Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Defeating an Opponent in a Single Move

Blocked by Lin Yun, Tang Wushuang stared hard at him for a long moment before finally cracking a faint smile. ”You are right, Brother Lin Shan. I was in the wrong.”

Although Tang Wushuang was smiling, the only thing Lin Yun felt from it was an icy chill.

Not calling Tang Wushuang out, Lin Yun smiled back. ”A man can’t get angry with a beautiful woman, Young Master Tang.”

”Hahaha, excellent! It is truly my honor to meet you today, Brother Lin Shan. In any case, let us go inside and drink to our hearts’ content,” Tang Wushuang boomed with laughter.

Lu Bingning, standing to the side, said nothing, her eyes fixed on Lin Yun. Though his appearance and aura were completely different, her intuition told her this man was very familiar.

Lin Yun released his grip. Tang Wushuang said nothing further, simply turning and walking into the private room. Just as Lin Yun was about to turn as well, Lu Bingning called out to him.

”Thank you,” Lu Bingning said softly.

Hearing this, Lin Yun smiled faintly. ”It’s nothing. It was no trouble at all.”

After studying Lin Yun carefully for a moment, Lu Bingning asked, ”Do I know you?”

Hearing her words, Lin Yun wondered, ’Has she seen through my disguise? But that’s impossible. I’ve already completely mastered the Disguise Technique. Forget Lu Bingning, even a Primordial Ocean Realm expert couldn’t possibly see through it.’

”Miss, this is our first time meeting. We’ve never met before,” Lin Yun replied.

Hearing this, Lu Bingning shook her head to herself. ’I was being too impulsive. This man’s appearance and temperament are worlds apart from Lin Yun’s. How could they possibly be the same person?’

”Haha, Brother Lin Shan, come on, come on! The main event is about to start! Miss Lu, you should stay and join the fun, too. What’s coming next will be quite interesting.” Just as the two were speaking, Tang Wushuang walked out with Yue Xiuchuan and the others.

Tang Wushuang was all enthusiasm. As he and his entourage appeared, the crowd of young people greeted him warmly.

The third floor was very spacious, with a square clearing in the center. Tang Wushuang and his group took the seats of honor, with Lin Yun naturally among them. To everyone’s surprise, Lu Bingning didn’t leave; instead, she sat down beside Lin Yun.

In her heart, Lu Bingning couldn’t shake the feeling that Lin Shan seemed familiar. It was precisely for this reason that she had chosen to stay.

Once everyone was seated, Tang Wushuang rose to his feet. ”Everyone, welcome. Thank you for gracing my gathering with your presence. As the saying goes, when Martial Artists gather, we make friends through combat. So, just like every year, feel free to spar to your heart’s content.”

As Tang Wushuang finished speaking, the atmosphere grew lively. At a gathering of young geniuses, sparring was an inevitable part of the program.

Out of the twenty or so youths present, it wasn’t long before a challenge was issued. Two young men walked out into the central clearing on the third floor and began to spar.

The two fought fiercely, and the quality of Yunlu Tower’s materials and construction was put on full display. Despite the clash between two Martial Artists at the Seventh Layer of Opening Realm, the entire third floor didn’t suffer so much as a single crack; there wasn’t even the slightest tremor.

After exchanging a full hundred moves, the two finally stopped. No winner was decided, but both returned to their seats with smiles.

”Young Master Tang, I hear a newcomer with peerless Combat Power is here today. I’d like to see for myself,” a weaselly-looking youth said, standing up and addressing Tang Wushuang just as the two previous combatants sat down.

Though his words were for Tang Wushuang, the man’s eyes were fixed squarely on Lin Yun. Looking back at him, Lin Yun knew this was all Tang Wushuang’s doing.

Lin Yun had caught the look they exchanged earlier, not missing a single detail. This man challenging him now was undoubtedly at Tang Wushuang’s instruction.

’Seventh Layer of Opening...’ Lin Yun thought to himself, completely unconcerned by the man’s challenge.

At these words, Tang Wushuang put on a show, turning to Lin Yun. ”Brother Lin Shan, this... well, the decision is yours.”

Looking at Tang Wushuang’s feigned look of difficulty, Lin Yun sneered inwardly. ’This man’s hypocrisy truly knows no bounds.’

”Since this is Young Master Tang’s gathering, I can hardly spoil the atmosphere. I’ll have a friendly spar with this brother,” Lin Yun said nonchalantly, already strolling toward the central clearing.

As Lin Yun agreed without hesitation, the man gave a sinister smile. He had been worried Lin Yun wouldn’t accept the challenge Tang Wushuang had instructed him to make. Now that the fool was courting death, he had a chance to put on a good show for Tang Wushuang.

”After you,” Lin Yun said to the man with a light chuckle, making an inviting gesture. ’Since you want to humiliate me, Tang Wushuang, I don’t mind striking back hard.’

”I hear your strength rivals that of the Four Great Geniuses. Allow me to experience it for myself!” With a cold sneer, the man’s figure blurred as he threw a punch straight at Lin Yun.

He had attacked with his full strength right from the start, clearly intending to humiliate Lin Yun viciously.

Facing the attack, Lin Yun showed no sign of fighting back, his hands still clasped behind him. Only when the man’s fist was centimeters from his face did Lin Yun execute Inch Step, deftly avoiding the blow.

”An Earth Level, Upper Tier Body Technique...” Upon seeing Lin Yun’s Inch Step, the gazes of Tang Wushuang and the other three geniuses hardened. The footwork Lin Yun just used was without a doubt an Earth Level Upper Tier Body Technique Martial Skill.

”This kid’s really something,” Chen Dalong, the most direct of the group, praised openly. ”A Body Technique of that caliber is on par with our own.”

”An Earth Level Body Technique? So what? A Body Technique alone is useless. All you can do is run away!” The man fighting Lin Yun was inwardly shocked by the high level of his opponent’s technique, but he couldn’t afford to lose face.

’I underestimated him. With an Earth Level, Upper Tier Body Technique, it looks like humiliating him is out of the question,’ Tang Wushuang thought, a flicker of anger in his heart. He never expected Lin Yun to possess such a skill.

In the central clearing, Lin Yun still hadn’t launched a single counterattack. He did nothing but evade the man’s onslaught. The intricacies of Inch Step were far beyond his opponent’s ability to counter, and after more than a dozen strikes, not one had managed to touch Lin Yun.

As time wore on, the crowd’s initial shock gave way to disdain. After all, someone just endlessly dodging wasn’t the kind of spar they had come to see.

”Hmph. Just a coward who only knows how to run.”

”Yeah, without that Earth Level, Upper Tier Body Technique, I doubt he could even withstand a single blow.”

As jeers rose from the crowd, Lin Yun’s opponent seized the chance to taunt him with a laugh. ”Brother Lin Shan, your Body Technique is truly incredible. But your attacks are too weak. At best, it just makes you good at running away.”

The mockery in his voice was blatant. However, as his words faded, the smile on Lin Yun’s face only grew wider. ”In that case, why don’t you try taking one of my punches?”

The words had barely left his lips when Lin Yun threw his Black Steel Tyrant Fist. An overwhelmingly tyrannical aura erupted from him. The man’s face paled at the attack; with no way to evade, he had no choice but to take the punch head-on.

BOOM! The man crossed his arms in front of his chest to block. But in the next instant, Lin Yun’s fist connected. A series of sickening CRACKS echoed from the man’s arms as his entire body was sent flying backward.
