Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Pulling the Tiger’s Skin

The next day, Lin Yun handed the fabricated Thunder God Technique to Ye Yunlong. Taking the manual, Ye Yunlong was very cautious, flipping through it several times. The eventual look of shock on his face told Lin Yun that he had taken the bait.

’It’s a joke.’ The two Unparalleled Techniques, the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique, were top-tier even in the Divine Realm and the Demon Realm. How could a mere Primordial Ocean Realm expert from the Celestial Spirit Continent possibly see through them?

”Good, good, good! Lin Yun, rest assured. As long as we are within Mysterious City, I, Ye Yunlong, will absolutely guarantee your safety.” He said ”good” three times in a row, showing just how excited he was.

”Then I must thank Lord Ye,” Lin Yun replied, his expression unchanging.

Afterward, Ye Yunlong spoke a few more pleasant words to Lin Yun before leaving in a rush. He was probably eager to start cultivating the Thunder God Technique.

Watching Ye Yunlong’s retreating figure, Lin Yun sneered inwardly. ’Ye Yunlong, just you wait until your cultivation goes haywire.’

With Ye Yunlong’s protection, his safety should be guaranteed for the time being. Lin Yun just had to wait until he broke through to the Fifth Layer of the Opening Realm, and then he would leave. At that time, he would change his identity and slip into the academy without anyone noticing.

The reason Lin Yun had to deceive Ye Yunlong was also due to his need for resources. The Yanhuang Academy enrollment was less than a year away, and during this time, Lin Yun had to break through to the Fifth Layer of the Opening Realm.

This was because Yanhuang Academy’s recruitment requirements were reaching the Fifth Layer of the Opening Realm and being no older than twenty.

Lin Yun was eighteen this year, so his age was suitable, but his cultivation was a bit lacking.

He could finally relax a little. Strolling back to his room, Lin Yun saw Imprisoned Dragon waiting for him at the doorway.

Seeing Lin Yun approach, Imprisoned Dragon asked, ”Did you really give him the inheritance?”

Lin Yun just smiled slightly without answering. The matter was too important; he didn’t plan on telling anyone. If word got back to Ye Yunlong that the inheritance was a fake, he would be in deep trouble.

Since Lin Yun didn’t say anything, Imprisoned Dragon didn’t press him. The two chatted for a while before Lin Yun suggested, ”How about we go for a walk? I’ve been cooped up for days; my body’s getting rusty.”

Hearing this, Imprisoned Dragon didn’t object. After all, in Ye Yunlong’s eyes, Lin Yun was a treasure, and Ye Yunlong would definitely not let anything happen to him.

The two strolled confidently out of the Death Row Shelter. This was the first time Lin Yun had gone out in days.

However, just as Lin Yun and Imprisoned Dragon walked out of the Death Row Shelter, several Opening Realm Martial Artists hidden in the shadows quickly sent the news back to the Iron Blood Gang. In an instant, both major powers learned of Lin Yun’s whereabouts.

”We’re being followed.” Walking down the street, Lin Yun appeared very relaxed, but Imprisoned Dragon beside him still wore his usual icy expression.

”Don’t worry. This is a good chance to see if Lord Ye is truly determined to protect me.” Lin Yun just smiled faintly at Imprisoned Dragon’s reminder.

Lin Yun wandered aimlessly, making no attempt to hide. On the contrary, he swaggered down the street, as if afraid people wouldn’t know he was Lin Yun.

Sure enough, after just two streets, Lin Yun was cornered by members of the two major powers. Iron Blood and the Blood Refining Ancestor were both present, along with their respective disciples.

”Lin Yun, are you an idiot? You could have stayed safe in the Death Row Shelter, but you actually dared to come out.” The Blood Refining Young Master sneered at Lin Yun.

Before Lin Yun could even speak, Imprisoned Dragon stepped forward, his cold voice ringing out. ”Blood Refining, do you think you have the right to speak here?”

As one of the three great young masters of Mysterious City, Imprisoned Dragon naturally had no fear of Blood Refining. Hearing Imprisoned Dragon’s words, the Blood Refining Young Master’s face darkened. If his master wasn’t standing right beside him, he would have likely attacked already.

”Heh heh, little one, you have no right to speak here either.” The Blood Refining Ancestor’s hoarse voice dripped with coldness. Facing the Blood Refining Ancestor, Imprisoned Dragon’s entire body felt as if it had frozen, no longer under his control.

’To be rendered immobile by a single sentence... A Primordial Ocean Realm expert really is on another level.’

Even while being stared down by the Blood Refining Ancestor, Lin Yun, who hadn’t said a word from the beginning, still appeared completely at ease. It wasn’t that he had the ability to fight them, but that he was certain Ye Yunlong would come.

”Little one, come back with me.” With no more wasted words, the Blood Refining Ancestor reached out with his palm toward Lin Yun. A powerful suction force instantly erupted, pulling Lin Yun’s body toward him.

”Blood Refining Ancestor, you dare touch someone from my Death Row Shelter?” Just then, an angry roar echoed from the sky as a white-robed Ye Yunlong descended.

Blocked by Ye Yunlong, the Blood Refining Ancestor and Iron Blood each took a step forward, their gazes turning hostile. This was the second time Ye Yunlong had disrespected them.

”Ye Yunlong, do you really think you run Mysterious City? We let it slide last time at your doorstep, and now you’re going to stop us again?” Iron Blood said furiously.

Ignoring Iron Blood, Ye Yunlong first glanced at Lin Yun, signaling for him to relax. Only then did he turn his gaze to Iron Blood and the Blood Refining Ancestor. ”You cannot touch Lin Yun.”

This simple sentence caused Iron Blood and the Blood Refining Ancestor to erupt in fury. ”Ye Yunlong, are you dead set on opposing us? Do you think we can’t do anything to you just because you have the Death Row Shelter backing you?”

As the two roared in anger, Ye Yunlong remained completely calm and said nonchalantly, ”Lin Yun is already a member of my Death Row Shelter. This has been acknowledged by headquarters.”

At these words, the expressions of both Iron Blood and the Blood Refining Ancestor changed. The Death Row Shelter had acknowledged Lin Yun’s status, and it was acknowledged by headquarters itself.

If this was true, then Lin Yun was under the protection of the entire Death Row Shelter. Forget the two of them; even Yanhuang Academy and the Wind Forest Sect would have to think twice.

”Ye Yunlong, don’t try to bluff us. Why would the Death Row Shelter care about an inheritance from the Thunder God Hall? This is just your side of the story. Today, you either hand over Lin Yun, or you fight me.” After hesitating, Iron Blood finally spoke up. This wasn’t just about Lin Yun; it was also about his own pride.

If he let Ye Yunlong scare him off with just a few words, he, Iron Blood, would have no future in Mysterious City.

”Believe it or not, that’s up to you. In any case, you are not taking Lin Yun today. If you want a fight, I’ll give you one.” As Ye Yunlong spoke, several black-clad figures instantly flashed to Lin Yun’s side, surrounding him protectively.

These figures were assassins from the Death Row Shelter. Every single one was a Qi Sea Realm expert who had undergone the most brutal training.

With the masked assassins protecting Lin Yun, Ye Yunlong shot into the air. Hovering above, he looked down at Iron Blood. ”Iron Blood, if you want to fight, then come on. We haven’t fought in years. Let me see if your strength has improved.”

Hearing Ye Yunlong’s provocation, Iron Blood roared in anger. Moments later, high above Mysterious City, the two Primordial Ocean Realm experts began to battle.
