The Invincible Strongest Student

Chapter 599: Chapter 599: Lone Plum Blossom in the Bitter Cold

Lin Tian carefully recalled, and it seemed that he really hadn’t showcased his medical skills in front of Mei Ruyan, so it’s no wonder she didn’t believe it. After all, who would when he was so young?

Mei Ruyan scrutinized Lin Tian from head to toe, as if she was getting to know him all over again. ”You just went to Kanyue City Medical University for a short while, and someone is already calling you a miracle doctor? I must say, that person’s head must be out of order!”

Mei Ruyan’s words were very aggressive, and it was obvious she was making an indirect criticism aimed at Miaoqiu.

Miaoqiu didn’t mind her younger sister’s sarcastic remarks at all. Instead, she smiled and said, ”Is it my head that’s out of order, or are you like a frog in a well? You’d better think it through before you speak. Lin Tian’s medical skills are even better than Zhao Xuefeng’s.”

Mei Ruyan lowered her crossed legs, furrowing her brow in anger, on the verge of exploding. She very much disliked it when this sister talked back to her.

Seeing that the two were about to start arguing again, Lin Tian quickly stood up to stop them: ”Ladies, I still haven’t figured out what exactly is going on, could someone please tell me?”

Miaoqiu glanced at him before she started explaining...

It was only after this explanation that Lin Tian learned that their father was seriously ill. The old man wanted to see Mei Ruyan one last time, but she absolutely refused to go back.

”Why should I go back? Just to argue with him? He isn’t dead yet, but if I argue with him, he’d surely drop dead immediately,” Mei Ruyan said stubbornly.

Those who didn’t know might think that Mei Ruyan was referring to an enemy, when in fact she was talking about her father.

”Was that what you two were arguing about?”

”Isn’t that enough?”

”I didn’t mean it like that.” Lin Tian scooted closer to Mei Ruyan and said softly, ”I think you should go see him.”

”Lin Tian, I know you say this for my own good, but when you don’t know the full story, it’s best not to meddle,” Mei Ruyan replied coldly, as if it was her first time meeting Lin Tian. Her tone was as icy as an ice block.

”So what exactly is the story?” Lin Tian pressed on.

”Since when did you become so nosy?” Mei Ruyan lightly shook her head, ”It wouldn’t matter even if you knew. Since this vixen is calling you a miracle doctor and wants you to treat that man, go ahead. But don’t regret it afterwards.”

”Regret what?”

”Our family—no, her family has deep waters, it’s best not to get involved,” Mei Ruyan said sternly.

In Mei Ruyan’s eyes, Lin Tian was just an ordinary person with slightly better skills; how could he possibly compare to those from ancient martial arts families?

”If you cure him, there will be lots of benefits. But if you don’t, with their methods, you might find yourself in mortal danger,” Mei Ruyan said with utmost seriousness.

”Hey! Aren’t you exaggerating? Is our Xu Family that ruthless?” Miaoqiu frowned, feeling that her sister had deeply misunderstood their family.

”Yes!”

”...”

”You two can’t seem to convince each other,” Lin Tian said, looking back and forth between Mei Ruyan and Miaoqiu.

Not only was their temperament different, their appearances were as well—one icy, the other enchanting. It was hard to believe they were sisters.

”That’s right.” Mei Ruyan suddenly stood up, making a very significant decision: ”Not only am I not going, but Lin Tian, you are also not allowed to go!”

”Is it just because of the danger you mentioned?”

”Isn’t that enough? Let me tell you, don’t think you’re so tough. Even if you met them, you wouldn’t stand a chance. You’ve seen martial arts movies, right? Know about Qi Gong, right? Do you think you can take them on?”

She pointed at Miaoqiu, ”This woman may look gentle and weak, but she’s actually deadly. You wouldn’t even be able to defeat her, let alone her family.”

Lin Tian and Miaoqiu exchanged silent glances. In Mei Ruyan’s eyes, Lin Tian seemed pathetically weak.

This wasn’t because Lin Tian usually appeared incapable, it was because those from ancient martial arts families were just too formidable.

”Mei Ruyan, what makes you so sure our family would harm Lin Tian? You keep calling me a vixen, but I think you’re the one who’s bewitched!”

”That’s because you bewitched me!”

Ultimately, the two women argued for quite a while without coming to any conclusion.

”Lin Tian! If you trust this woman, one day, you’ll be devoured completely, not even leaving a bone!”

With these words, Mei Ruyan stormed out angrily.

The former Mei Ruyan, though cold, had never been so enraged as today, indicating that this time, a sensitive nerve had truly been struck.

After Mei Ruyan left, Lin Tian looked at Miaoqiu and asked, ”Why does Ruyan hate your family so much?”

”She said you don’t need to know this,” Miaoqiu lightly swayed her head, unwilling to say more.

”I’ve already been dragged into the mess with your family, and you’re still keeping things from me. Do you think I’ll help you?”

With that, Lin Tian stood up to leave.

Miaoqiu wouldn’t let him go, quickly standing up and pulling his arm, pouting her rosy lips, ”Okay, I’ll tell you!”

”Hiss~” Lin Tian gasped, his body shivering, as this vixen never missed a chance to flirt!

Sitting back on the sofa, Miaoqiu began to narrate.

Actually, Mei Ruyan’s past was quite dramatic.

More than twenty years ago, Miaoqiu’s father, Xu Shaohui, got married due to an arranged marriage from his childhood, and his wife was Miaoqiu’s mother, a beautiful woman.

However, Xu Shaohui wasn’t satisfied, feeling that marrying so early was wasting his youth, so he planned to sneak away!

Xu Shaohui took a train to the South City Water Village.

As a member of the Ancient Martial Xu Family, the skill he had down pat was charming others.

So, Xu Shaohui’s skills in wooing women were top-notch. In his eyes, there wasn’t a woman he couldn’t win over!

How does that saying on the internet go? As long as you swing the hoe well, no corner is unreachable!

Amidst the multitude, Xu Shaohui was stunned when he met a woman of unsurpassed beauty, who turned out to be Mei Ruyan’s mother, Miss Mei.

Like her name suggests, she was a blooming plum blossom, embodying the sole aloofness of ”Flourishing alone in the cold.” She disdained competing with mundane blossoms for fragrance and glamor.

Instead, she chose to bloom in the cold winds.

The plum must concede three parts of white to the snow, while the snow loses one measure of fragrance to the plum.

It was this aloofness that deeply attracted Xu Shaohui. He utilized the Xu Family’s Heart Method to its full potential in pursuing this plum blossom-like woman.

Of course, Xu Shaohui eventually succeeded, but he was also deeply captivated.

It wasn’t long from meeting to loving each other before Ah Mei became pregnant.

Xu Shaohui wanted to give her a rightful status, so he brought Miss Mei back to the Ancient Martial Xu Family.

Upon returning to the Xu Family, they discovered that Xu Shaohui’s previous wife was also pregnant and had even given birth to a daughter.

Suddenly, Miss Mei’s situation became difficult, she hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.
