to change all current bad habits and practices; otherwise, traditional medicine will ruin itself in our hands one day!”

Such words left Lin Tian and Zhao Qingtang in awe, surrendered by his sacrifice for traditional medicine.

A true hero serves the country and its people.

Perhaps it refers to someone like Zhao Xuefeng?

Every time Zhao Xuefeng’s profound discussions leave a deep impression on Lin Tian. This is why Lin Tian, though theoretically stronger, still respectfully calls him teacher.

No wonder, he’s known as ’Sir’.
