Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Battle of Geniuses

Having completely unleashed his power, Yue Xiuchuan was surrounded by a surging, frigid Elemental Power. It felt as if getting too close would instantly freeze you solid. Only now was Yue Xiuchuan displaying the true strength of one of Yunlu County’s Four Great Geniuses.

”Yue Xiuchuan is actually going all out...” Chen Dalong remarked.

”You think Lin Shan is weak? I’d bet he still hasn’t revealed his true strength,” Wu Ze replied calmly upon hearing Chen Dalong’s words.

Having fought with Lin Yun before, Wu Ze had always suspected he was holding back. After watching the fight between Lin Yun and Yue Xiuchuan just now, Wu Ze was certain that Lin Yun had definitely reserved some of his strength.

Sure enough, just after Yue Xiuchuan unleashed his full power, the Elemental Power around Lin Yun also began to surge violently. The already potent fluctuations of his Elemental Power more than doubled in an instant.

’So he wasn’t using his full strength either!’

’Now things are getting interesting! We can finally witness the true Combat Power of the Four Great Geniuses!’

Amid their shock, the crowd was also thrilled. To witness the true Combat Power of the Four Great Geniuses firsthand was a dream for many; it represented the absolute pinnacle of power for Yunlu County’s younger generation.

His Elemental Power raged as Lin Yun pushed the War God Technique to its absolute limit. At the same time, a faint golden Elemental Power began to swirl around him.

Even though he was going all out, Lin Yun didn’t dare reveal his Battle Intent. Countless people in Mysterious City had seen him use it before, and revealing it now could very well expose his true identity.

”Brat, go to hell!” Seeing that Lin Yun had also been hiding his strength, Yue Xiuchuan grew even more furious. Both his fists were encased in solid ice as he unleashed his Frost Fist without holding anything back.

”We’ll see who’s the one dying,” Lin Yun retorted, showing no weakness. He executed the Black Steel Tyrant Fist with both hands, its dense, tyrannical aura clashing evenly with Yue Xiuchuan’s chilling presence.

The two men fought like true Warriors, their fists constantly flying. With every impact, the entire Yunlu Tower trembled.

As the great battle raged on the third floor, the diners on the first and second floors stared in shock toward the third-floor entrance.

A Martial Artist at the Second Layer of the Qi Sea Realm said to his companion in shock, ”Such immense Combat Power... Can it be that the Four Great Geniuses have started to fight?”

”It has to be. Who else could possess such a powerful aura? What a shame we can’t witness the match between the Four Great Geniuses firsthand.”

Many Qi Sea Realm experts felt inferior in the face of the aura drifting down from the third floor. One had to remember, the Martial Artists upstairs were all in the Opening Realm. Such was the gap between geniuses and ordinary people.

”ARGH! I told you to die!” Unable to completely crush Lin Yun and only holding a slight advantage, Yue Xiuchuan found the situation unacceptable.

However, if he knew that Lin Yun was so wary that he didn’t even dare to use his Battle Intent, Yue Xiuchuan would probably have coughed up blood from sheer rage.

”Hmph. Yue Xiuchuan, it seems you’re pathetic at everything but kissing ass. If we were in the same Realm, killing you would be as easy as butchering a dog,” Lin Yun jeered.

Hearing Lin Yun’s taunt, Yue Xiuchuan was pushed to the absolute limit of his rage and lunged at Lin Yun in a mad frenzy.

Seeing this, a smile touched the corner of Lin Yun’s lips. ’He fell for it.’ Yue Xiuchuan was undeniably strong. Lin Yun’s taunt was solely meant to enrage him, to make him neglect his defense and create an opening.

’What an idiot. He can’t even see such an obvious taunt,’ Tang Wushuang cursed inwardly from the seat of honor. ’Yue Xiuchuan has walked right into Lin Yun’s trap.’

Facing Yue Xiuchuan’s reckless attacks, Lin Yun alternated between dodging and counterattacking. With his Inch Step technique, his movements were incredibly nimble, allowing him to narrowly evade Yue Xiuchuan’s attacks at the most critical moments.

”ARGH! I’LL KILL YOU...” At this point, Yue Xiuchuan’s true colors were showing; he had become completely unhinged.

As another fist flew toward him, a sharp glint flashed in Lin Yun’s eyes. ’A perfect chance!’ Instead of dodging, he brought his left arm up to his chest to block the blow. Simultaneously, his right fist shot out and struck Yue Xiuchuan squarely in the chest.

Though his entire left arm screamed in pain from the blow, Lin Yun was in much better shape than his opponent.

Caught completely off guard, Yue Xiuchuan was sent flying back more than ten meters by Lin Yun’s punch, spitting several mouthfuls of blood in mid-air.

”Just as I thought. He was hiding his strength back then,” Wu Ze said, his expression grave as he watched the scene unfold. The power Lin Yun had just displayed shocked him to the core.

”Haha! A beautiful blow! Yue Xiuchuan, you’ve really made a fool of yourself this time!” Chen Dalong laughed without any restraint.

’What a useless piece of trash,’ Tang Wushuang fumed internally, utterly disappointed in Yue Xiuchuan. ’This is just perfect. Not only did he fail to humiliate the man, he turned himself into a stepping stone instead.’

The crowd was stunned by the outcome. The injured Yue Xiuchuan coughed up another mouthful of blood and fainted. Today had truly been a nightmare for him.

Having failed to humiliate Lin Yun twice, Tang Wushuang now strode over to his side and said with a smile, ”Brother Lin Shan, you’ve truly opened my eyes. With such Combat Power, you are more than worthy of the title of a genius of Yunlu County.”

Looking at Tang Wushuang, Lin Yun was inwardly rendered speechless by his shamelessness. He had never in his life witnessed such a staggering level of hypocrisy.

”Let’s hope Young Master Tang doesn’t hold a grudge,” Lin Yun replied faintly before silently returning to his seat.

Watching Lin Yun’s retreating back, Tang Wushuang’s expression shifted again and again. He desperately wanted to strike out and kill Lin Yun right then and there, but without absolute confidence in his success, he chose to restrain himself. It was clear that this Tang Wushuang was not only a hypocrite, but also possessed a terrifying depth of cunning and self-control.

By defeating Yue Xiuchuan, Lin Yun had instantly elevated himself to be on equal footing with the Four Great Geniuses. The crowd flocked to him, offering toasts and trying to curry favor.

A genius like him was guaranteed to be heavily cultivated upon entering Yanhuang Academy.

Even though everyone present was a young master of extraordinary status in Yunlu County, that status would be useless within Yanhuang Academy. There, only strength and talent mattered.

Therefore, getting on the good side of a genius like Lin Yun now would be a great help to them during their time at the Academy.

After a full hour of being showered with flattery, the gathering finally came to a close. As they were leaving, Tang Wushuang politely saw Lin Yun, Lu Bingning, and Qin Feng to the door.

However, Lin Yun’s keen perception still detected Tang Wushuang’s faint, almost imperceptible killing intent. It was clear he now wanted him dead.

’What a narrow-minded man,’ he sighed internally. But he wasn’t the least bit afraid. Even if Tang Wushuang was the Young Prince and the number one expert of Yunlu County’s younger generation, Lin Yun would make him pay a steep price if he dared to make a move.
